Looking for some good fun bath toys for DS. We have the basketball set and spouting whale. Also various bath characters. DS is going to be 2 what you recommend? :goodvibes

Hot wheel, boys are never to lil to play with toy cars.

We use pretty much anything we can throw in the dishwasher to clean, just because it's in the soapy bath water dosen't mean it's getting clean

I've abandoned the typical bath toys for DD because I felt they were a pain to clean up. She is just as happy, or probably happier, with plain ol bubbles. She also likes the bath paints that Avon sells and I don't worry about them staining anything. They look like roll on deoderant but roll out colored soap.

The things that squirt water are horrible to keep clean. My son is 18 mos and he loves playing with the basketballs and I have been putting trucks and dinosaurs in there too that don't have holes for water to get stuck in, he seems to enjoy those. We recently found dinosaurs and safari animals for $1 each at Wal-Mart, my son is crazy about those.

We have some Haba squirt toys. We only put one squirt toy in each bath and then let it dry completely.

We have a really cool Fisher Price Boat that came with a Walrus. It was a gift so I am not sure where it was purchased.

We also have a Disney It's a Small World Boat. Purchased at the It's a Small World ride in Disneyland. They also have it in Disneyworld...$12 I think.

I refuse to buy ANY toys that squirt water... no matter what I do (squirt them out completely, set them out to dry, so on) they end up getting all moldy inside. Even when I clean them with bleach.

DD likes playing with Barbie dolls in the tub but I don't think that'll work for your DS. :)

Other toys that she loves in the bath tub are Crayola bath crayons, bath rollers from Target & a FP boat.

My boys favorite have always been non toys. The loved a plastic bowl or two from my plastic wear and a few plastic things out of my utensil drawer. A cheap spray bottle. On of those plastic syringe things you give babies medicine with. And yep....empty shampoo bottles !

They also liked the plastic toddler books that are made to go in he water and would spend a lot of time "reading" to themselves in the tub.

Avon roll soaps are fun but the crayola markers were HORRIBLE to try to clean off my tub.
Mine also liked the tablets that turned the water colors. Blue make a fun ocean but bet a drop of food color would work too!

Glad to know we aren't the only ones with moldy squirt toys! Ds really likes a set of nesting cups with holes in the bottom. The smallest has one hole and each large has one more hole. I use them to wash him and he plays with them. He's just starting to dump water on his head himself which is great for me!
