I know this has been addressed before, but I could not find it. If I have points transferred to my account, can I bank those points for use next year? Thanks.

Yes, transferred points may be banked.

However, banked points cannot be transferred. That's the difference.

Transfered points can be banked as long as you are within the banking window of the transferor's use year when you go to bank.

Hmmm ... interesting! Please help clarify something for me. If my use year is August and can I purchase transfer points for a November trip now and bank them to use in November? Did I make any sense? I've been looking for transfer points with a use year ofter November but perhaps I don't need to?

Transferred points may be banked even when they are past the banking window. I did this last year with points transferred from my brother. His use year is August. He transferred points to me the end of May '07. I was able to bank those pts. as soon as they showed up in my acct. It took approx. 2 days for them to appear in my acct. Remember they do retain their home resort and use year status.

I've seen this reported before, and it sure looks like a loophole to the new 4 month banking rule. Not a big exploit, but something to use/abuse, and depending on DVC's concern, may change. Might help those with multiple contracts to increase their flexibility just a bit more.
