she did say if i found a resale listing and had any questions to call her and she'd help me understand exactly what i'd be buying....and then said that regardless of direct or resale, she'd be happy that we would be DVC members. that's how the phone call ended....

She's lying. Resale means no commission.

You don't "pay twice" to stay offsite at DL and own DVC. It is no different than going skiing in Utah one year and owning DVC. You use the DVc points for a DVC stay, and pay cash to ski.

That the hotel is at DL and not a ski lodge makes no difference. You're taking two vacations.
