Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

Those tshirts you have made are great.
Shame one of your fave podcasts has now come to an end, cool that you got to be on it though :)
I've actually just started getting into them myself, I always listen to the DisneyBrit one at the moment. Any other great ones you'd recommend?

BTW I spotted you on Twitter just a while ago, hope you don't mind the request to follow :)

That's so cool they featured you on the podcast!! I hate when shows I love end :-(
Love that Cinderella top-- super cute! You should definitely bring it on next year's trip! Maybe a red shirt for the Snow White applique?

Wow... how neat that you got to be heard on the show. Was that your international piano debut? That was such a lovely tribute. :hug:You have such a beautiful speaking voice and your piano playing is so lovely. I too play the piano, but I haven't had regular time to practice in years and years, so I can play fewer and fewer pieces without messing up.

As a techno-challenged adult, how did you record yourself on a file you could email?

LOL Mindy I guess that was my international 'debut' on the piano!! :goodvibes i don't mind listening to myself play the piano, but I really don't like how my voice sounds.. I think most people feel like that about hearing their own voice?!
To record.. I have an application called 'Voice Recorder' (in 'accessories' folder, along with Paint, Calculator etc!).. I used my Skype microphone to record it... wasn't too difficult! then I emailed the file to the podcast presenters :thumbsup2

Just added you on Twitter too! I've not really used it much before, just liked following 'celebs' etc lol.. but now I'm starting to tweet more! still learning what all the '#'s and '@'s mean lol !

Other podcasts.. I really like WDW Radio (Lou Mongello - he also write the Trivia books and makes audio guides, he definitely loves all things Disney!), WDW Today (panel of presenters, they do three shows a week!), Inside the Magic (Ricky Brigante - he lives in Orlando and also covers Universal parks, Sea World and Disneyland news :thumbsup2) ... I'd still recommend All About the Mouse - iTunes still has all the old episodes there!

Emma princess: x

I listen to the Disunplugged, I had been listening to WDWToday, but their podcasts are more than 1 hour and I'm finding it hard to even keep up with the Disunplugged. I need some more "me" time I guess. I used to put it on my Ihome before I went to sleep, but then I'd fall asleep, miss part, and have to rewind it. Don't want to miss anything important!:lovestruc

Emma that is so cool!! Well done you! You sounded really sincere, I bet they were really pleased and your piano playing is beautiful!

Some good news this week!!

I passed my latest accounting exam!! :woohoo: I'm studying Cima so that I can be a 'real' management accountant, I'm about half way through the qualification now, it's not too hard but I can't wait to finish - already feel too 'old' to still be taking exams! but it should be worth it to get qualified & will be beneficial to my job.

And tomorrow...

DF and I are going to the registrar's office to give notice!! It can be done within 12 months of getting married; they just check our ID, that we're not married to anyone else (!) and then we're legally allowed to get married :bride:
It's only a little thing, but we're having an afternoon off work to go do it - I'm quite excited!
To celebrate, tomorrow evening we're having a nice dinner at home with some pink bubbly :cloud9:

Emma princess: x x

I think that is a really big thing and so exciting! I'm guessing that's like getting your marriage license here in the states? :confused3 Here, in most states you have to get your license within a month of the wedding because they will expire, but in Georgia (where we live) they never expire - so we might just have already gone and gotten ours. :rolleyes1

Sounds great, Emma! Congrats on passing your exam!

Good luck tomorrow! Hope FD doesn't have any wives somewhere that you don't know about!

:scared1: haha oh I hope he doesn't have any other wives he's not told me about!!

:rolleyes1 lol you already having your wedding licence... us June 2011 brides are just so organised!! :cutie:

We didn't need to 'give notice' so soon, but I just thought we should get it out the way, it's the 'boring' legal part after all!

All went fine this afternoon! :goodvibes We were there for about 40 minutes while the registrar asked us all the necessary questions & filled out the paper work... he was really nice; like he was genuinely excited for us to be getting married!
What was quite funny was that he asked DF all the questions first... like, "what is your fiance's date of birth?" "what is your wedding date? and at what time?" ... and he got them all right!! :teacher: generally DF is not very organised (I'm the planner of the relationship!) so I was really impressed he knew all the dates & info! :

We now have to wait 16 days in case anyone comes forward to say that there's a reason we can't get married... but then the paperwork is complete, and we take a certificate to the registry office that will be marrying us (our venue is in a different county to where we live which has been a bit confusing to organise!)

Just 11 months and 2 days to go! :bride:

Wow... there is so much legal complications that can arise. My DD had issues because you had to appear in person to get the license and you had to wait a certain number of days, but when she needed to get the license, her DF was still in Iraq and the registrar was ornery and refused to make an exception, or use any military middleman. It was so complicated, but it all worked out in the end.

These next 11 months will go by Soooo fast! Your wedding will go beautifully. Your venue is so spectacular.

That sounds so confusing for your daughter and her husband!

I guess DF and I are lucky that this is our first (and hopefully only!!!) marriage, we were born in England & live here.. so all the questions were easy to answer - the registrar kept telling us stories of other couples he'd met with who had a lot of 'complications' with getting married :scared1: lol

Congrats on passing your exam and getting your marriage license. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the marriage license!! Must have made things feel even more "real."

Wedding Music
Ok this will probably change a few times before the actual day, but I've been thinking alot about music for our wedding day!
I really love music - I play piano & flute, studied it to A-level & always have to have music on, whether I'm driving/cooking/at the gym.. everywhere!

So - for the big day..

As we're having a civil ceremony, we don't have to have the traditional wedding music, but we're also not allowed to have hymns - which is fine for us, we're going to have readings/poems instead :goodvibes

Here is the 'soundtrack' plan! ...

Bride's entrance... When You Wish Upon a Star, this is an orchestal version.. I found this album on Amazon and love it!

While we're signing the register... Married Life, a track from the "Up" soundtrack - we both loved this movie last year, and I think this piece is beautiful; it's 'Ellie's theme' played in a lot of different ways (it's from the start of the film, if you've seen it!)

As we leave the ceremony, Spectromagic piano medley - a wonderful Disney parade, and I think the music is uplifting but also emotional! :lovestruc
My original thought had been to have He's A Pirate... from POTC movie #1 - but I think it might not be suitable for a wedding? :confused3

And our first dance might be to... Little Wonders - from 'Meet the Robinsons', maybe not the best known Disney movie, but it's a beautiful song - sung by Rob Thomas - and I think the lyrics are perfect

"Our lives are made, in these small hours.. these little wonders, these twists and turns of fate... time falls away, but these small hours... will remain"

This is the music video... click here!

How does that sound?! apart from 'When you wish upon a star', I don't think any of the songs are 'too' Disney.. it'll be quite subtle; only our guests that know how much I love all things Disney will notice!

Yay for passing your exam and for registering your banns :)

Some great choices for your wedding music :)

Oh I LOVE your music choices! When You Wish Upon a Star was our wedding song, you know! And the music from Spectro is so beautiful and I LOVE that Rob Thomas song from Meet the Robinsons! :thumbsup2

I approve! :lmao:

Congrats on getting that legal stuff taken care of! I know we were both so excited to get that out of the way too! :woohoo:

And I love your music choices! :thumbsup2 I love when people use non-traditional music at weddings.

I like your music choices too. I'm not familiar with the one from Meet the Robinson's. I don't think. I love love love the theme music from Spectro Magic!! Whenever I hear it, it sets such a mood of wonder and anticipation... cause the parade is coming out. Its perfect. I also like When you Wish Upon A Star... its perfect too. We used Trumpet Voluntary (Prince of Denmark's March). Which you may know was played at Charles & Diana's wedding.. which is why it was still so popular in 1986. They really set the tone for weddings for a decade.

Why are hymns not allowed? :confused3
