Hi again, as you know I am still toying with an add on at either place;), and thought I had decided on BWV, until I started reading DVC Mike's BCV report!!:lmao:

Anyway, I think I have finally figured out why I am finding it so difficult:idea:, basically I am looking for which resort generally 'feels' the most relaxing. And all the photos I see make BCV look the most peaceful, but I have real concerns about the swimming area.

I know SAB is very popular, but when you are there do you find it relaxing like a resort pool or hectic like a water park??

I really LOVE the idea of sitting on my BWV balcony with that awesome boardwalk view, but am actually thinking that DVC Mike's pictures of BCV make it look so tranquil that I might be happier there (especially as my two boys are very small and would, no doubt, have years of fun to come at SAB!!)

I know I keep going round in circles:goodvibes - so my basic question is - when you are there which resort do you find most relaxing? BCV or BWV??

Many thanks (again!!:lmao:):thumbsup2

They're both very nice - and both can be relaxing. I think that BCV is more peaceful because you don't have the constant activity on the Boardwalk like you do at BWV (but you could get a room where you never see/hear any of that). And the Beach Club Villas are separate from the main part of the resort as well.

As for the pool, if you think that Stormalong Bay will be too hectic - you never even have to go there. BCV has its own pool right at the Villas - usually very quiet from what I've seen myself and heard others say. Beach Club Resort also has a quiet pool totally removed from Stormalong Bay. So there are 3 pools to choose from, 2 of which are quiet pools.

we find the BWVs much more quiet & relaxing. a warning tho, once you wake up to this

you might never want to leave.

while the BCVs are beautiful, they are significantly more noisy, especially in the lobby, halls, & pools (even the "quiet" pool). & unfortunately, they build the BCVs near a road, so the EPCOT views are of a roadway, with a glimpse of spaceship earth through the treetops.

we prefer the quiet of the BW, with its many offerings at our fingertips ~ without them imposing upon us 24/7, the stunning views, etc.:)

I think BCV is much quieter than BWV. Even the quiet pool can be busy especlially with Community Hall right there. There is also a lot of activity on the Boardwalk in the evenings especially during peak season. BWV is my favorite resort and we own at both but I when we want a quieter vacation we go to BCV. Our teen aged son hates it there and loves BWV-lots more going on.

BCV is more quiet, except from 9:00 to 9:20 at night when you hear the booms of Illuminations. BCV is behind the BC, so you are insulated from the traffic and noise on the boardwalks. The Dunes Cove pool is not as noisy as either the Luna Park pool or the quiet pool at BWV.

thanks everyone!!:lovestruc

So it kind of sounds as though BCV is quieter than I thought - but Laurie's photos still have me hooked on the BWV as well - this decision is really not getting any easier:lmao:.

I think the bottom line is that I am thinking my children will prefer SAB and BCV, but that I am going to long for that Boardwalk view (especially as I can't get excited about any of the BCV views). I think I might have to go back to my original plan of splitting the points.

Does anyone ever do 5 nights at BWV and then 5 nights at BCV - it seems like a crazy idea to switch resorts when they are in effect in the same area - but do any of you ever do that?? (we also own at BLT and AKV, so we could do split stays with those - eg 5 nights at BCV & a week at AKV one year and then 5 nights at BWV & a week at BLT the next year - is that a feasable plan?? - We had bought our BLT & AKV points to do split stays anyway, but those two do seem like very different resorts in totally different locations, unlike BCV/BWV - plus is an epcot area resort & BLT split too similar in terms of location??).:confused3 What do you think??

Once again, many thanks for any advice!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Well if you don't own at BWV, I wouldn't necessarily count on getting a Boardwalk view at 7 months anyway. I think BW and standard views are the ones that book the fastest at BWV.

I probably wouldn't split BWV and BCV in the same trip, just for the reasons you said. Seems like too much hassle for the minimal (or no) benefit you would get. Now for AKV and BLT - yes, that I would do because they're very different and close to different parks, etc.
