Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

John, Brooklynn and I hope to be able to be your "neighbor" starting next year

YEAH!!!!!! :cheer2:

Now I've gotta catch up on your report!

All the things I bought for everyone during this trip:

Hey Mom, Before you leave, you need to call the post office, because I did not receive any of these gift that I know you sent me. :rolleyes1

I sent up many prayers to God from the time I was a teenager, knowing I wanted to someday be a mother, and He answered those prayers in the awesomest way by giving me these three lives to share my time here on earth with.
Send up a prayer for me too! :goodvibes

I just spent half of my night reading your TR! I've been lurking on the dis for a few months but just wasn't motivated to join until now. I enjoyed every minute reading of your experiences, and related quite a bit. My family went in October and it was the first trip for all 3 or my girls. (5,3,8mo) It was the most amazing experience of my life, and just as you have mentioned, the small, unplanned events stick out more than any other.

You are so lucky to have such an amazing family!

ps. We're neighbors! We live in Jones Valley, and much of our family lives in Nashville. I even looked into Primrose for my oldest when we first moved here. Ended up sending her to our churches mothers day out since it was close to my house, but was VERY IMPRESSED. Primrose is one of the best!

We really are very close! What a small world. Thanks for the job compliment as well, I am very proud of my school!

Now I have to add a little addendum to Memom's last post. When we first started the trip Memom had packed a small cooler. It was big enough for a six pack of soda. She said she was going to bring her co worker backa piece of tiedyed cheesecake. What really happened is that Memom bought 4 slices of carrot cake and four slices of tiedyed cheesecake and then we had to figure out how to get it home (and when I say we I do mean I!) I took some of our bags from the souvenirs we had bought and went to the ice machine at Pop and started filling bags to fashion the HILLBILLY cooler (coming soon to an infomercial at 2:00 am. Glendamax keep your eyes out since you and my mother are the only two people up at that time!) It did its job. I will freely admit that I harassed my mother openly about the cooler most of the way home and occassionally since then. I have had to explain to her the Christmas trip will be different since we are flying there won't be any shoving under seats or things stuffed in the back window. So we'll see how it goes!

Hey Gang,

just got caught up on your last report and see that you are on your way agaiin, well at least MeMom. Must be nice to be so rich that you can afford to go once a month. :rotfl2:

Great pictures and can't wait to hear about the latest adventures.

Glenda - You mean GMax, Maryland, USA was not enough for them to find you? Man, and I got you such a HUGE box of AWESOME things, too!

I'll send you a postcard or whatever else you want from Disney World TOMORROW, if you PM me with your address. You'll be there soon! I am so excited to be going to see all the Christmas decorations, but I really, really, really wish Jill could go with us.

You will be blessed with kids someday. I always knew that even if I didn't give birth to any, I would adopt. I knew that when I was about fourteen. Even after I had Jill and Trent, I still wanted to adopt, and God made Drew-boy just for me, and hopefully he feels like He made me just for him. (Hope that made sense.)

I wanted to adopt more kids. I really wanted five kids, at least. Things didn't play out as planned, and I found myself going back to school full time and raising three little bitty kids alone. Even at that, I still wanted more, but I figured nobody would have let me have another child with the finances we had. Now that I am kind of set in the financial area, which to me means paying my bills on time and having a little paycheck left over at the end of the bills, I am too old to adopt. If someone were to call me today, though, and under some circumstances wanted me to take in a child, I would do it in half a heartbeat! I've thought of foster parenting, but it would have to be for school age kids, for sure, since I must work full time. I've done a program called Special Friends, through church, where I have taken kids for one weekend a month to relieve foster parents in group homes so that they can have a free weekend. One of the little boys I had finally got adopted, along with his four siblings. I really should think of doing that again. I guess being in a room with twenty kids all day Monday through Friday is enough for me right now, though.

I am so sad to see this TR end. :(

Well, if you hang around, we'll probably just continue this trip into our November, December, March, and next summer trips. That is, if the moderators approve. I don't know the rules for such, so they can let me know if it's okay to just keep going on one thread from trip to trip.

carrieannie, scott, kim, snowbell, vandyfan, disfanfam and anyone else I haven't answered to lately, forgive me. School has been crazy. You cannot imagine the amount of testing we do to our kids. Hours and hours of one on one testing so we can pinpoint to the tiniest degree what their reading level is, put a number on it, and most certainly fill out three pages of paperwork about it. It's not enough to know by our own teacher judgement that they are a high level reader, or an average reader, or a struggling reader. Instead of teaching, we are required to spend endless hours having a child read as we mark every word they read a certain way. Then we take the number of words, errors, self-corrections, etc. and do a bunch of division problems to get some exact score that tells us what we already knew!!! Schools these days like numbers on grids. Lots and lots of numbers on lots and lots of grids. So instead of me being able to do fun Thanksgiving things like we used to - make corncakes and our own butter, create tepees and longhouses, make bark stories out of grocery bags, etc.- I'm over in the corner analyzing a student's reading to death while the others are doing a worksheet, because everyone has to stay still and quiet while we're testing. Oh, the fun that is teaching! Or lack of fun. Okay, more than you wanted to know about why school has been so crazy, right?!?!?

A special welcome to kathys3girls. I am honored that ours was one of the first posts you've made. Welcome to the Disboards. You will find many good people here. I feel like I could just sit down at the table and start talking with some of these people like they were old friends, and I'm very introverted, so that's saying a lot. There are just good down-to-earth folks around here, I think.

Everybody have a great weekend. I'll check in next Wednesday, if not before. Trent will have the computer to do some school work, so maybe he'll lat me borrow it a minute to touch base and say hello to everyone from beautiful Christmasy Disney World. I've got to get going. Have a good Friday!

Great pictures and can't wait to hear about the latest adventures.

Hey - We were typing over the top of each other. Good to hear from you guys up in the cold north. It's cold here this morning. We had ice on the car windows. I'll think of you in Canada, Epcot when I'm there on Tuesday.

Rich? You must be kidding! My AP is getting a workout, and the room rates are low with it. I've got my loaf of bread and pack of lunchmeat for supper on the road tonight! My house needs much work, so I really should be spending the money on that, but I'm just going to keep on having this one year of fabulous dreams, and then I'll get back to reality.

MeMom:
I am going to have to stop reading this trip report! WHY?? Because I am getting really jealous here. :lmao: :lmao: Its great that you get to go soo much and that you are close enough to go. THe one week I got my husband there is going to have to last me awhile...so keep it alive for me!! I love seeing Brooklyn at Disney World...she really looks like she gets it and feels right at home there. She is too adorable.

Not too cold today. When I got up at 6 am it was 17 degrees Celsius (about 65 Fahrenheit). This has been a crazy week up here. Tuesday, cleaned snow off the car; Wednesday, scraped the frost off the windows; Thursday. a pleasant fall day; and today, warm and rainy.

Absolutely wonderful Halloween pics!!

It is really great to see MK dressed up for all the events. I love all the pics too because you definately catch a lot of things I've missed. Plus I can't believe all the resorts you guys have visited, you guys are resort hopping pros! :thumbsup2

Anyway, Hope you have a great Thanksgiving trip!! :wizard:

Good morning from Pop Century!

We went to Magic Kingdom yesterday. Today, we're headed to Animal Kingdom. I've already taken lots of pictures to share with you guys.

Magic Kingdom was pretty in its Christmas decor. The castle is beautiful with its icicle lights.

I'll post pictures whenever Drew gets them put on here for me.

Have a good Sunday, everyone!

Hi! Thanks for posting while on vacation! I cant wait to see your pictures! How are the crowds? Are you missing Brooklynn? :cutie:

Just got back from the lights. It is SOOO crowded. I mean bumper to bumper people. Drew and I had the best Tower of Terror ride I have ever had. We were in midair for the longest time on one of the drops. It was so fun!

We have had a very good time. It's been a different trip, because the boys do such different things than Jill and I do. I've talked to her several times to give her reports. I'll be happy to see Brooklynn on Wednesday night.

Nicole, I did go to some resorts, but Pop is the only one with a big tree up, as of yet. I got some pictures for you, and Scott, I went to POR, so hopefully you'll enjoy those.

I'll check in again later!

thank you I am quite sure I will. I look forward to seeing the pics. Now go out and live it up, your at Disney.

I'm a 50 year old Church of Christ grandmother, mother, and teacher. Living it up for me is pretty mild stuff. I already had a mint chocolate chip ice cream and rode Tower of Terror within an hour of each other. What more do you want?!?!:) That's living it up for me!

We're in the process of packing the car, because when we leave in the morning to go to Epcot, we won't be back until after our room is checked out.
