Baltimore BOT-Fest

Sara - Thinking of you. :grouphug:

Dave - That's awesome man! Can't beat a free trip. I wonder if you will get to meet some athletes. If you do...make sure to kick Donavan McNabb in the shin for me. Just kidding...get his autograph and then kick him. I like your Chicago 2011 suggestion.

Cindy/Chester - The AC marathon is 10/27. http://www.atlanticcitymarathon.org/ It's kind of a weird looping course but you run on the boardwalk a lot. I run down there a few times a year and always enjoy it.

Chester - Stay positive. Maybe this is a chance for something new.

Jodi - MCM is out for me. Although it is tempting to see everyone.

Hey to everyone I missed!

Philly has a relay in July. http://www.20in24.com You run around the Schuylkill River 8.4 mile loop as many times as you can. They even have a Pajama Run. Jodi, you can wear your bag lady costume from NYC.

No running for me today. I bagged because of the cold. I think I'll run both days this weekend at the gym.

Lou

I know right... I feel so left out!! :guilty:
Kevin - Come on in! Are you planning anything for MCM this year?

So you're seriously considering that 50 miler?
I'm 75% hoping I don't get picked in the little lottery they do. That way I wouldn't have to do it but still could have my pride intact.

how is your random foot pain?
Better...but my achilles on the same foot hurt a heck of a lot on yesterday's 9 miler. I take my normal ostrich approach and ignore it and hope it goes away.

Bundle up for your 8 miler.

It seems that along with being super fast, you are also quite intellectual.
Any takers?? Jodi?

Dave[/B] - That's awesome man! Can't beat a free trip. I wonder if you will get to meet some athletes. If you do...make sure to kick Donavan McNabb in the shin for me. Just kidding...get his autograph and then kick him.
Dave - Don't kick him too hard. There's a few rumors in Cleveland that the Browns may try to pick McNabb up. Lou may not be a big fan but his QB rating was higher than both of Cleveland's starters added together.

Chester - Hang in there man. I'm sure good things will come.

Sara -

Dave - How'd you do on your 8-miler in the tundra? I chickened out and ran indoors today.

Mike - The general consensus on McNabb is he is a nice guy but will never win the big game. He will be forever remembered in Philly as the second Philly QB (Jaworski) to puke in the Super Bowl. You don't want him in Cleveland. I actually think he would be perfect for Oakland.

Got in 7 miles in 55:18 (7:54 mpm pace) at the gym. Felt pretty good. I ran one mile at 6:49 mpm pace to see how it feels (it hurts). Need to find a way to run 10 miles at that pace for Broad St.

Hey Lou, it was just a 6 miler for me (that's what I was planning). I think Cindy was doing 8. It went well. I bundled up, and was plenty warm enough

There's been some discussion of McNabb coming here to Buffalo too. The Bills would be lucky to get a QB like him.

Good job on the 7 miler at sub 8 mpm pace. Wow! :worship:

Dave - Nice job! 6 miles in this cold is still very good. It's like 20 degrees and snowing here. Yes, there are Buffalo rumors going around. Just remember you guys got T.O. and look at what he brought to the team. If they can get a #1 pick for McNabb I think he's yours.

Lou - That may be true but remember, there aren't many "big games" when you are 5-11. Add the QB stats for the 5 wins: - 24 completions for 377 yards and 4 INTs. That's for all 5 games TOTAL. Yikes!

Nice pace on the TM! I'm always about 1 minute per mile slower on the contraption of torture.

Dave - Kudos for getting outside. You're a better man than I, Gunga Din.

I did manage 5 miles this evening on the TM. I watched a couple of episodes of 30 Rock on demand. I've only seen it a couple of times but man, that show makes me laugh!

We did our LRs last year while watching 30 Rock streaming on Netflix. Great show!

Dave: I finally found time to listen to the interview-- awesome job! It's a shame it wasn't a segment in the podcast.

Wow, that is rough! I liked Brady Quinn in college too but he doesn't look like the answer. The Browns need to get better because the Steelers need competition. You get McNabb and you will get back to the playoffs. The problem is he doesn't have "IT". Some QBs have IT and get to the big game and find a way to win at least one of them (either Manning, Roethlisberger, Warner, etc.). McNabb has the skills but not the heart. Too many seasons have ended with him throwing an interception or 4th down incompletion. Time for Kevin Kolb to show what he has got.

Thanks Jen, I appreciate it. Yes, I wish they at least mentioned the marathon on the podcast, but, alas, I don't think they're interested. You'd think 55,000 runners coming in for the weekend would merit a mention on the show. Thanks for listening to the interview, and Happy Birthday!!!

I agree Dave. Obviously there is major interest in the Disney all of the running events when you look at the number of people they are bringing in for these races. One of the other podcasts dedicated a show to the weekend but that was it. I think it is time for you to spin off and create your own podcast.

By the way, my $0.02 is that Disney needs to cap the number of racers. I ran in 2008 and this year and the number of runners increased significantly. The expo was way too crowded and the transportation to and from the races was MAXED out. I sat on a bus for an hour on marathon day and it got so bad that one guy started throwing up. The races have exceeded even Disney's ability to manage the masses.

I'm headed out to attempt a run in a few minutes. We got a little over 6 inches of snow yesterday and since the temps are well below freezing and they don't clear the trails, it's obviously still there. I'm hoping enough people have walked on the trails that the snow is packed down enough that I can run on it. We'll see. This could be a big mess. Not sure I'll be able to get 8 miles in. I'll be pretty happy if I can manage 6.

Cindy: good luck with getting the run in- we got only about an inch or so here

Lou: I agree with you on the numbers of runners-- the expo was an absolute zoo, you could barely turn around in there. Trying to get Sarah to the kids race after the half was ridiculous. We had to wait for a while to get the bus back to our resort and got stuck in traffic on the way to WWoS despite allowing 1.5 hours from when I finished the race :confused3

I've been looking at some of the relays and I am way too slow for lots of the time requirements-- I can swing 11 min miles but I would not be able to do 10min miles for very long. I'm a good driver though...

Howard - I just signed up for Caesar Rodney. Although I dread this course I always like the race. Best post-race food of any race...pizza.

Happy Day 2 of the NC Blizzard of 2010!

Methinks a good way to spend a snowy day in NC is to plan my summer vacations!:beach: Yes, there is a foot of snow on the ground here and people are slowly starting to get around. Almost all church services were cancelled today. That is huge! I am tucked up in my house, searching for beach rental properties. :yay::yay: I think we will go to Hilton Head Island for a week in June, Canada for a few weeks in July, and I need one more outing in August.

The extent of my workouts the last few days has been, consume a cup or two of coffee in the morning, baking cookies for 7 kids in the afternoon, and searching for beach rental properties in the evening....throw in a few games of Wii Sports Resort, Blockus and Monopoly (and eating way too many cookies) adds up to a great snowy weekend.

Hope you all are doing well!

Happy Birthday Jen!!

I'm back. I only ran 5 miles because (and I should have known this) snow running is exhausting!!! It takes so much effort to push off the ground. Matt actually ran 10 miles which I give him a ton of credit for doing!

Chester - You may not be watching soap operas yet, but it's clear you are already going brain dead...as I think you've known for a while that my name is spelled JodI...not Y, as in your last post.

Drunken-ride-buddy-Cindy - How did your run go in the snowy cold trails? Nothin' for me today - not feeling so good .

BQ-Cindy - There are 2 1/2 marathons I'm seriously considering in NH...one on May 8 around Lake Winna....whatever & one on April 11 greatbayhalf.com. Neither one of those is good pour vous?

Dave - Nice job on those 6 miles in 6 degrees yesterday...Do you think Disney will fly you out to DL in Sept. for the 1/2 out there??popcorn::

Mike - Here's to hoping you don't get in that 50-miler!:dance3:. So what's doin' on the other boards? popcorn:: :surfweb:. Did the BOTS (you) mess up?

Colleen - I like your training plan....drinking coffee, cookies & games :thumbsup2. If we could sneak a little alcohol in there we'd be all set. What about the BOT cruise in August?

Lou - Cesar R, again? Hmm....I'm thinking seriously about that Atlantic City Marathon...I think it's 10/7 or 10/17, though.

Jen - Happy Birthday!! How's the kitty??. Your pace would be fine for a relay...some of the faster BOTS (not me) will make up for us slower weenies.

Howard - At the gym?popcorn::

Sara - Please type leavemealone if you're lurking & nothing if you're not.

Yellow stuff has invaded my nose & for fear of too hefty of an effect on my snot rockets I have taken a few days off. Did take the mutts for a quick hike @ the local park, though. Maybe now they'll stop staring @ me .

Sara :hug:wanted me to update you all on her surgery. There were complications with the procedure, so yesterday evening, they decided to put a trach in to help her breathe. She will be in the hospital until Tuesday. Please send prayers, positive thoughts, etc. to our dear friend.:grouphug:

Also wanted to add, she assured me she is OK!

We love you girl!

Colleen - Thanks for updating us.

Sara - (for when you read this):hug::hug::hug: Thanks for updating Colleen. I was definitely starting to get worried.

Thanks for the update, Sara!!:grouphug: Sending you positive thoughts!!

And of course, thanks for sending the message along, Colleen.
