Just back from Beach Club Villas. We were in Room 404, a dedicated 2 bedroom (1 queen and sofa bed.) The room had a quiet pool view and was very close to the stairs leading out to the bus stop.
The room was in decent condition. Some worn areas here and there. But nothing that distracted from our enjoyment. It was clean and that's my first priority. It seems as if Room Ready is the assignment process. We were offered two rooms at checkin, neither of which met our requests, so it seems like luck of the draw.
SAB was fun, but was cleared a couple of times because of "floaters". They were handing out wristbands each day but the pool was never too crowded. Except for.... well.... you know :earseek: !
The Marketplace offered a quick place to grab a sandwich. The store itself need better merchandise. Especially BCV stuff.
We own at BCV but usually stay at Boardwalk because of a not so great stay a couple of years ago. I missed the 7 month window and was unable to get a BW view, so we decided to give BC another shot. I'm glad we did but Boardwalk still tops my list. We walked over to Flying Fish for dinner and as soon as I heard the music and smelled the "burning wood smell" (what is that?) I felt like I was home.
No worries for anyone headed to BCV though. Not so great stays can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. Overall, our stay at Beach Club was great and I have no concerns about my "home"!

Thanks for the positive report. We own at BCV and love it never yet had a bad stay. Kids love the pool and we love the location. Maybe one day will try another resort but not anytime soon.

We were handed our keys and not given the room numbers till the rooms were ready for us. I thought it was strange but something different BCV did. You were near us my daughter was in a beautiful one bedroom overlooking the pool I was in the room from hell. Were you in smoking too? It seemed like that wing was mostly smoking.

We were non smoking but many of the rooms on the 4th floor are smoking.

We checked in on Sat. afternoon and the CM seemed somewhat overwhelmed. I don't know if they had a busy day that day, or if she was newer? There was a problem with the Dining Plan (we had a phantom child on our reservation) In fairness, she went right to a supervisor to address it (she was afraid to mess it up by changing it) and it was handled in less than 10 minutes.

The last time we were at BCV, I was less than thrilled with my stay. Our room was a mess for various reasons and I wasn't happy with the reponse. Even when it was resolved, I had a bad taste in my mouth. In the resort's defense, some of it was me. The place just doesn't "do it" for me. Yes they need to address some issues. But even if everything was perfect, it still wouldn't feel perfect for "me".
I read your original post, it seems you have some valid complaints. Please don't let DVC be ruined for you because of one stay. Let some of the emotional response pass and then review the situation. Good luck to you! :)

It is more the response that disturbed me. There seemed to be no communication and a very patronizing robotic response by most. Lots of excuses. We can give out handicapped rooms, we can give smoking rooms, we don't have a room that isn't broken or in disrepair in this hotel. You know Yacht club and BC were right there. By day two when I found my doors wide open at night I was willing to move away from my grandkids to get out of that room. Did I mention the wasp nest outside the door that was wide open at night? Well I showed it to the housekeeping manager. It was removed that day and I noticed staff removing them all over the resort after that. Upgrade a person when you screw up so bad and eat the loss. It's going to be no more costly in the end and ruined a repeat client's vacation. We go to Disney at least once a year.
Thanks for the support.
Does anyone know who the President of the DVC is?

Wow! On either Tues or Wed., we saw a worker in an uniform with a Horticulture badge outside a room on the 4th floor (near the elevator 406-414 maybe?) and we joked that someone must have found a bug in their room.
The next day we did notice wasps outside flying around that we hadn't seen before. Only saw them for about an hour or so and then didn't see anymore. :sad2:

The president of DVC is Jim Lewis.

The address for DVC is
Disney Vacation Club,
200 Celebration Place,
Celebration, FL 34747

You may also want to send a letter to the Manager of the beach club.

Room 430~! They (mousekeeping) were there Tuesday or Wednesday, who remembers anymore. They removed the nest outside my door but there were several all along the underhang.

What a great attitude and reasonable reporting, couple things weren't perfect but it sounds like looking at the big picture it was great, thanks for the update. :thumbsup2

pixiechick, I'm glad you enjoyed your BCV stay. We were at the VWL at the time, and we had a great one too!

Bobbi :)
