Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

So glad I came across this TR! What a great family and all (yes, even MeMom) so photogenic! Brooklynn is precious - she is such a happy baby. :)

Happy Belated Birthday to Brooklynn and MeMom!:cake:

You poor sweet girl! I'm so sorry to hear about your illness. Saying MeMom and photogenic in the same sentence. You must be delirious with such a high fever!!!

It has been my goal in life to avoid pictures so much that no one can remember what I looked like when I'm gone!

On a serious note, I would like for you to all keep Drew's good buddy, Richard, in your prayers right now. He was one of the ones who wanted to go on our summer trip, but couldn't because of football obligations. Drew and all his buddies ride BMX bikes, and they do all that jumping up in the air and flipping and twisting and such. They are always wrecking and coming home with busted and scarred body parts. Richard had a wreck yesterday, and he had to be taken to the hospital last night with a ruptured spleen. He had emergency surgery. He is one of the star players on the high school football team, and he does have the potential to play at the next level at a small college. He has had several schools contact him. Now, his senior season is shot. He scored what was likely his last touchdown Friday night. He will need prayers for physical health, of course, but for emotional strength, as well, because this will really push his spirits down. (If you remember from earlier in this report, we went through this with Trent in his senior year, so I truly know what they're going through.) I'm on my way to the store to pack up some breakfast, fruit, and munchies for his family and friends that are hanging out at the hospital. Keep them all in your thoughts.

I will certainly keep him in my thoughts. That is so nice of you to go get breakfast for all of them and bring it over to the hospital.

Ahhh,yes.... were we related in a previous life???

My gosh, how awful about Richard! He is definitely in our thoughts and prayer. Please keep us updated.

Richard is out of ICU and in a private room. He says he feels much better than he did yesterday at this time. He has a lot of company - family, friends, team members, coaches, teachers. He'll be in the hospital a few days, but he's young and strong, so he'll get back to normal as well as anyone could. Keep him in your thoughts as time goes on. He's sort of still in shock right now, and has been fairly doped up. He still has some things to face when it really sets in that he can't play ball for a while. For now, though, he's doing fine.

The three sacks full of breakfast I took lasted about 30 seconds before it was all devoured by hungry, sleep deprived teenagers!

I have spent some of this weekend packing to leave from school on Wednesday. I just PM'ed with another Tennessee Diser not long ago about sending her kids a postcard to welcome them for their upcoming visit. I believe it is in November. I'm looking forward to being able to do that for them to help them get even more excited than they already are.

I've also been grading 40 Science folders, which takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r!!! I'm not quite halfway there yet, so I have long evening ahead. No matter how many times you tell them to put the ten items in order according to the list I gave them, they're still just eight and nine years old, so it doesn't quiet sink in with many of them. This is their first folder of the year. The last ones they turn in will look better as they get used to doing it.

I don't have time to put up another installment tonight, and I think it's Jill's turn anyway. Instead, I'm going to leave you with some pictures from last October. The best we could do then was have our own version of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We did that, and then went to Disney on Ice:100 Years of Magic, which was awesome! If you ever get a chance to go, don't hesitate. Do it! We had a great time! I will gladly go to any other Disney ice shows that come our way. Brooklynn was just two months old and slept through the whole thing, but all the rest of us had a great time. Even Drew went and enjoyed it, believe it or not.

But this year, we've hit it big to be able to go to the real thing! Three more "night-nights" at home, and then we're on our way! Anyway, here it is. Forgive the blurriness. It was hard to get good pictures with them spinning all over the ice. Enjoy, and have a good rest of the evening.

Wow, you got some really good shots of the ice show! Next time it comes through Baltimore, I'll have to think about going!

Hi MeMom...thanks for the pm about Drew's friend Richard. Glad he is on the mend and of course I will keep him in my prayers. :goodvibes Sounds like a tough go but as you said he should heal fast! PTL!! As far as playing, that really stinks he is going to miss out.....:sad1: but hopefully colleges will understand about the injury....they will still be interested since he is a good player. :yay: God has got this all under control! Don't worry! :thumbsup2

Hi MeMom,
So sorry to hear about Richard. Thank goodness he is doing okay and on the road to recovery. We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.:goodvibes

Thanks so much for sharing your life and family with us. As always, I love your pictures.

Have a good week.

Hey Mom! I enjoyed your pics of High School Musical! They didnt have it the day I was there. This weekend on Saturday Night Live, they did a spoof on HSM part 3. It was so cruel, but SO FUNNY!!!! I was screaming!

Wow, you got some really good shots of the ice show! Next time it comes through Baltimore, I'll have to think about going!

Hey Denise! When I looked at the pics of the show, it looked like it was in the Civic Center Downtown! The seats look the same!

Oh, definitely go if you can! You'll love it. I wish there was another one coming this way soon, but I've been searching, and no such luck. The only ones were in Birmingham on a school night and in Chattanooga when we're actually going to be in Disney World, so neither of those work.

Since I don't know how to multi-quote, I do it this way:

twob4him - Thanks for the good thoughts for Richard.

cherokeemamma - The same thanks. I'm glad you enjoy our pictures, because we always enjoy yours. Too bad you and Glenda didn't get to hook up on the trip. That would have been fun!

Gmax - It took us three tries, but we finally got to see it. I didn't see it on Saturday Night Live. I used to watch that, but the last few times I saw it, it was just getting to be so incredibly trashy, I gave up on it. I've seen a bit and a piece here and there in the past few years. I'll try to watch for the HSM spoof. Now, don't you need to go finish a TR? In my mind, you are still sitting in the dark of Haunted Mansion right now, waiting to get unstuck!

SwansLoveDisney - We do love Beauty and the Beast. I hope we will be able to see it Saturday. That's our MGM day.

declansdad - If you really want it, I will try to get the macaroni nose picture up soon. I imagine we'll have several more to add to the "all over the face and up the nose" collection after this weekend. If I have half a second, I'm going to get over to Pop for some more pictures for the PC picture thread, too. That's IF I have half a second.

scottny - Your trip is off? Tell us more.

BaciBecky - Me, too, on the picture thing. Hate 'em, hate 'em, hate 'em of me. Love 'em of others!

ANTSS - Are you going to be there the 4th - 7th? There are so many Disers going that I can't remember. P.S. Sorry I didn't enlarge your name. I didn't realize it until I posted and saw it little. It won't let me change the size on the editing thing. Sorry. I'll do better next time.

This time tomorrow, we'll be on the road!!!

Three girls.
Three generations.
Three days.

First MNSSHP.
Second time I've skipped school to go to Disney World. (I skipped when I lived in St. Pete, but I was a teenager then, and I had parental permission. The thing I remember that I missed that day was dissecting a frog. I was there when we dissected a crayfish, but missed frog day.)

A thousand things we want to do.
A thousand things we want to buy.
A thousand pictures I want to get.

We'll be happy with what we do get to do. We are very blessed to be able to do this completely unexpected trip. I am looking so forward to having time with Jill and Brooklynn all by myself. Selfish mom in me, I guess.

Wish us safe travel and good weather.
We hope to see some other Disers. We will come back with pictures to share with anyone who is still tagging along on this ride.

Have a safe and wonderful trip. Tell Mickey I will see him january.

Last minute glitch. We do have a faculty meeting, so we'll be leaving as soon as that is over instead of right after school. Instead of me going to meet Jill, she is able to get off early, so she's coming to meet me. That way we can get on the road as soon as the principal says, "That's it. Have a wonderful evening."

Only I'll be having a magical evening. Or at least I'll be headed to the place where you have magical evenings.

We ordered some Alice in Wonderland shirts from Disney Shopping and were stressing because they weren't here. They came just a little while ago, and they are pretty cute. Trent made fun of us. Drew will, too, as soon as he sees them.

We have become accustomed to taking a little buddy with us on our trips, just for fun, and to help pick out new buddies to bring home. Lifeguard Mickey couldn't say no to anyone, so we brought all of these guys home from our summer trip. They now sit in my classroom window, learning new things every day.

I think Stitch looks like he's screaming to go back this time to help pick out some new friends. If I don't change my mind, he will be going.

I will add that I love my throw, and it is extra special because Jill got it for me as a surprise birthday present.

I'll post the few we took of Lifeguard Mickey when we finish the report, which will be soon. We're almost to the last night, which was a rain out at Magic Kingdom.

Now, back to packing.

OMGoodness.....you aren't going to be able to remember one thing from the faculty meeting! :rotfl: You'll be dreaming of Disney! Have a great weekend! Can't wait to see the pics and hear all about it!

Hi MeMom,

I hope I am not to late to wish you a grand time. :woohoo: I really can't wait to hear all about it. I am interested in a weather and crowd report since my trip is only 2 weeks after yours. I hope you enjoy the MNSSHP...I know you will.

P.S. Here is some extra pixie dust for you... pixiedust:

Have fun. Dh and I just got back from WDW on Sat and I already want to go back. We had very minimal wait times and pretty much walked onto everything. Though it was hot! Just drink a lot of water and you will be fine. Tell Mickey I say "Hi"...again!!
