Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

One year until your wedding. The time will surely fly by. I remember how fast the year before my wedding went. It felt like a month and not a year! :lmao:

1 year to the wedding, thats an exciting landmark and i bet it'll fly in!:yay:

your plans for your December trip sound like a pure dream

seeing Wilderness Lodge at Xmas time is on my wish list and the slegih ride is a great idea! sounds like such a cool trip:goodvibes...does DBF know he is getting to watch football at ESPN or are you keeping it a secret?:cool1:

thank you, I'm really pleased with the plans for the December trip! .. even with missing out all the 'best' restaurants (Le Cellier, Brown Derby etc) we've still got some delicious places to try - saving the $$$ restaurants for Honeymoon next year! :cloud9:

Yes DF does know we're going to ESPN on the sunday afternoon (well, I've told him - he doesn't alway pay attention when I'm talking 'disney planning', but he's happy once we get there!) ... I bet he wears his New Orleans Saints top that day too :goodvibes - I'm still learning the rules for american football so I don't completely understand the game.. never mind, sure there'll be a cocktail I can sample at ESPN while he watches! ;)

I heard about the new style stores too on a Disney Podcast, don't they sound exciting? I can't wait to see one, wish I was heading back to California this year.

Oh how exciting to be a year away from your wedding, can't wait till I can say that. Have fun watching the football, hope we can win this game although I felt split when we were playing the USA :rolleyes1

Lol the football wasn't good last night was it? even I was getting stressed out watching the match! and I felt a little 'split' when watching the USA game last weekend too! ... and a little last night, only because my department at work got Algeria in the sweepstakes lol - we've been allowed to decorate our desks & areas in flags, posters etc! :thumbsup2

I was thinking the same thing! (one year to my wedding!) I feel like now the countdown can start, you know?! :goodvibes

yes we can countdown together!! 364 days.. or 52 weeks today ... woo hoo! :woohoo:

:yay: for one year til your wedding :goodvibes

DF was telling me about the interactive stores, thats Steve Jobs for you :) Should be cool to see :)

I thought I found a teaser for Stranger Tides, but it was for the game from E3 :( Seeing the Flying Dutchman will be v exciting, great photo opportunity :thumbsup2

I've heard a couple of the interactive stores should be coming here too! I'm guessing Bluewater & maybe Oxford Street?! :goodvibes

It'll be amazing to see the Flying Dutchman! DF & I love the PotC triology... fingers crossed #4 is released over here before our wedding - it'll be 'pirate fever' in WDW next year i'm guessing!
Btw they're meant to be filming some of PotC4 in London.. I keep googling it to see if there's any info - maybe go along to see if they need any 'extras' on set! pirate:

I bet it will fly.. there's so much going on this year (vacations, exams etc) that it'll be 2011 before we know it!
I cannot wait for the wedding but I'm enjoying all the build up so much - it's the ultimate project, so much to think about! :cloud9:

This morning I went to buy stamps for the save the date cards! ... almost fainted when the total came to £15 for 36 stamps :scared1: - never mind, they need to be posted!

Been cleaning the house ready for my parents arriving soon .. then we'll be off to our venue, Tylney Hall, to have aftenoon tea with DF's parents.... fingers crossed it's nothing like that Ben Stiller movie 'meet the fockers' :scared1: lol.

Would be awesome if the Oxford St one got a makeover, but they really need to expand on the size of the place as it gets so crowded, theres hardly any space to stand to looks at stuff properly.

Cool that Pirates is filming over here, would love to see Capn' Jack up close. How awesome would it be if they did pick you as an extra :teeth:

Hi everyone,

Afternoon tea went really well today! :goodvibes

Parents got on well, plenty of conversation and no awkward moments lol

So lovely to be at Tylney Hall... I get that kind of 'goosebump' feeling when we're there - like when you arrive at a Disney theme park! :wizard:

I did take my camera but completely forgot to take any photos of the hotel.. so I'll just repost these..

Absolutely gorgeous! So glad everyone got along so well!

I know I've said it before, but I will say it again - your venue is absolutely breathtaking! :cloud9: I can't get over how beautiful it is!

thank you!!

there was actually a wedding going on today at Tylney Hall.. we didn't see the bride and groom but did see some of the guests & the toast master outside the windows (we were in a lounge having our afternoon tea - crust-less sandwiches, cream cakes and scones.. mmmm!)

It was weird to think that next year that will be our wedding taking place!! :yay:

so... tomorrow is 1 year til the DISNEYMOON begins!! :cloud9:

Emma princess: x

OH my gosh---LOVE your venue!!! What a princess setting  Happy "one year away" tomorrow :cool1:

Hi everyone!

Ok.. putting this December's trip to one side - wanted to share some of the plans for our honeymoon; as it will begin a year today!

So - after getting married on Saturday 18th, we'll spend the Sunday with family & friends who've stayed over at the hotel.. come home and open any wedding presents we get (!) - possibly go out for a meal with my cousin (MoH) and her husband in the evening (we did this with them after their wedding last April!) :goodvibes

and then on the Monday 20th... we'll be hopping across the Atlantic for our disneymoon!! :cloud9:

Originally, I'd thought we'd spend the first night at the Boardwalk Villas (DVC home resort) - but after thinking about it and talking to DF, we're hoping to stay at...

Kidani Village!!

I'd love to stay at this resort but as we're unlikely to stay at WDW with a rental car, it just seems too far away from the parks etc (been spoiled by staying at the Boardwalk I guess!)
But for this one night in WDW, I think it'll be a perfect relaxing place to stay.

We'll probably just go to Mara for a light meal & sit out on our balcony watching the sunset & all the animals!

In the morning, I might suggest we head to Boma for breakfast - never been there before & only heard great reviews!

We could head into a park for a couple of hours... but I think we'll need to be back at the resort by 12pm ish to head to...

Port Canaveral & the Disney Dream ship! :wizard:

The 7 month window for our non-home resort DVC will open up in November, so hopefully we'll get a savanna view studio for this one night!

Emma princess: x

Kidani is one of my two 'homes' and you will love it - it is breathtakingly beautiful and having a savannah room and waking up to all the animals having their breakfast is the best thing ever. I agree that it is further away from the parks (except AK of course!) but this helps, I think with the 'intimate' feel of the place. I guess I am lucky as my other 'home' is BLT and that is right in the thick of it so it's kinda nice to combine the two in a trip and get the best of both worlds!!

Your wedding venue is beautiful :goodvibes

Your plans for your first night sound good, bet you can't wait to board the Dream :)

WOW!!! What an amazing Disneymoon!! I think you will love AKL! I am dying to eat there as well. Can't wait to read your reviews! Also, YAY for the cruise!!! How exciting :goodvibes

Apparently, according to my daughter who works for Disney Stores, the first of the new interactive stores (which are going to be called 'imagination parks') in Europe will be Madrid, Belfast and Milton Keynes!!!

Ummm I'm American... and much much older than you and I STILL have no concept of the rules for American Football. This is how I see it.

Men huddle around TV and shout at the screen.

Women chat in the kitchen about their children.

Men drink beer. Woman drink wine.

Men shout at the TV some more....

Woman snack on spinach and artichoke dip in the kitchen and men complain about the game.

We might be booking our photographer, singer & DJ very soon! :woohoo:

I posted the Save the Date cards earlier this week... guests should be getting them today! (wanted to wait til after 18th June this year - just in case anyone didn't notice it said 2011 not 2010

:yay: for posting Save the Dates. When you send out Save the Dates do people tend to respond to them?

Coolbeans about the photographer and DJ bookings. Its all fitting into place nicely :goodvibes

They are not supposed to. If its a local person who you see, they might tell you they got it when they see you next, but its a couple hundred people attempt to respond to all those cards :scared1: it would get in the way of your Disney planning.

Hi Stefy - people don't usually reply to Save the Dates - I didn't put a 'rsvp' on them, it's more of a 'please don't book anything for this date next year!'

Guess what arrived in the post today... Princess & the Frog on bluray! (only just came out in England on Monday lol).. I cannot wait to watch it again - last time I saw it was in the cinema at Downtown Disney in December! :wizard:
Might watch it on my laptop while DF is watching football... he is very happy this evening as England won .. think most of the country is! I am pleased our American cousins are also through to the next round!

Yeah for England and the USA!! Yeah for Princess And The Frog. I will have to get a Blue Ray or a Wii... DD21 is moving out soon.. her DH has returned from the war in Iraq and is in New York at his base. She will join him shortly, and she's taking her Wii and her Blue Ray player!

OIC, figured as much, just wasn't too sure :)

Yay for Princess and the Frog, you watched the previews yet?

:yay: for England and their result yesterday, not so much for Sunday though and playing Germany. But I have heard that the temp is supposed to hit the 30's so I am off down the pub to cheer them on me thinks :teeth:
