Babnanas 11: "Boo-boo's are OUT, Toast is IN….

SO I have a question for those who do trip reports...

I tried writing one once. In fact, the entire thing is actually finished in a Word document. But I only ever posted half of it. No one was really reading the parts I was putting on here (half my trip took place in other parts of Florida, so I posted the first half on my blog).

However, THIS year, I'm only going to Florida for five days. Two days will be spent at Disney Parks, one day at Downtown Dis, and two days at Universal Studios.

If I wanted to write a trip report and put it on the Trip Report board... could I do it WITH the Universal Studios days?

Totally! I've done that twice.

Or do you think it's just too short, anyway? My report will be filled with pictures too, as I'll be carrying around my camera.

Nothing is ever too short on the Dis. :lmao:

And does anyone have trip report writing tips? :)

Just write it the way you want to. :thumbsup2

And post a link to it here. I'll follow.

So I've been caring for this little neighborhood kitty the last couple of days and nights. I've seen this cat around the neighborhood since we moved in, over 2 years ago. The sad fact is, it was probably left behind when someone moved at some point, and has been wandering around trying to fend for itself. :sad1: Anyway, we've had frigid weather the last couple of days, and last night they had wind-chill warnings for -25*. The night before was about 0*, so I had set up a shelter out front here and put it where it was as out of the wind as I could place it. I put an old towel in there, covered in a piece of fleece fabric, and also a bowl of dry food. Wrapped it all up in an old rain poncho, and left just a tiny opening. Sure enough, he/she found it two days ago!! We see paw prints out here just about every morning, now I know it's this certain kitty. It's been hunkered down in there ever since. Yesterday afternoon I brought out a can of some tuna and set it down just outside the box, then stepped back. It came right out to investigate and sure enough, a little later the can was cleaned out! I did the same thing today when I got home from work, and as I pulled back the edge of the towel to remove the old can, it stuck its head out and meowed a bunch of times. So sweet. It then went right to work on that can of tuna! I put extra water in the can too, since there isn't much natural available in these temps.

::sigh:: .....anyway I'm glad it at least has a place to stay out of the wind and hopefully be a tad warmer than if it were just sitting on some porch somewhere. Poor lil thing.... :sad2:

Aww. You're doing such a good deed. Do you think she/he will stay?

She's already staying!! She did come out today (based on all the footy-prints in the snow around the yard), but is spending the nights in the shelter box.

I went food shopping after work today, so got home a bit later than usual. When I pulled in, I noticed kitty on the deck! I got out of the car slowly and called to her and kneeled down. She meowed, came down the steps, and went under the old car (where her shelter box is). I went over and reached in and discovered that the food bowl was completely empty, so I took it out and quick ran in the house...I filled it back up with dry food and put a can of wet food on top of that. Brought it back out and she was waiting! I could hear her munching happily away as I tucked all the towels back in around the edges. She's probably in for the night now. If I could get her to trust enough, I'd love to bring her into the basement; it stays above freezing down there, AND there's literally a stream that runs along the edge so she'd have water. I did bring out an old tuna can filled with warm water, so it would last a tad longer before freezing.

Will you keep her if she stays?

:thumbsup2

Will you keep her if she stays?

That depends on who you ask...... :rolleyes1

:lmao:

DH would say we should get her all ready to be adopted out to someone....I say after all the effort I put into gaining her trust, she stays here!!! Poor thing has evidently already been abandoned once.... :sad1:

I might also add, I am your proverbial "crazy cat lady." If I'm ever alone as an old person, I'll have a house full of felines. Heck I might still have that even with DH still around! I have a HUGE soft spot in my heart for all cats. We joke that there's an invisible flashing neon sign that follows me around, advertising "Hey!...this lady will love you and feed you!"

I completely agree. :thumbsup2

I say I'm more a dog person. But we love cats as well. I'd love a dog but I just don't have time to properly care for a dog.

Funny how life messes with you, too. If we end up adding this kitty to our "collection", I'll be doing something I said I'd never do again: last summer we lost my best friend Pippin to a liver disease....he was MY cat (I have truly never had a cat love on me the way this guy did....it was unique and wonderful). However he was a long-haired cat and his fur is still all over my house, 6 months later!! He was high maintenance in that department and I decided no more long-hairs. So guess what this cat is. Yep.

I'm definitely more a cat person, but I've considered a dog again (we've had them in the past). I'm in the same boat, though....don't really have the time or schedule to maintain one. I always think how great it would be in summer when I'm out running and hiking a lot, but winter is a whole other story. I'm literally working 7 days/week right now!!
