Beach Club Villas?

Does anyone know when they will start taking reservations for the Beach Club Villas. I have been trying to figure out what to give my DH for our 10th wedding anniversary next year and I just came up with an idea of going to Disney for 2 or 3 nights for the Food and Wine Festival in 2002. I would like to stay at a resort near Epcot and thought it would be an opportunity to see the new villas.

Any news? I called Disney but they didn't have any information on when they are starting to take reservations.

I don't think you will be able to get anything other than guesses and opinions on BCV. DVD does not seem to want to talk much about them....maybe trying to focus on selling out VWL, HH and VB?

I guess we'll just have to keep our mouse ears to the ground!

I believe sales are still scheduled for sometime in the Fall. If it works at all like Wilderness Lodge did, then they would start taking ressies within a month or two after that.

Unless you plan on purchasing into BCV, you couldn't make any reservations for the food and wine festival until your 7-month window anyway. That would be around the end of March 2002, for ressies for late October 2002 when I presume would be the next food and wine festival.

I would be pretty confident that by March 2002 they would be taking reservations.

Until Disney announces an opening date, no reservation will be accepted. Once a specific date is announced publically, cash reservations will be accepted thru CRO.

As with VWL, there will be only a few point reservations available when those are accepted by DVC.

Currently, the "official" opening is Fall, 2002. Suggestions of an earlier opening were made well before Sep 11, and no new
rumors have been available recently. Rest assured, once any announcement is made, you'll be able to read about it right here!

The last official word I saw was that the "expected opening" Disney's Beach Club Villas is in September 2002. This was in the press release announcing the new DVC resort at Disney's Eagle Pines Golf Course. That's also the date from the folks at the DVC sales office at the Boardwalk Resort.

As Disney Vacation Club approaches its decade mark on October 1, 2001, the Company is celebrating a number of achievements, including the expansion of its resort collection through the proposed addition of the new resort at Disney's Eagle Pines Golf Course and the completion of Disney's Beach Club Villas, which is currently under construction at Walt Disney World Resort next to the popular Disney's Beach Club Resort (expected opening in September 2002).

Keep in mind that an "expected opening" is very different than a true, announced opening date.

Thanks for the replies. Since I am not planning on going until the first week of November 2002 I am thinking positive that they will be open. Who knows maybe we will buy into the DVC then.
