Bash Our President Thread

Great idea Laura. :thumbsup2

It makes me sick to see how this President and his cronies have divided this country in half.

And his flock will blindly follow him right till the end no matter how damning the evidence.

I'm convinced that if Bush were to force Americans to kill their first born that the appologists would think it's a great idea. Just because Bush says so, it has to be a good plan.

I thought this was a bash Bush thread - why bring in Clinton? :cool1:

I honestly don't understand how he has amassed such a cult like following of apologists. Even the most die hard Clinton supporter will admit the man made mistakes. Cripes! Even those who bow to the altar of Reagan admit he made mistakes in hindsight. But oh no! Not George W Bush. He speaks directly to God and he's deserving of fanfare, rose petals, salaaming, and trumps blaring wherever he goes and whatever he says.

I liked his Dad and had a tremendous amount of respect for him. I never would have imagined that the apple would fall miles and miles from the tree.

What I still don't understand, and noone from the left has ever made clear, why if they don't trust Bush are they bashing him for Katrina? What he did "wrong" according to the bashings I've seen is not violate the Constitution, you know the part that assigns everything not defined to the States? Why, if you don't trust Bush do you want him to have dictatorial powers in such an emergency? Why is it Bush's fault that Katrina went so badly in Louisiana, yet although more destructive in Mississippi, you hear less about it - and less blame. Why wasn't it Bush's "fault" that the hurricanes in Florida were handled better? Oh yea, I forgot - if it goes well, it's because the state did something right, but if it goes wrong, well Bush is just such a monster.

You know what? I believe that this President Bush will get graded no better than a C, probably a D when it is all said and done. But he is still better than what Gore or Kerry would have been like. That is why he is president, because the Democrats couldn't get a decent candidate. I've said it before, I wish Gore would have won his own state (he lost 2-1 in Tennessee, but it's a lot easier to focus on Florida) so he could have been president in 2000. Then there would have been no doubt as to who was at fault for 9/11. There would have been no doubt as to who was at fault for the downturn in the economy (although he would have truthfully been able to say it started during Clinton's administration - but it doesn't work when Bush says it). I really don't like Bush as president, but the inane remarks that come from some are so out of place and out of proportion that it brings a need (at least in me) to defend him.

Is he a great president? no, not in my opinion. But is he evil incarnate? Did he cause 9/11? Was he responsible for the failures at Katrina? No, no and no, at least according to the Contsitution (but, hey, why should we worry about that when it's a good excuse to bash him?).

And with the videos yesterday exposing the President's & his adminsitrations failure to act on Katrina surfacing...will it ever end?

The one thing that I really don't like about Bush is that once he makes up his mind about something, he will not change his mind for anything.

The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning
about a new virulent strain of a STD.

The disease is contracted through dangerous and
high-risk behavior. The disease is called Gonorrhea
Lectim and pronounced "gonna re-elect him."
Many victims contracted it in 2004, after having been
screwed for the past four years.

Cognitive characteristics of individuals infected
include:
anti-social personality disorders, delusions of
grandeur with messianic overtones, extreme cognitive
dissonance, inability to incorporate new information,
pronounced xenophobia and paranoia, inability to
accept responsibility for own actions, cowardice
masked by misplaced bravado, uncontrolled facial
smirking, ignorance of geography and history,
tendencies towards evangelical theocracy, categorical
all-or-nothing behavior.

Naturalists and epidemiologists are amazed at how this
destructive disease originated only a few years ago
from a bush found in Texas.

Thanks for ruining the fun. I don't think anyone came here for an actual serious debate.

I personally came here purely to enjoy the company of everyone else who thinks he's a goober. I think you've got your own thread somewhere on the CB where you can also enjoy the company of like-minded people.

I agree with you Whattheheck, Bush isn't evil incarnate. Heck, he can't even pronouce most words in the English dictionary. He is the puppet, the mouthpiece for the evil incarnate Republican Administration which is indeed powerful, exceedingly dangerous and, unfortuately, in control of all three branches of our government.

Post Turtle

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher (whose
hand was caught in a gate while working cattle), the doctor and the old
man struck up a conversation about George W. Bush being in the White
House.

The old Texan said, "Well, ya know, Bush is a 'post turtle'."

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post
turtle' was.

The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road an you
come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post
turtle."

The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to
explain, "You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong
there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just want
to help the dumb ******* get down!"

Did you hear that George W. Bush's library burnt down? :guilty:

No. Of course not. But what did he do to help prevent it and the catastrophic loss of life?

Clear warning signs were given to him in advance of 9/11!

He receives a PDB (Presidential Daily Brief) on his desk every day. The threat of an imminent Al Qaeda attack inside the U.S. was clearly laid before him. ("Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US")

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0409041pdb1.html

He and his advisors ignored it.

Good job W. Way to keep us safe. :thumbsup2

Busch... only thing he's good for is supplying the good booze at a frat house kegger.

ETA: Yes, Busch minion, I spelled his name exactly as I had intended.

Our President is not only slow on the uptake, he's a bad liar. Or, maybe he was a good liar before the internet. Now people can actually look up what was originally said, when he backtracked, and to whom the blame was shifted.

I just can't stand being lied too. And, as the saying goes, when Clinton lied, no one died.

(My spleen nice and aired now!!)

Hey! Don't go knocking the guy supplying good booze at the keggeer.

Bush also ruined America's reputation over here thoroughly. We were so grateful to what his Dad did when he and Gorbachev helped to make our dream come true - The German Reunification. We are still grateful for that, we are also still grateful for what the USA -and the other Allies- did for us during and after WWII.
Unfortunately the USA is not longer what it used to be - thanks to Bush and his cronies. America used to be a guardian of freedom - Bush made it appear an oilthirsty warmonger, who even condones torture. Freedom has also been considerably infringed in the USA - thanks to his handling of 'the War against terror'.
I keep my fingers crossed that in this year's election the Elephant gets his butt kicked and loses its majority. The world need an America like it used to be.
