Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

on't know if you have been following this thread but people are REALLY singing the praises of the TZ5. They have tons of shots taken with itthrough all sorts of conditions. Sounds like a great little camera.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1838003

For me, having a viewfinder was important. While I use the LCD screen now and then... I don't feel like I am taking a pic unless I look through a viewfinder. Plus, it really helps me stabilize myself.

Ok... my photos. I got the camera in December and went to Disney in January. Here are a few of photos I took, all handheld:

Ok, thread hijacking is over! I can't wait to hear and see more of the spring fling!

Wow! It is so weird to see pictures of the opening show taking place in the dark. Your shots of the sun rising over Fantasyland are just lovely - almost enough to make me consider getting up that early myself at WDW :rotfl2: Maybe someday! It would be nice to walk on Peter Pan - I haven't ridden it in years because the line is always so long! And the morning light as the sun rises makes for some beautiful pictures.
Thanks for taking us along on my favorite ride, Splash Mountain!

If you can sacrifice one morning to get up early, you might be well rewarded. It's time for you to see Neverland again!

Lovemy3babes - Thanks, and I am still working on a new camera for this trip. I have it narrowed down to two, and I'm going to go to Best Buy tomorrow and see what's on sale there. If nothing changes much, I'll probably go back over to Circuit City and get one of the ones I tested out the other day.

moparop - Thanks for sharing your pictures! I'm more used to a camera that looks like the Canon, but the TZ5 is getting dynamite reviews, so I may have to just learn to get used to it. It is definitely smaller, too. I don't know. We're getting down to the wire!

Now, would you like to take a trip through Toontown?

Entering Minnie's very cute house.

241.jpg

She had the window guy there that day.

Cute photos.

242.jpg

I just noticed a hidden MeMom!!! I didn't pay any attention to that when I was taking it.

244.jpg

Minnie's magazines. What every modern young mouse reads...

245.jpg

and for such a great price.

Porch view from Minnie's house looking out into Toontown. She seems to live on quite a busy street.

turned into this!

That is quite an amazing cake!

Did you note the writing on the spice rack and range?

Award winning flowers.

265.jpg

More cuteness to follow.

267.jpg

We left Minnie's House and headed toward the Judge's Tent.

Brooklynn found something interesting, and she thought it might need to go in our basket.

Brooklynn had a lot of fun with these.

279.jpg

I stayed with her while she played with them so Mommy could shop.

280.jpg

Note that she indeed did put an ear on top of the head. She doesn't quite know what to do, yet, but she had fun sticking things in random holes for quite a while.

Then it was time to go to Mickey's house.

278.jpg

That'll have to wait until tomorrow, though. Hope you don't mind hanging out in Toontown for the night.

you look so intent on getting a good picture in that "hidden memom" picture. the sign of a true disney photographer! :cool2:

Hope you don't mind hanging out in Toontown for the night.

if only.....:cloud9:

Loved the "hidden MeMom"!! you took such great pictures with a the great details! Don't mind hanging out here for the night!:cool2:

After looking at your pics I told DH I'd like to go through Mickey and Minnie's House again. I haven't been there since the kids were really little. Thanks for the pics and the reminder as to what I've been missing.

I love all the little details you photographed! We really enjoyed their houses last time but felt a bit rushed going through. I never even saw Minnie's magazines; super cute!

Just hang out for the rest of the day, too, and we'll go to Mickey's house this evening.

And to you and punkin, the hidden MeMom was a total surprise to me. I was totally focused on those three pictures, as evidenced by my face. Now I know just what I look like to others when I'm standing in a gift shop taking a picture of a row of trading pins, or setting up a plate just right to take a picture of our food, or over at the side of fence taking a picture of something no one else wants a picture of.

Lovemy3babes and TCKK - I hope you do get a chance to take a little time as you go through this cute little town. There are many cool details for you and the kids to see.

This morning's countdown is reading
24 days, 23 hours, 45 minutes!

Jill sent me a phone picture of a Mickey head countdown calendar she has made for Brooklynn. Like Dawn's, she's going to have a sticker to look at as she lifts each one up.

Also, I don't remember if I wrote this, but we did get our Magical Express stuff last week, so we're one step closer.

Have a good day, all!

so much fun! it gives you something to look forward to every morning when you wake up, even if it's something small. i hope jill will post a picture of brooklynn with it!

MeMom, I`m loving your pictures of MK. I found myself tearing up looking at them, And we went on Splash Mountain! :cool1: That was soo much fun.
I keep going back and forth on our long weekend no kids trip at POP in October. but looking at your wonderful pictures made my decision a snap! I`M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!! :woohoo: Thank you! I love, love Minnies house! looking forward to more!
And a yippe to you for getting your ME documents!!!!

great update and pics

love the hidden MeMom. :woohoo:

I really need to look more closely around her house. I missed quite a bit.

MeMom -- So loving the pictures. You pay so much attention to detail. I don't have much time on my trip, so I know I will be all over the place (in a very organized fashion of course). Only three more days.
I also just did my dining for November...
November 28th - Dinner at Teppan Edo.
November 29th -- Dinner at Raglan Road
November 30th - Dinner at Le Celier. Yippee!

Now we're off to Mickey's House!

Some kitchen renovations were going on.

297.jpg

I do wonder if it will come out as they have planned.

298.jpg

Personally, I do not think they have a snowball's chance in 'the hot place' of winning in this decorating contest.

When they are taking breaks from their work of destroying the kitchen, the gang plays in the game room.

299.jpg

It appears that Mickey has the home table advantage.

More to follow.

That was it for Magic Kingdom. We had a good time there.

One last look at the castle.

When we got on the bus, I asked Brooklynn how she had enjoyed her day.
She had no answer, as she was fast asleep.

Memom, I love those pics. I can't wait to go see Mickey and Minnie's House. I have pictures, but they are from before I had a digital camera. I'm looking forward to getting pics this time when we go. I love having my pictures on the computer so I can get to them any time I want. I usually only print the ones I want to scrapbook. The rest I just leave in a file on my computer. Anyway, your pictures have been so fun to look at. Thank you again.

Pay attention Scott! :rotfl2: in Sept I stopped at her answering machine and recorded her outgoing message to my cell phone voice mail! i used it for a few months! :lmao:

Splash Mountain is very fun!

I'm glad you're getting another Disney trip! They should have referral cards, and when a person (say...me!) racks up a whole lot of referrals, they ought to get a free night or a few Disney dollars or something. I've convinced people to take trips, and so has Jill, and if Disney could take note of that and give us a little perk, that would be just fabulous! :)

What days are you going in October? I know you want to get away from kids and all, but Jill, John, and Brooklynn will be down there the first part of October, so maybe you guys could meet up for a minute if your trips overlap.

TCKK - Your husband is going to end up hating me! He might not be so thrilled at looking at a girl mouse's kitchen. It might not me such a manly thing to go back to work and tell the guys!

punkin and pooksma - Hopefully, Jill can get a good picture of the countdown chart soon. I only have the phone picture, but I'm looking forward to seeing it in person.

scottny - Don't feel bad. I doubt very many men give Minnie's house much thought. I'm guessing most guys get sidetracked whe they see the cake and it reminds them that it surely must be time to eat something somewhere.

snowbell - Is the 28th Friday? If so, we will be in Epcot, hopefully staying to see one of the Candlelight Processional shows that night. I'm looking forward to eating at LeCellier for the first time this summer.

punkin413 - I can't imagine what the package would be either. I do not know, but if any of us ever has lunch with an imagineer, that's a question we can ask.

Mickey needs a new contractor. It doesn't look as if much work has been done since last summer.
