Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

I love the splashing through your photos water drop by water drop. (Yes, I had to work hard to think of that one!) It's been far too ling since I've been on it -- it was being refurbed last time we were there.

i enjoyed my ride on splash mountain with you! but i do have to admit - i wore a poncho. i HATE walking around wet!

that's very similar to our plan! we don't usually get up early (we're just not morning people) but when we do a rope drop we always go to fantasyland first and knock out a few of those rides because that place is CRAZY the rest of the day. then we go to toon town for character meetings because it doesn't open until 10 usually. then either to tomorrowland or take the train to frontierland. it's always good to conquer fantasyland as early as possible!

Good plan, but we better stop telling our secrets or we're going to have more company than we want in the mornings!

I noticed your new, but tiny, picture in your signature, and I saw that Erica has hers, too.

TCKK - It made me panic just to read about your daughter being on Splash Mountain without you beside her! I'm sure glad she didn't bounce out of there. You must have been ready to climb over the seat to check on her! Your husband needs to ride it, too. I'll be glad when Brooklynn can go on this with us. I think she'll love it!

moparop - It is a fun ride. I think it was being worked on during one of our trips, too, but I can't remember which one.

Maybe they'll come up with a Wheezy show to go in the new Toy Story section over at Hollywood Studios. We're looking forward to riding that - Jill for points and me for pictures. My score thingy will still say 00000 when I come out, but I hope to get some good pictures as my prize.

Yes, we're doing Reading and Math. I've got the Reading part. We start tomorrow. It's a good deal, really. The kids get free tutoring, and it's also free childcare up until 12, when you think about it, and a free lunch, and free transportation home. All the parents have to do is get them there in the morning. Pretty decent deal, I'd say. It makes it a little easier on all those Grandmas who have to watch kids in the summer. These kids won't be getting back to them until about 12:30 every day, so that should ease up things for everyone.

SwansLoveDisney - Don't you just wish someone high up in Disney would say enough with the Stitch attraction and go in there and make something really good with it. I just think that the Stitch theme could be made into a good ride or attraction, but the popular opinion is that they failed miserably with what they did.

Nothing against Stitch, of course. We've got a date with him and his pals at 'Ohana on July 5th, and we're quite excited about that!

Our ticker is now reading 26 days, 10 hours, and 54 minutes!

If you all get the Food Network, they're going to be making Disney Pixar cakes in just a little while on the Challenge show.

MeMom what are your exact dates again?? I have a coworker friend that is disney obsessed (almost like me!) and is going to POP for SW weekends the last week of June...he's asked me to come join him a few times but I'm hesitant because I want to keep August as special as possible! But a chance to see MeMom & Gang?? Hmmm i may have to think about this!

My kids forbid me to wear a poncho on rides. They think it's quite funny when I get soaked. I duck, though, every time I know there's a splash coming. Whenever you see our picture on the screen, there's just an empty place where I'm sitting, since I'm taking cover down below!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeee that was fun! Thanks for the ride on SM! What fun...I feel like I should buy a park ticket or something!:rotfl:

Wow, everyone is typing on top of each other tonight!

We're arriving the 28th of June and staying until the 7th of July. Come on up! We'll be at Magic Kingdom on arrival day, and we have reservations at Crystal Palace at around 4:00. I think it's at 4:15, to be exact. Since Trent, Kristi, and Drew aren't coming, we have open spots. Are you interested? That would be fun!!! We'll be at Hollywood Studios first thing Sunday morning the 29th, since that's the last day of SWW. We don't know nuthin' about Star Wars (well, John might), but Jill and I just want to see all the characters in their outfits, and of course we want to be in on every special thing Disney does, so we can mark this off of our list.

You need to come on up. We'll be at Pop, too! You're close enough just to drive up for an overnighter, and we'd love to have you guys join us at Crystal Palace. We were counting on the whole gang being there, but now it's just going to be the four of us. It would be fun to have a table full!

We could even go over and scope out AKL for your August trip, if you wanted to.

Were you splashing water on your face as your read along? That would have made it more fun! :)

thanks for my ride!! And, btw, I am completely soaked on my right side. I always sit on the right!;)

What do you mean you duck??? What kind of adventurer are you?

What kind of adventurer? A very dry one, my Canadian friend! Dry shoes, dry camera, and dry hair. :thumbsup2

Unlike hlrababy, who walks away with an awesome Splash picture, but a completely soaked right side! :)

I love the ride, and the fall doesn't bother me a bit. I'm not afraid of heights at all, and I deal with the claustrophobia because you can usually see an opening of some kind nearby. But what would be scary is what I would look like with my hair drenched, if I allowed that to happen. Very scary indeed!

But how would we know? You never appear in the pictures. :rotfl:

You'd probably hear something about it on the news. It would headline something like this - "There was mass chaos in Disney World today, as hundreds of people ran screaming from Splash Mountain. It seems that one of the Haunted Mansion spooks had gotten loose...."
and then they would show a bird's-eye view of people all scattering all over the place, and they'd highlight a poor innocent MeMom who just set out for a little fun in the briar patch.

While I've got you on the line, can you tell me what you think of the Panasonic TZ5 camera and the Canon D50 (I think). I've got to get a new camera in the next week or two, and these seem to be the popular choices among the point and shoots.

No, make that Canon S5.

Lol.

Can't help you with the cameras, although Canon is usually a good camera. I don't think I have ever heard anything about Panasonic cameras.

Thanks anyway. That TZ5 is getting rave reviews, but it's very new. The Canon has a longer and good reputation. They're both around the same price, but neither of them is as good as the other camera I had, so I hope I'm not disappointed. I just really don't want to put $700-$800 into a camera right now. I'm going to have to get something cheaper, but not cheap, for now.

Glad you enjoyed the ride, jacobsmom00. We'll walk through Toontown next. It'll probably be Tuesday night.

I have an S5 that I dearly love! It has enough manual functions that I can do a lot with it, but is compact, which i also love. I found the learning curve to be easy and I am thinking of it as my bridge camera to my DSLR in a few years. If you ever want to see pics (I have some AMAZING Finding Nemo shots, if I do say so myself)... I'd be glad to share! :D

Share away! I think I have narrowed it down to those two, and I want to get whatever I get and play with it some before we leave. I wish I could bring them both home for a three day test run and then take back the one I don't want after that. That would be perfect! I want it to be simple to operate, and I want it to get good safari, show, parade, and fireworks pictures. That's a lot to ask!

In a side by side comparison, they each have their pros and cons. I think they're both going to produce similar pictures, so when it comes down to it, it'll probably be whatever one I find a good sale on. I'm going to make a decision this week or next so I will have time to fool around with it before we leave.

Please do show your pictures, and anyone else who has either one of those camera do so, as well.

Wow! It is so weird to see pictures of the opening show taking place in the dark. Your shots of the sun rising over Fantasyland are just lovely - almost enough to make me consider getting up that early myself at WDW :rotfl2: Maybe someday! It would be nice to walk on Peter Pan - I haven't ridden it in years because the line is always so long! And the morning light as the sun rises makes for some beautiful pictures.
Thanks for taking us along on my favorite ride, Splash Mountain!
