Next up will be July 29th -
a special meeting with Minnie Mouse,
a meal at Animal Kingdom Lodge (and a Hidden Mickey hunt),
...and a Kali River adventure where one member of our party was held against her will by a bunch of young people. You may begin the difficult task of figuring out who that was.
I'll start by saying bedtime the night before was actually 2:30 a.m., after Trent and Kristi got in from PI and Drew and Sam left the pool and the friends. You would think I could have slept in a bit, but I was up at 5:40. I showered, straightened the room up a bit in the dark, and headed out for a walk. The only other life I saw was the Pop Century workers, very busy about the grounds preparing for a new day for their thousands of guests. The sleeping guests. Except me. I was the walking-around-looking-at-gigantic-icons-way-too-early-in-the-morning guest.
The plan for the day was that Trent, Kristi, Drew, and Sam were going to go to Typhoon Lagoon together. We were going to get together at Animal Kingdom Lodge later in the day and then go to Animal Kingdom together for It's Tough to be a Bug and Kali River. The kids had insisted that I ride Kali WITHOUT a poncho and get nice and soaking wet as a final hurrah to my forties before I turned 50 the next day.
Surprisingly, even though I truly didn't think they'd do it, all four of the waterpark gang did get up and go. They were very glad, and had quite a good time. They were there early and did everything they wanted to do in half the day. Trent and Kristi liked Typhoon Lagoon better than Blizzard Beach, and planned to do it a second time before the trip was over.
I told Jill we should try to open ToonTown and get a bunch of character shots in all at once before the crowd got too big, so after a short morning dip in the pool, we headed out. We made the right choice and arrived at just the right time, because we were among the first ones there. Therefore, we were treated to a special walk-along with Miss Minnie herself!
With that, I'll wrap up the intro and let Jill put up the pictures and narrate the morning.
