Bad Ticket from UCT?

I'm attempting to link the tickets I received from Under Cover Tourist and I'm a little concerned. I'm getting a warning when I go to link them. It says that I need to verify that one of my tickets will actually be used by that person because previously used tickets must be used by the same guest. The error only occurs on one of the 5 tickets I bought which has me concerned that UTC has given me a ticket that's been used by someone else. I did not go through and continue to link it. Anyone else ever gotten this error?

I would call UCT. They have a lot of experience and may know what the issue is. I know they have intervened with Disney on behalf of people on this board in the past.

We have bought from them a number of times.

I agree that UCT will make it right, but do post what they think the issue was! Just curious, it is odd.

No one knows. UCT said call Disney. Disney says they can't see anything wrong with it and recommended just linking it anyway. Their best guess is a glitch with MDE (not that that ever happens, right :crazy2:). So I went ahead and linked it and hope we don't run into issues when we show up at the tapstiles.

because of an unrelated issue I was checking out the UCT BBB profile. someone else has complained about being sold duplicate tickets. it is probably a rare occurrence and I didn't read through the whole complaint, just thought I would mention it.

Yeah, I need to call them back today to have them record it on my order that I raised the issue before linking it in case there is a problem later.

I would make sure that you bring a copy of your receipt with you, in case you have an issue when you trying using the ticket in the park. I would also make sure that you arrive to your first park planning to have to stand in line at Guest Services or call UCT to attempt to resolve an issue.

Bringing your receipt won't do much when you are at Disney since UCT is a third party seller. If there is any issue Disney will say sorry you can either buy full price from us right now or deal with your third party but they will not issue a refund or new ticket based on a UCT receipt.

Would they let you send the ticket back and have a new one issued? If they have a way to confirm it's not been used before, then they should let you exchange it for your own peace of mind. I might push back a little on them, especially if Disney didn't have an explanation either.

Then there you go.

Shocked, shocked I tell you! (not shocked)

So I went ahead and linked it

If it had bene used by someone else it would not have been able to be linked.

I see you jined 2 years after the big AK/Guest Services/UCT nonsense that happened. January 2011 some CMs (including a manager, I believe) suddenly went rogue on a UCT ticket user, saying all sorts of crud about upgrading and blah blah blah. It was a more complicated situation (upgrading to a DVC AP renewal) but nothing that hadn't been done before. Because the GS people were so adamant about it, UCT got involved, helped with some retraining, got policies traightened out, etc. Disney absolutely worked with UCT and UCT worked with Disney.

(it was an epic thread here)

And as we can see from the OP's followup, Disney did NOT just tell her they couldn't help. They looked at the ticket info, said it was fine, said it was likely just a glitch, and the system let her link it.

If they have a way to confirm it's not been used before

Disney said it was fine and the system let her link it. That's all the confirmation I would need.

I'd still be a little nervous. MDE may be glitchy, but Disney phone reps aren't the most reliable either. And the system would let the OP link it regardless - the initial problem was just a warning that it must be linked to the same person, and would let the OP push it through.

I wasn't a member for then but doesn't mean I didn't lurk. What I am saying is that if Undercover Tourist did sell a faulty ticket even if by accident Disney is not going to suddenly honor that ticket. They will tell you to take it up with the third party. Just like if I buy tickets from plumbenefits, expedia, travelocity, wherever they will say sorry you need to contact the third party vendor.

Upgrading the tickets is an entirely different scenario than buy a partially used ticket.

Bring the receipt; not to show Disney, but in case you need to call UCT, the info on it might be useful.

Just an update. I called them back to be sure everything was on record. I talked to someone who seemed senior who explained that they've had the occasional issue with MDE. They had my earlier call on record and while we were talking she called out to the woman I talked to this morning. She noted my comments and said if there was a problem at the gate they would issue another ticket on the spot. Granted there is no guarantee but I got the distinct impression they are a small company and want to do right by their customers so I'm not going to worry about it. Much better talking with them than Comcast (which was my other customer service call today) or even Disney itself.

Not my experience with UCT, but I used Park Savers and had an issue where my voucher numbers were inadvertently mixed with another purchaser. I had linked the numbers they sent me and on my last ticket, it advised me that I was linking a child's admission to an adult. Strange. I called, they said they would investigate, and took care of it behind the scenes without my help. Another person received the same numbers (which were theirs) and could not link them because it said they were already assigned (by me). The wrong order was sent to me, and my order was never sent. Park Savers contacted Disney and had the correct vouchers linked with the correct person. No issue entering the parks on the tickets.

While not the same situation, MDE would not let someone double link a ticket/voucher number to a different person once it is already linked from the guests end. Additionally, if that ticket was "partially" used, it would drop off your MDE within 14 days from its first use because the admission would expire. I see your trip is almost four months away based on your signature. If you see a ticket drop off of your reservations and tickets page, I would contact UCT. This would be plenty of time away form your FP+ selection and arrival.

It seems like it should be ok and US is definitely willing to correct it if not!

We bought tickets directly from Disney and had big problems with DS' ticket for a few days. The CM at Guest Services said that the ticket number appeared to be issued to two different people. Weird.

Or, maybe they were issued to two different weird people.

;)

I really do not think that could happen. I think that an error message could be in error (oh I remember the days of "you do not have any reservations" when people absolutely did), but I truly do not think someone could actually link it if it was already USED by someone else.

So it's almost like, and maybe I'm off here, the problem is on DISNEY's end. The ticket Disney sold UCT is wrong. So it's Disney's issue afterall?
