Autism Temporary Tattoos?

Hi all. This may be a rather random question. But I am looking for a really good temporary tattoo for our youngest son as he has autism and with that a tendency for bolting and running away from our family while in public. Normally around the mall or our neighborhood soccer practice people will stop him until I can catch up or I can convince him to come back (he's REALLY fast for 5). But I am concerned with going to MNSSHP, flying, and if we get in a large crowd and he bolts I won't be able to push through to get to him.

So... long story I know... is there a recommended temporary tattoo for kids that they can't pick at or rub off that you can alert someone who finds them that they are ASD and provide a phone number (printed on the tattoo) that we can apply in the morning before going to the parks?

Thank you in advance!:goodvibes

Edit: Found a cheaper locator device. It sets of an alarm on the unit you carry when he goes outside a set range plus can track him.

Hope that helps. :) I disappeared from my parents at 7 at our state fair (it is a massive place). Thankfully I was able to ask for help and nothing bad happened. It is even scary with a child that has communication difficulties.

Something like this might also help

My dad has Aspergers. He does very well overall (runs his own company, great dad, married 43 years) but has a tendency to wander off. He has disappeared at Costco. We are doing family locator with his and my mom's cell phones when we go to Disney for when (with him it is when, not if) he wanders away. He can't hear on a cell phone, so locator software is the best option.

Thank you Eeyore! We may have to do a mixture of them both (Locator and Tattoo). I just would rather be prepared than sorry if he gets over stimulated and decides to run.

Thank you again. And best of luck with your Dad on your upcoming trip!

I used a small index card and put my child's name, my name, my cell phone, my resort and vacation dates. Then I put that index card inside a plastic casing and pinned it to my daughter's shirt. That's one idea. And that worked well. Put it on the back of his shirt. This way he won't pick at it.
And I got a stroller which helps a lot. There's no seat belts but you could consider a harness and leash. yes, I know that sounds a little bizarre but think about it. I'd rather have my child safe and if my child has a tendency to bolt, well, at least I'll be dragged along with him..:rotfl2:
I used that my child when she was 3 years ago.

You could just write down his name and your cell number on his arm with a marker. That will wash off eventually.

good luck

my daughter has adhd and is also a runner. For her I used one of those bear backpack/harnesses with a "leash" until she outgrew it because the ones that go on her hand she'll just take off and a backpack one without the harness clips in the front will just slip off when she goes to run.

If you sons shoes have laces you could go to petsmart and get one of the little charms engraved (they have other shapes besides bones lol) with you cell number and any other info that will fit. I also think they make id things that can go on their shoes but I'm not sure.

American Medical Id or other medical id sites have bracelets and necklaces for kids and you could get your info engraved on there.

I've never tried them, but most likely will on our next trip, but the tattoos are available at safetytat.com. If there is a place you can do it while he sleeps and wont know about it (I know it sounds silly but the back of his neck where you could see it just above the collar of his shirt) so he cant pick at it.

I second Safety tat. We also use a dog tag and a caribener clip. Had a disney one but lost it. :(
