My DS5 loves his Crocs, he won't wear anything but them. So I bought him a second pair for the summer. He wore them a couple of times then stop wearing them complaining the bottom of his heal hurt. I looked at them on the inside and felt around the inside heal and didn't feel anything, then one day he was wearing them again and was limping, when I looked at his foot he was bleeding. So I told him that's why his foot hurt he had a cut. Stupid Me:sad2:
So he stopped wearing them all together until the other day, I told him to get the blue ones and he said no they hurt. I looked at the shoe again, I pushed on it and still I couldn't find anything, Then bright me looked under the shoe and there was the problem a nail went through the heal of the shoe.:scared1: I couldn't believe it for the last 2 months I kept making him try that shoe and there was a nail in it scratching his foot, my poor baby. How can I have never even thought to look under the shoe? Thankfully it went in on a slant, because it was a long nail. If it had gone straight up It would have gone right into his heal. At first I really didn't notice it, I thought I saw something but wasn't thinking much about it, I went to put them down and decided to really look again it was pushed all the way up and a small piece of the head of the nail was showing.

Please be carefully wearing them.

I stepped on a nail in my crocs on Friday actually...hurt like hell...heh. Worst part was I was past the 10 year mark so had to go get a tetanus booster. I hate doctors :P

A similar thing happened to me when I was wearing my JCrew flip flops. I stepped on a metal scrap(not really big) but it was pointy and went right through cut my foot.

I actually have put all of our crocs by the wayside for quite awhile. My children kept falling and tripping in the blasted things. Several friends children are having the same issues. I now only let them be worn for gardening or such. Now Im glad as I can just imagine my luck and stepping on a nail! EEK!

not only crocs -- I stepped on a roofing nail while wearing my nikes......earned me a brand new tetanus shot!

oooh, poor kid! But your post should be titled,'any shoe" most shoes with a rubber sole ,this could easily happen,in fact as a kid, I did it numerous times with sneakers,I was a klutz! But then,we are die hard croc fans.....

Y'know, our school has banned crocs because the kids were constantly tripping while wearing them and falling all over the place, and when they were wet the kids were actually slipping out of their shoes and falling all over the place.

A lot of parents were like, WTH? when the notice first came out but then they explained it.

I just don't get crocs, at all...

It's like wearing an ugly styrofoam cup on your feet...

I should SUE the DIS for making me try those God forsaken shoes!!! Not only are they YOUgly I nearly killed myself tripping on them, too!! :rotfl2: Not an attractive look for a 50 year old!!

I hated them until I broke down and bought a pair for our Disney trip last week.

I still hate the way they look but I have to admit that they are one of the most comfortable things I have ever worn on my feet.

Same here!! HUGE nail right through my sneaker...I felt like a big dummy!! How could I step on a nail THAT large and not see it beforehand?! I think it's just one of those freak things.

I stepped on nail in Birkenstocks that got me my last tetanous shot. So it's definitely not just crocs. I was 7 months pregnant at the time, so I couldn't see where I was stepping, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! :thumbsup2

Well... when you're 9 months pregnant (heck, more like 10 :headache: ) and your feet have doubled in size from swelling, the ugly styrofoam cup shoes are blissful! :cloud9:

OP: that's so scary, poor kid!

That's only ok because you can't see what you're wearing on your feet, anyway :D

I have the Payless version, and I had a small stick go up through the bottom of mine. It wasn't long enough to cut my foot, but I couldn't figure out what kept poking my foot. I had to get a pair of tweezers to get the stick out of the bottom of my fake crocs.
