It's fantastic! I have a room at Beach Club Villas with an automatic room door. When I'm inside the room, there's button about 6 inches square I can push, then the room door opens automatically, stays open for about 20 seconds, then closes behind me. When I come back, unlock and open the door about 6 inches, then the automatic door feature takes over, opens all the way, waits about 20 seconds, then again closes behind me. What's funny is that I had this same room last year, the button didn't work then either, nor did it work when I checked in yesterday, but maintenance was here for another issue so I mentioned it to them, they called for whoever (the department of self-opening doors?), then I went out for a couple hours. Came back and the door opened. This feature is so very useful, especially if you're traveling alone. Any other HA rooms have this feature? This is the only time I've ever seen it.

We had one at a handicap accessible family suite at music. I can’t remember if going back into the room had a button or the assisted opening like your room has. It was very handy with 2 wheelchairs

I’m glad you have it working! It was working once when we had that room!

I have had that with roll-in shower rooms at the Grand Floridian, the Contemporary, The Yacht Club, The Beach Club, and Coronado Springs' Gran Destino Tower club level. It is such a helpful item and is a shame that all roll-in shower rooms don't have it.
