Hi All,
We just returned from our OKW vacation on fri night and can't wait to go back to the World in Dec.
First let me tell you about OKW - after you go through the gate and get "WELCOMED HOME" you head towards the checkin you go over a small road over the water and on the passengers side you see a water fountain/spout and lush tropical green everywhere - you see some of the villas that look out over this from a patio/deck - First impressions "BEAUTIFUL" . We had arrived early on a Sunday so our room(You really can't call it a room) wasn't ready but the CMs at checkin took all our food and luggage and stored it and we parked the car and explored the land. OKW has everything you need for a relaxing vacation - The main pool is probably the busiest but we hopped in at 1pm on sunday and it didn't feel crowded and it wasn't loud, pool towels were abundant, and we found chairs easily - DD & DN both 7y/o, enjoyed swimming under the bridge. At 3pm checked to see if room was ready and it was rm 5311. We picked up our stuff being stored and headed over to our
room - UNBELEIVABLE!! it was huge - as you enter on the R is a closet take a few more steps and you see the large livingrm/kitchen (open concept design) this area alone is bigger than any motel/hotel room I have stayed in. But wait go down the hall and go through door #1 its the laundry room cont through the next door its part 1 of the bthrm - shower, vanity, tiolet and cont through the next door and its the jacuzzi tub and sink and a double closet cont through the next door and its the bdrm its huge! and you can enter onto the deck from the bdrm as well as from the lvg/kit the deck was approx 9"x12" had a table and 4 chairs our veiw was of part of golf course but not at a hole/stop and the deck gave the feel of being very private - the decor is tasteful and relaxing and the unit was spotless - bottom line we are looking to add on 150pts to OKW because we loved it that much!
Ok our vaction day 1
OKW pool until about 3pm then to our unit showered dressed and off to Chef Mickeys for supper at 7p food was good and DD & DN had the Characters sign a t-shirt then after a long leisurely dinner down to the marina to board a pontoon boat to see th MK fireworks - got on the boat at 9pm toured bay lake and the 7 seas lagoon guide had lots of trivia for the kids, prior to seeing the fireworks had an up close viewing of the water parade it was great! The fireworks although not up close and personal was fantastic close enough to enjoy yet no crowds! what was supposed to be 45min cruise ended up being a almost 1and 1/2 hr.
Day 2
pool hopped to VWL kids loved the slide kept them amused for 3hours - pool is wonderful - water flows from the main lodge lobby cascading down over rock through brook like areas that are landscaped beautifully and finally into the main pool. we really didn't explore much because we stayed at the pool 2ndary to the very hot and humid weather. that night after we ate at our villa - we headed over to EPCOT walked on to Spaceship earth, only waited 20minutes to ride TESTTRACK - explored innovations, walked part of the worlds we rode the ride at MEXICO and when we left this pavilion we headed up towards GERMANY to the picture spot saw the parade and had an unobstructed view of Illuminations.
DAy3
stayed at OKW pool - took a nap - headed over to MK around 530pm ate at Crystal palace (by the way our waiter told us that CP is closing in a couple weeks and will not reopen until 2wks before xmas), as always enjoyed it - after supper we enjoyed alittle main st shopping, Fantasy land rides - then headed to SM, only 25minutes wait and after picked up e-ride wrist bands and enjoyed our fav rides numerous times with very little waiting and at about 12:50am headed back to OKW - it was a good day.
day4 and day 5
pool hopped over to BWV and the kids LOVED the Keister Coster water slide, actually we did too. The main pool at BWV is very popular - both days it was crowded but not uncomfortable. WE HAD A GREAT TIME HERE. Both evening were spent eating supper at OKW and enjoyed the smaller pool that was a 2 minute walk from our unit. very nice - although the water was alittle on the warm side.
Day 6 checkout
Went to DTD alittle shopping and DQ for about 3hours then off to airport goodbye WDW
