August - September 2013 Room-only Discounts

It's not listed as having any kind of discount on the Disney web site. I guess it's still worth it to call and see though?

If you are going in the dates listed for the sale, yeah. They are giving a 5% discount to people at Movies for those dates if asked. My CM already knew all about it, and I was his first customer yesterday.

I'm seeing some conflicting information on the discounts available for the Contemporary under the late summer RO offer. I called yesterday to get the discount added and saved 20%. However, I am seeing from the Dis Announcements that the discount should be 30%. It's a standard view, garden wing room. What should I be saving? :confused3

Thanks for your help!

With so many people taking advantage of the discounts, will the end of august still see low crowds? We're going in the last week of the month, which has had really low crowds for five years past; hoping this doesn't change!

I sure hope the crowd levels stay low! If FD is usually offered during that time and the crowd levels are low then I can't imagine it being more crowded without FD...

we were there 2 years ago at the end of august during free dining and even with free dining the parks didn't seem too busy. lines were manageable and even TSM had fast passes available past noon!

Keep this in mind too. In years prior, release day of free dining has been crazy, with hour+ waits on the phones and all. This time was painless, with everyone waiting 15 minutes or less it seemed, very short hold times. If Thursday follows the same way as Monday, that means not alot of people are calling in and booking. Plus, on top of free dining release, you also had the room discounts going as well...and still short hold times.

I'll be curious to see how the wait times are on Thursday and go from there.

Yes and people need to realize that even if everyone that has posted in this thread and the FD thread that Black created went to disney at the exact same time, it wouldn't even make a dent in the overall crowd totals

Nope, not even in a single attraction.

But what a fun line that would be to wait in....with all of you folks!!! :thumbsup2

Oh the hours I've spent on hold early in the morning for free dining! I was SO pleasantly surprised that I only had to wait 10 minutes for this discount :cool1:

Thanks for the heads up Black!! I never get email offers from Dis Visa. You saved us a bundle!:cheer2:

That's what it's all about. I saved a bunch too...lovin' it. :cool1:

So lets say I book a room only then want to add the discount ticket option that then makes it a package correct? so I would need a $200 deposit? if indeed the room was less or how does that work never done it like this before .

Or maybe Disney knew it would be a big day and beefed up their staff lol. Either way- patiently waiting for Thursday!

I booked a package with tickets and got a discount on the room, but tickets were full price, so probably no advantage to booking a package vs. room only. Yes, you only need a $200 deposit for a package.

I'm planning on booking Pop from Aug. 25th-29th tomorrow...anyone think I should be worried of it selling out? Worst case I have to switch to ASMu Or sports but I prefer POP

We always do Sept or Jan and it has been wonderful. I have no issue taking the kids (9,7) out of school for WDW or any vacation. I cannot stand crowds so these times are great. Even with FD.

Just a heads up, someone is reporting that a phone CM told them that sports will be undergoing a major reno of their food court in August and you'll have to shuttle to the other AS for hot food. Details in the Sports info thread. Might want to double check before booking there.

What are the chances that I will be off the phone by 7:30 tomorrow???

I have a meeting that starts at 7:30. If I can get to work at 7 instead of 7:30, I can spend that first half hour on the phone. But then I'll have to hang up. ARGH!
