August - September 2013 Room-only Discounts

Yes on Thursday the 9th.

I've updated the first post of this thread with more detail by the way....just so everyone is on the same page.

beautiful...thanks...

we've had our reservation for after our Disney Cruise last October and i added another night to our reservation last week...

Not on the list? Hmm, I'm gonna say 5% like the others, unless they consider that a standard view, then it would be 20%.

If someone finds out how that's classified please let me know.

I got the discount. I would say 25%.

I am arriving 8/31 so I am missing FD by two days. Should I split my reservation and get the RO discount for the first two nights and then try to get FD for the remainder of my trip? I'm a newbie to all of this and want to get the best deal possible.

You could do that, but are you sure free dining is a better deal than the room-only discount? (Depends on type of hotel/room rate/number of adults/kids.) You should price it both ways first. Might turn out you can just book the whole thing with the room-only deal and you're done.

The crystal ball has been working well lately. I'm glad I started these two threads, much less drama and much more information.

I had taken a long break from the boards and didn't frequent them much. I'm so glad I came back, it's much nicer to share all the information with Disney friends, and have somewhere to talk about my favorite place.

Hooray for Joe! Who wants to join me in a heart-felt round of 'For He's a Jolly Good Fellow'? :D

Anyone have any luck getting any discounts on a BLT 2 bedroom villa?

My CM told me there are none (no FD and no RO), but I wanted to double check since I see 5% off at BLT listed here.

And how does a AAA discount work? Is it the same thing with the most popular rooms excluded, or does it work for all rooms?

Thanks!

:confused3

Called...and am confused if this info is correct.

CM said that I could modify our current reservation under the DV offer but I would have to have two separate reservations and although it wasn't likely we could possibly be asked to leave our room, check out and check in again. We arrive on the 14th and leave for SSR on the 16th. Said that I would therefore need 2 deposits-one for each room reservation. (8/14 & 8/15)

I did not do anything at the moment, since we are interested in upgrading to CL and NOT interested in anything disrupting our room, even if it is highly unlikely.

Will booking under the general public offer be the same kind of hassle?

Non- discounted rooms can be added at the end of a reservation but if said room is at the start it has to be a separate reservation and any time you have more than one resort they will be separate reservations each requiring a separate deposit. They try to keep you in the same room whenever possible but you do need to check-in for each reservation

Thanks for your advice. I'll do some price checking to see what works out better. It's myself, husband and two children under the age of 3 and we're staying at the Caribbean. My inlaws are coming with us but have their own reservation.

Do room only discounts typically sell out? I can still book one under the current summer promotion for the value resorts. Should I be worried that POP will sell out?

Hi, I have a question, need advice and all that jazz..I am going 8/25-8/30 and HAD LM but changed to POP for the room discount. I read that mostly everyone is changing from LM to get the discount. My question is if a lot of people change LM and there are no rooms booked, do u think they would put a discount on them? My problem is that with my switch I had to get a perferred room because I would like the 50's (my son loves bowling) its only saving me like $70..is it worth it for POP or should I switch back to AOA..sry so long but HELP!! LOL

Sorry I don't have any info on BLT, but for my ressie, Poly GV CL was "sold out" for the 20% room only discount, but I was able to use my 15% AAA discount. I just asked the CM to try AAA after she told me I couldn't use the RO discount, and it worked :goodvibes. On the other hand, I have been told in the past that there is no AAA discount on LM rooms at AoA since they're so popular. Best thing I can tell you is call and ask - good luck :thumbsup2

I called about BLT also today, and was told that it was for Studio's only at 5%. I passed...BLT should be 40%!!!:rotfl2:
