Bec & Chris - Wishes Wedding 03/01/11 WP/WHR/SCP - Some extra pics and **COMPLETE**

I'm trying to decide between Beaute Speciale and Patricia Legune. I'm having a really hard time deciding, which I'm hoping means that I'll be happy with either because they're both great... :confused3:laughing:

I went with Patricia LeJeune. If you look at Birdie's (I think) wedding pics she used Patricia...on the morning of her MK shoot she used Beaute Speciale and she truly had 2 different looks...

I say if you want something more natural Patricia is the way to go.:thumbsup2

Hi Bec!

Congrats on being 1 year out! That's awesome! :)

I absolutely LOVE your Save the dates! They are adorable! Too bad DF said no actual "Disney characters" on the wedding stuff :( that makes me sad, but oh well!

Can't wait to see more plans :)

Mini rant!

I found out during the week that Df's brother - who is getting married in October - has hired a photo booth for their wedding :headache::headache:

We were having one of those!!!! :sad2: It made me really angry for a couple of hours because I know I told someone on that side of the family about it.

I got over it pretty quickly because I tend to do that about most things, but DF was pretty cute about it, he didn't know what to do to make it better so he said "I didn't want to tell you before, but I thought it was a pretty stupid idea..." :lmao: He doesn't get it... Boys!

Now I'm trying to work out what to do for entertainment during the reception  so we probably won't do anything, and just stick to the dessert party. We might get some of the flashing glasses and bowls and stuff for everyone to keep. The photo booth was pretty expensive, so it will free up some money.

Also, we have a holiday here called Anzac's Day - similar to Veteran's Day. It's always held on the 25th of April, which next year is a Monday. I was going to take advantage of the long weekend to have my At Home Reception on the Saturday night - so everyone has time to travel, not too far away from the actual wedding, and hopefully we'd have our photos back in time. However I've discovered over the weekend that Anzac's Day is going to be the same weekend as Easter next year, which ruins everything!!! I can't ask people to travel all over the Easter long weekend!

So back to the drawing board.

No boys don't get it.:rotfl2:
Go with something more interactive then if you can't have the photobooth-charicature artist? Shilouttes? (I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong-but you get the point...)
It's more interactive...and something that people will hold onto for a long time...I think with the photobooth idea people are more likely to loose them or toss them out, use them as bookmarks and then they will get a wrinkled and stuff... JMHO...
Why can't you ask people to travel over a long weekend? I think most would enjoy the extra day to get there and back and not be rushed to get back for a work day on Monday...:confused3

ROFL

Ah well, I was looking into the photobooth option as well. Our photogs have started offering one as part of their wedding services. Gotta find out how much that is. Instead of a clunky photo booth they set up a camera manned by their assistant, some cool props, a background, and give the guests a remote.

The photos are very high quality and look amazing, so I am pondering this option.

Another option would be the profile portraits, but I don't know... there are also caricature artists... decisions, decisions... gotta mull it over with DH...

It's not that it's a long weekend, it's because it's Easter. That's why we were going to have it over the Anzac Day weekend (which is usually a long weekend too) so people had extra travelling time. However Easter is generally spent quietly with family. Fair enough a lot of the people coming to the AHR are going to be family, but a lot of them will be friends too. For some reason to me, asking people to travel over Easter is rude, but asking people to travel over a long weekend is considerate :confused3  I don't know, I'll see what people think when I throw the idea around, but I think it's just the done thing - for example this year we've got nothing on over Easter, but a wedding and two engagement parties on the following three weekends after Easter, no one plans anything over Easter

I feel like I've said Easter too many times in that Easter explanation...So I'll chuck Easter in a few more times for good measure - Easter Easter Easter...

Easter...Maybe I read the first post wrong...Easter...I usually read them early in the morning....Easter...And probably don't process what your post really said...Easter...I get it now...Easter...:rotfl:

Hey Bec,

I just started reading your PJ. I am amazed at how organized it is! It's really helpful!!

All of your plans look great. We have the same cake topper! We didn't use it but I got it as a shower gift :goodvibes

We used beaute speciale and had a really great experience. I think you would really be fine with either her or patricia. Everyone has had such great things to say about both of them.

I have been to Sydney twice - its one of my favorite cities. Everything is so clean and modern and the people there are awesome! Do you live anywhere near there? DH claims that if we ever had to live in a city proper thats where we would live.

Can't wait to hear more of your ideas.

Cassie

I just finished reading your PJ. All your ideas are great! I'm subscribing. I look forward to hearing more about your planning! popcorn::

Bec, I have a lot of catching up to do on your PJ. I love your how your Wedding planning is coming out so far. Were you ever able to get the Whitehall Room or did you have to change anything? I hope everything works out. How frusterating about the room being booked for your date and someone copying your photobooth idea. That would annoy me. I hope you are having a beautiful day in Australia(Eeick & I are both dying to visit Australia).

Yeah we've changed to the 1st of March so we can have the WHR. We just like it more then the other rooms, and I wanted a room that didn't have restrictions.

Oh my god that's awesome!! I wonder how much that would cost?!? I love it!

We used to live in Sydney, but it's a bit hectic, we're pretty laid back people, and driving for an hour to work every morning is not my idea of fun :rotfl: So we moved back to my home town which is about 5 hours drive away.

We were both in a friend's wedding on Saturday, and I'm still super tired today - if my spelling seems really off it's because I'm still wearing gel nails and trying to get used to typing with them - we had about half a dozen of the guests staying with us over the weekend, and we only got rid of the last of them this morning before work, so I'm really out of it.

I'll try and post some photos of it. I must say it was one of the smoothest weddings I've ever been to, nothing went wrong the whole day. It all just fell right into place.

We were in yellow flowy dresses with a mix of different colour yellow roses, and the bride had a champagney coloured dress with a bigger bouquet of the same roses, plus some light pink ones thrown in too. All very pretty.

The photographer was amazing. She showed us some of the shots she was taking and they were really good, one in particular looked like it had been edited, but we just saw her take the photo and she spun the camera around to show us because of how good it looked. Then during the reception she was in the bride's vestibule with her computer and after the meals she put up some select shots in a slide show, she'd have to be one of the best local photographers I've ever seen.

Here are some photos from my friend's wedding, I think I've resized them all, but I'll try and fix them if I've missed any.

I love this photo, a friend of mine really wanted to catch the bouquet, unfortunately she didn't get it, but we staged a photo to make it look like she did, and I'm sending it to her boyfriend.
