What’s for Dinner Tonight?

We ate a slightly more adult meal tonight. I've been haunting the farmer's market waiting for new baby potatoes to arrive and today was the day!! This is truly one of the little blessings that makes life worth living. Boiled then bathed in butter and finished with fresh dill and cracked pepper - perfection. The potatoes were the main event with some BBQ pork chops and peas on the side.

We had chicken salad croissants with fresh from my family’s garden corn on the cob. So good!

We made poblano and cheese tamales and Chile verde for sauce, cherry cheesecake bars for dessert

Last night we ordered Chipotle. I had one of their chicken burrito bowls. Dh made grilled pork chops on Friday. We finished off the pasta salad with that. Today I want to go to the butcher to get a freezer package for the summer.

We're leaving town for a couple of days, just to relax and get away from all the work that keeps popping up.
Not sure about dinner yet. I think we will be eating in our room, so stopping at a store on the way there.......

Just got back from the butcher. I make up my own freezer packs instead of going with their standard options. I was #97 and by the time I finished with my order, they were back around to #46. $500 later, we’re good for the next three months. The fish looked really good so we decided on tuna steaks for tonight. I’ll make the coconut rice to go along with it. And some sort of vegetable. I picked up a few chicken kabobs for dd who doesn’t like fish. Dh will have quite a few choices to smoke for us this summer!

No idea on dinner, as I’m getting a late start on going out to get topsoil for my garden. I’m more inclined at the moment to have a 2 martini lunch and call it a day! Hahahaha!

We shacked up today. We tried Shanks today. It was just ok. Beautiful location but food was meh. The chowder and lobster bisque were just ok. Calamari was a bit greasy. The scallops were not as sweet as last weekend and a bit greasy. The lobster roll was superb. Not pictured are whole belly clams that S gave a thumbs down. She said they were tough and greasy.

Sunday night is scrounging night in our house. The big meal is after church.

We shacked up today. We tried Shanks today. It was just ok. Beautiful location but food was meh. The chowder and lobster bisque were just ok. Calamari was a bit greasy. This place was byob. I have been getting my champs locally. I cannot recommend this vineyard enough if you enjoy sparkling wine.

Love that it’s owned by a husband & wife!! So fun.
I’m a BIG sparkling wine & champagne fan. I want to visit their VIP bubble lounge!

My husband made a command decision today and we went to one of our fav Mexican places for a late lunch. I had 2 skinny margaritas, so hubs was my DD to the garden center. Picked up the topsoil I needed and some BBQ tools as well.

Do they sell oysters or maybe it was clams by the bushel? The locale looks kind of familiar.

We had franks and baked beans today with a side of broccoli slaw because somebody loves it. DGD has gone out with her friends and I hope she gets dessert out in the streets I don’t need the temptation.

They did not sell oysters or clams in the shell, just fried. It was nice because once you ordered they brought you your food. Which is fancy for a shack They are in Clinton, right next to Lobster Landing. They serve the food out of a boat.

@LoveDaisy Okay, that would be a different place that sells them by the bushel. Maybe the Lobster Pound in Guilford? So many good places to eat, so little time .
