Where do you pick up autograph books in Canada before your trip (or do you wait until you get to Disney)?

Also, I have a very outgoing 5-year-old, and a shy 3-year-old. Would autograph books be good for this trip, or should I wait until they are older? (The 3-year-old will not do pics with characters, so I thought this would be a way for her to interact.)

We went this past winter and I had no luck finding anything in my area before we left. I visited a Disney Store in Toronto twice too...no luck there either.

My kids are 5 and 3 and were shy at first but soon warmed up to the characters to the point that they were more into this than we were and were much more willing to stand in line too! Our first experience was at CRT on the first day and while my dd3 found this overwhelming and was very shy, it was good in that she could watch the princesses from across the room and get used to seeing them before they got to our table. I had to hold her up at the character's level for the first day or so, but after that both kids were very comfortable. If you can find a face character to meet first, it may be easier for your dd to talk to someone, or at least listen to them. Even my son found the plush guys a bit scary at first. Think of something you can ask the face characters too that the kids want to know. My daughter really wanted to see Cinderella's slippers, so she finally worked up enough courage to talk to her and ask.

Good luck & have fun!

I'm not sure if you're crafty or not but maybe you could consider making one.

I've seen a few references to people making their own having the character sign on one side then adding a picture on the other side to go along with it. The kids could help decorate it with stickers and ribbons.

If you're interested in doing this you could post in the Cooking, Crafting & Scrapping section of the Dis. I'm sure the would have lots of ideas...maybe even some pictures of one.

Good Luck and Have Fun.

Hi,

We just came back (yesterday :)) and actually bought the 50th Anniversary autograph and photo book for $12 USD inside Disneyland. It's a nice one with the golden hardcovers and mickey/minnie in their fineries.

They do sell a smaller one without photograph slots with nice burgady covers for about $8-9. If you don't want the 50th Anniversary one then there is also the purple/lilac with the Princesses on the cover for about $10-11

Bought some Mickey Mouse's head-shaped books for a buck, they had Pooh too. It has lines in it but my kids are youngs so I'm not even sure they will want to do the autograph thing... :flower:

Bought some for $1.00 at A Buck or Two. They were there last week. Nice, hardcover autograph books.
