I am going to italy next month and need a bag for my daily siteseeing and what have you. I wont be carrying a cellphone as they dont work over there.. but a small camera and i am not sure what else depends on the weather i guess :confused3 anyways i dotn want to carry a huge bag around and want to be able to wear it across my body in the front. So which do you think is better the Baggallini large wallet bagg or the small one? also what is ripstop nylon?? Any other bag suggestions even? THANKS!!:thumbsup2

I don't know if this will help you much, but I just purchased the Baggallini ripstop messenger bag from REI outlet a few weeks ago. Its one of the discontinued colors--pink, which is fine with me. It does sling across the body and there are plenty of pockets. Plenty of space for a camera, wallet, sunscreen, lightweight jacket, and bottled water. It may be a little too large for what you're looking for, but it would be a perfect size for me while travelling. Plenty of space to throw in any little souvenirs!

As for the material, it feels like any other nylon bag that I've owned, so I can't really vouch for it pros/cons.

BTW, the messenger bag is still on sale at REI outlet for less than $18, so it may be worth looking into there.

Hope this helps just an eensy teensy bit. I do enjoy my bag and would recommend it for travelling anywhere.

Hi!
I have both wallets. Cant say I like either one. Thougt I use the larger one all the time. I bought them on both on clearance at rei this year. The small one I have may be defective. The slots to put my driver license in is too small. If I put in the cc slots I am afraid it will fall out. I do like that it can go around the waist for rides etc. As for the big wallet, it also does not have a secure place for my dr's license and the slots for money do not seem secure either. I lose stuff in them all the time. My regular wallet is too long to fit in it. I am looking for one of those small id holders then maybe I will like the larger wallet purse. Sorry I love the idea of the wallets but they were not quite what I needed. I really really wanted to enjoy them. But like I said maybe once I find the id wallet thingy I will like the larger wallet.

Hope this helps.

hmm thanks for the responses...ill keep them in mind :thumbsup2 .. any other ideas?

Just a thought. And I don't h ave a bagallini, but if traveling I would suggest something with inside pockets for your wallet and camera. If someone is going to rip you off they'll cut the bottom of the bag or your strap. At least with inside pockets only change or maps will drop out of the inside large middle pocket.

I have the travelon bag from QVC - you can wear it across your body and it holds my small camera a bottle of water and has room for much more with out being too big.

this is a good point..

I have both Bagallini Wallet bags, and use them for travel because they are so lightweight and can't get scuffed up. I usually prefer the small one, but it is quite small and I'm not sure a camera would fit if you wanted to carry anything else in it. Even the large one is the size of a medium purse, so if you want to carry an umbrella, book, water, etc, you need to get a small daypack instead.

If you look on Ebags, you will find countless choices. Eagle Creek is usually a good bet.

Rick Steves also has nice, lightweight daypacks. He sells them on his website, but I think a few other places carry them as well.

I bought the Baggellini City Bag after I could not find the messenger bag at at store (I wanted to try it on to make sure it worked and not have to send something back). I went to our local AAA office. They had this bag there, I tried it on...it went across by body and hung at the front of my hips. I took this bag to DW in Sept and to Paris in Oct (which normally I had taken somethign that was hidden underneath my clothes) but I figured this would be around my neck and across my body and to my front...so if someone would try to take it...they would have to choke me first...I spend a week in Paris and a lot of the time by myself and it worked perfectly (and I have a bigger digital camera) They run about $50. I liked it soo much it is now my regualr purse.

oo i like this one.. i think i will be ordering it unless something else comes along! Thanks for thinking of me!!:flower3:

I have this same one as well. I also like my overland donner juno...very nice size.
