and some other things in AK! I think we'll be there until the early afternoon - then head back to BWV - either relax in the room or go for a swim in the pool, depends how the December weather is!

Dinner this evening will be at.. Whispering Canyon Cafe!

WildernessLodge.jpg
WCC.jpg

We have a 6.50pm ADR - never eaten here or even been to the Wilderness Lodge, I've heard the Christmas tree and lobby area are amazing, so it should be a good choice for a meal! :goodvibes

After the meal - I'm planning a surprise for DF... a sleigh ride around Fort Wilderness :goodvibes - I've read really good reviews of them and think it will be really festive, especially with all the decorations FW campers put up!

FWxmaslights.jpg

I'm going to book this for about 8.30pm .. I think that will be enough time to have dinner and then get the boat/bus or walk over to FW.

This night it is EMH at Magic Kingdom... we could head over there if we're feeling awake enough!

Tuesday 14th

This day we will be going to Epcot for EMH...

DSC01075.jpg

ride the 'big' rides in Future World first thing, and enjoy the other pavillions.. I'd like to check out some of innoventions this trip, never seem to spend much time in there but the attractions sound fun! :thumbsup2

Again, we'll head back to the Boardwalk for a short while in the afternoon.. then we have an early dinner planned at..

Poly.jpg
Kona_Cafe.jpg

Kona Cafe at the Polynesian resort!
We've never been to this resort and I can't wait to see it... the menu at Kona looks lovely too :goodvibes hoping to try one of those yummy cocktails .. maybe the one in a pineapple?!

Dinner is booked for 5pm, once we're done there we'll hop on the monorail over to Magic Kingdom for...

DSC01492.jpg

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!! :santa:

I can't wait to go to this again and DF is really excited too - I ordered the tickets last Sunday and they arrived in less than three days! Disney post must be sprinkled with pixie dust :wizard:

Wednesday 15th

Today we'll be going to the Studios - it's not EMH so we'll have a 'lie in' and be there for 9am... ready to walk quickly to Toy Story Midway Mania!
I'm looking forward to seeing the new game that's been added :goodvibes

Spend most of the day at DHS - it's probably DF's favourite park and I love it too! (I can't pick a favourite Disney park, it's just too hard!)

After the late night at MVMCP I think we'll want a quieter night - so I've made an ADR at Kouzzina on the Boardwalk for 7pm
Really enjoyed this last trip with my sister... looking at the menu I'm sure DF will love it too.... I must remember to be really hungry beforehand - the portions are sooo big!

Kouzinna.jpg

Thursday 16th

This will be a nice quiet morning - we'll head over to DTD for some serious retail therapy! .. sure we'll have Christmas presents to buy and also some things for our wedding :bride:

DSC01100.jpg

I'm guessing DF will request lunch at the Earl of Sandwich while we're there too!

In the afternoon, weather-depending, we could head to Fantasia Gardens for a round of mini golf :goodvibes

DSC00956.jpg
DSC00965.jpg

In the evening, we'll be heading back to Epcot for 7.30pm dinner at Teppan Edo

and later another viewing of Illuminations - can never see this show too many times!!

IMG_0933.jpg

Friday 17th

This will be our last day in the World before flying home at 8pm in the evening :sad1: ... but we always try to make the most of it!

We'll check out of BWV and leave our luggage with Bell Services... then head on over to the Grand Floridian for breakfast :cloud9:
We have an 8.30am ADR at 1900 Park Fare - I loved this buffet and the characters last trip.. it's also a little preview of the GF resort for DF.... as we're hoping to stay here for our honeymoon next year! :yay:

DSC01710.jpg
DSC01715.jpg
DSC01716.jpg

Then we'll spend a few hours in MK, get the monorail to Epcot... and then slowly make our way back to the Boardwalk, to get the Magical Express to Orlando International :guilty:
Although I shouldn't feel too sad to leave WDW this time... as it'll be just 7 days til Christmas and almost 2011 - and getting even closer to our wedding!! :bride:

So that's the plans so far.... any thoughts or suggestions from anyone? :goodvibes

I took my album and scanned the photos in that I have of my dollhouses. I didn't have a good photo of any of the stone ones. Those look awesome, but I can take a picture sometime soon, because I have one of the stone houses in my dining room today. The big one and the saloon are in crates in the garage. Not a good place for such expensive crafts, but I don't currently have room.

Oh I love Crystal Palace too, but I've only done dinner. I'd love to someday to a breakfast there. This August we've got a breakfast at Ohana, we haven't done that one since 2005. We have Chef Mickey, but its at 7:45am on the same day that DHS has early magic hours at 8am on the 2nd to last day before they close TSMM for a month! I am planning to cancel CM (I got it for Thanksgiving week anyway) so we can do rope drop. They do have rope drop on early magic mornings? Right:confused3 I've never made rope drop.

We loved Whispering Canyon Cafe. We did that for Thanksgiving dinner in 2007. It was great. We were a party of 8 so we had a table in a more secluded private area with a cozy fireplace. Since it was Thanksgiving, they "production" they usually do. The whole WL looked so warm and cozy and Christmassy. I thought I'd uploaded a pic to facebook in my Nov07 album, but the WL pics aren't there. I'll have to see what I have. I know I was totally impressed with the size of the Christmas tree and the ornaments were HUGE!!

Emma your plans sound great and the surprise sleigh ride sounds like a wonderful idea. Hope you guys enjoy and look forward to pics of that :goodvibes

Mindy your doll houses are awesome :goodvibes

All your plans sound wonderful! December in Disney is great. So much to see and do with all the holiday stuff. Looking forward to hearing all about it and of course your NY trip :)

Wow...Im excited to read your trip report! :lmao: Everything looks great! I never knew anything about a sleigh ride...btw, Im sorry, I have to ask. What's EMH? There's so many Disney things that I need to learn, lol.

EMH is 'extra magic hours' :goodvibes

Just booked the sleigh ride today! it's 180days away (!) and I got the exact time I wanted... dying to tell DF about it but I really want it to be a surprise for him! :santa:

Thank you! I can't wait to head back to WDW in December... and NYC! Plans for New York are a bit more vague... that part of the vacation will be a lot more 'go with the flow' than the Disney days lol.

What is the weather normally like in December in NYC? is it likely to be snowing?!

Yes I will take lots and lots of photos! Steve will have his camera too so we could have about 1000 photos in total :goodvibes - we'll probably take a laptop with us (free wifi at the New Yorker hotel and we get free internet being DVC members at the Boardwalk! Steve will 'need' to keep up to date with the football/sports news while we're away lol) so then we can upload the pics & clear memory sticks if necessary... what with New York too, I imagine there's going to be a lot of photos!

Emma princess: x

ps - you doll houses do look impressive Mindy! :)

Usually freezing. Make sure you have your winter coat, hat, gloves, scarfs and Uggs. It depends on snow. You never can tell but it will be cold. These might come in handy in Disney also because December has been really cold in Disney before. Any other NY questions, let me know :thumbsup2

It really depends. Last year, we had a major snow storm in December but because it's still the start of winter, it could be 30 degrees one week and 50 another. Would you like there to be snow?! Haha, it might make NYC seem more like it does in the movies in winter time! It's ALWAYS snowing winter movies in NYC!

Do you have a plan for NYC yet or just going to go with the flow. Are you going to go to that BBQ place that I told you about?

Thank you.. already bought my coat for next winter and NYC! it's bright pink (of course!) and I got it in a sale for £25 (about $40) a few months ago :goodvibes

last December in WDW it was pretty warm most days (compared to England, anyway!) and I wore shorts & flip flops everyday.. but we'll pack for all weathers this year! :santa:

Lol it's Steve actually who really wants there to be snow! like you say, I think it's because most movies show New York in the snow.. central park all covered in white! ;)

I have started a list of things we'd like to do in NYC but not quite sure how to group them together for our days in the city... the first evening there I think we'll try out that restaurant you told me about! It'll be perfect as it's so close to our hotel :goodvibes

Btw is the World of Disney store still in New York? I read it was being moved/refurbished... yes yes I know, we'll be headed to WDW straight after NYC.. but I do love Disney stores and the WoD store sounded great! :rolleyes1

Hmm, I haven't been into the city in a while so I'm not sure but I heard it was supposed to close at the end of the year. Haven't heard anything about it reopening in a new location. A while ago, I heard they were looking at a times square location but that couldn't have happened yet because I definitely would have heard about it!

The WOD was amazing! Not like the Disney Stores at all. It really was just like the WOD at DTD. Sold all WDW and DL merch as well as NYC specific merch. So cool!
