I'm saving GF for when Jill and I come back. I want her to see that with me. Since the other 4 resorts haven't put their trees up yet, I don't know about GF.

We just went down and got a Ham and Havarti. Titans are playing football, so that's on. We've loaded the car with all but what we'll throw on in the morning.

It's getting a little cool, but there are about ten people in the computer pool and a bunch in the main pool.

I look forward to sharing pictures with you soon. Nicole and Gmax, it won't be long before you guys are back here. Sorry I didn't get a lot of resort pictures, but I got a few.

Last I talked to the crew they were on their return journey. They had hit some major traffic around Atlanta and figured they would hit Nashville around 10:30 last night. Have a great turkey day everyone.

Thanks for the update. I hate hitting traffic.

Good evening everyone! We had our fill of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, fried apples, rolls, mint chocolate pie, and apple cinnamon pie. What about all of you?

Then we crashed and watched Santa Clause 3, napped, read the paper, and played video games.

Tonight we went out to Opryland to see the lights display. It is a beautiful hotel, and it sure reminded me of Disney World tonight - lots of lights and lots of people! I took a few pictures, and if it is okay, I'll show you those eventually. Some of you might like to visit there sometime and come to see all the country music stuff. Hannah Montana is playing here tomorrow night, so it'll be even more crazy in downtown Nashville.

I know one of the things I really like about being in Disney World. Someone else prepares the meals and cleans up the mess. I've been in and out of the kitchen all day long, so I'm tired of being up to my elbows in soap suds and watching the sink being refilled as soon as I empty it.

The gang is in the kitchen eating leftovers right now. It's been a nice day. I hope you all had a wonderful day, as well. Now the peaceful feeling gives way to the chaos of Christmas shopping. Drew works in a toy store, and he's working 2-12 tomorrow. I'm sure he will earn his pay and will be exhausted by midnight.

Good luck to all who choose to brave the crowds tomorrow. I won't be in them. I'll be safely tucked away at home, savoring the rest of the peace and quiet before I go back to school on Monday. As soon as we get pictures loaded, I'll do a mini-report of the last few days.

Hello MeMom. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy thanksgiving with your wonderful family to check in with us!:goodvibes Sounds like the menu was fabulous! Fried Apples? Sound yummy what are they? and can i have the recipe? :cutie: We drove up to my brothers in Mass. (about 2 hrs) and had a great day with my mom and another brother. all the cousins had a blast with races and games.
I would love to pictures of the Orpryland dressed up! I love country music! Have you seen or met anybody? No shopping for me tomorrow. Nothing is on sale that I really need right now. Happy Thanksgiving! Carrie

We are going to have to go do this again soon....it's been a long time since I've actually walked around the hotel and seen the Christmas deco's....but you are right it's beautiful, and I can't WAIT to go see the decorations that Disney actually puts up....I'll prob think Opryland is slim at that point, but I still love having it in my hometown :goodvibes

Good luck to all who choose to brave the crowds tomorrow.

I will not be one of those either....may do some online shopping like I did last year....that was fun :santa:

16 DAYS for us!!!!

Well I have to be out in it on Friday morning. Here's what happened: As I was drifting off to sleep on Tuesday with the TV on, I heard a strange sound, looked up and the TV was off. I tried turning it back on but - NOTHING. Then I began to smell an electrical burning smell. :sad2: So I unplugged the TV and went back to sleep. Wednesday it still wouldn't come on - so it did actually happen - it wasnt a dream! So today after trying to go to sleep in total silence :rolleyes1 I realized that I couldnt wait till AFTER the crazies shopped this weeked. I NEED A TV NOW!!!! In case you don't know (brace yourself), long gone are the days when you could just buy a TV that didnt equal a week or two of your pay check. I'm looking to spend at least 500. The guys at work were saying that for a good one, I may have to spend around $1,000  Can you believe that? I feel like my older relatives who remember when I loaf of bread was less than a quarter!

So I'm going to Sears, and charge it so I wont have interest, and just chip away at the cost for how ever long the interest-free time period is. I know, I should thank God that at least I have a Sears credit card. I'm REALLY trying to be more postive about this. (Jesus help me)

Fried apples are the greatest thing ever. They are slices of apples that are covered in a glaze of butter and sugar and sometimes cinnamon. throw that all in a pan on the stove and heat them up. Yummy!!!!! You must try them next time you are in the south. Stop by a Cracker Barrel and get some!

It'll be here in a flash for you and for Glenda. Jill, Brooklynn, and I will be back on Christmas Day. They'll do Christmas morning with Brooklynn at home, and then come here later, since we're leaving from the Nashville airport. This flying thing will be good for getting there quickly, but it will be a real test of my claustrophobia. I'm psyching myself up for it now in little ways, like getting on an elevator when I could go up or down stairs...sometimes. I much prefer stairs, even when going up multiple flights of them.

VandyFan10 - Opryland was very pretty, but the decorations weren't as kid oriented as they have been at some years in the past. It's been a long time since we've been, and we al recalled the cute peppermint decorations and gingerbread houses, etc. The decorations this time were just trees, wreaths, etc., the outdoor nativity scenes in all white and blue, and a few things hanging from the ceiling that were cute for kids. The parking used to be a flat fee - going up from $5 to $7 to about $10, as I recall but now it's charged by time. It cost us $17.50 to park this time.

Glenda - How about your TV hunt yesterday? Are you all settled in on the couch right now watching Christmas shows on your super duper new TV?

- Definitely try fried apples. They're a down-home country good food.

Drew had to work until midnight last night. He's still sound asleep. Hopefully he'll get time to get my pictures going today so that I can share with you. Have a good Saturday everybody!

We arrived at Pop Century about ten o'clock last Saturday. We were happy to be greeted by Christmas decor.

I already smile when I walk into Pop, but these made the smile just a tiny bit bigger.

I know it is still really 2 months but reading that 1 month part just gets all the excitement bubbling up:banana: )

Pop does have some nice decorations.
