Just curious if it is fairly easy to go back and forth between the ship and CC, or if it's pretty much go and then once you decide to leave you are back on the boat for the day?

In my head, I'd like to get off as soon as we can to grab a spot and enjoy some beach time, have lunch, then head back to the room to change (maybe have DS grab a nap) then get back off to wander and ride bikes. Is that even feasible? (Knowing weather may make up my mind for me once there of course).

Thank you!

The ship is convenient. It's a little bit of a walk, but you could definitely do what you suggested.

Since ships are docked, it is easy to go back and forth. However, there is a bit of distance between the ship dock and the various beach areas. You can walk it or take a tram but depending on your walk stride, you can add 10-20 minutes for the walk to and fro.

You can absolutely do that. There are trams running back and forth between the ship and the various points of interest on the island, but you can walk, as well. I would say it's maybe a 5-10 minute walk from the pier to the Family Beach / BBQ / rentals area. The tram would be a bit faster, but you can do it either way. Sometimes there are also photo ops that you will drive right past if you are on the tram, so it's neat to walk it at least once. You may run across several photographers and characters walking between the ships and the beach area.

Certainly it's possible to come and go as you wish. The ship is a bit of a walk from the main beach area.
In this picture the red star (lower right) is where the dock meets the shore. The orange arrow is the tram stop "at" the dock. Yellow arrow #1 is the Family Beach & #2 is Pelican Plunge.

You could always rent a cabana if you had the money and you are Platinum or Conceirge ( they get booked up easily ) but now I am just tempting you!

I'm having flashbacks of the old DCL bus transfer video that had the gal hopping on and off the gangway saying, "I'm on the ship. I'm on the island. I'm on the ship. I'm on the island..."

I personally would just take whatever I wanted to change into and change there on the island (not that I would feel a need to change anyway, but that's me) with me. It may not be far, but all the back and forth would FEEL like wasted time to me.

Oh geez that would be nice! Maybe someday. ;)

Oh that's a good point. Are there decent changing areas on the island or would you use the restrooms?

No changing areas, unless you have a cabana. You would use the restrooms.

I had no issues changing in the restrooms after the 5K. I guess it just depends on what you're comfortable with.

Definitely can do but be sure to check all aboard time when thinking about naps and bicycling afterward. For our cruise after Thanksgiving the times for Castaway are listed as 9:15 - 4:30.

I forgot the no fog spray for our masks and went back to the ship to get it. Not ideal, but definitely doable, especially if you take the tram. Have sooo much fun!!
