August planners, lets plan together!

We are going August 25 thru Sept. 3. I am also waiting for the hours to come out! We are staying at the ASMu. DD and her girls (both 12) and my grandson who is 2 now. We have tentative plans for the parks and the resturants we want to do. We will be on the dining plan.

First night is always Chef Mickey's
Tusker House - breakfast
Crystal Place - breakfast for Pooh
Hollywood and Vine - breakfast hoping for Handy Manny
Biergarten - Dinner
Cape May - Dinner
Teppen Edo - Dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern - Dinner
Mexico - lunch? just not sure yet

All these could change when the hours come out!!!

We were there last August too, in the middle of "Fay"-it was great! We walked right on to most rides-the longest wait we had for anything was 10 minutes. Granted, we did wear our ponchos a lot, but our moods faired better in cool and rainy than they usually do in hot and sunny. We were there before the free dining, so that kept the crowd levels a bit lower, too. We're heading back this August-4th to the 11th. Can't wait.

Hey LongIslandGirl :wave2:
We're heading back August 4th - 11th as well! We'll be across the lake from you at the Boardwalk Inn. It's our first time there so we hope we love it. I don't suppose you're interested in sharing an Illuminations Cruise??? We can't decide if we want to do the Wildlife Discovery Excursion or the Cruise but if we shared a cruise it's possible we could do both. :cool1:
Happy planning everyone!:woohoo:

You have to check into the hotel to get your KTTW but they will hold your stuff until your room is ready. We have arrived at the resort at 10am and our room was ready and they let us check in.

Planning to go August 8-16. Last time I was there in August, I swore that I would never go back during that time because it was so HOT!! I couldn't pass up the great airfare, though, and the chance to go twice  this summer and see my nieces. I'm hoping to get ADR's to some new places that we haven't tried before. I'm considering Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey's, or 1900 Park Fare.:cool1:

:yay:Hi Everyone! We are going the 16th thru the 23rd and are staying at POP. There will be four of us this time, usually we are a Grand Gathering group but not this time. We already know where we want to eat, heres the list:

Biergarten @ Germany
Garden Grill @ The Land (Hopefully the first seating) and then late emh
Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch following early emh
Planet Hollywood(using the vouchers)
Rose and Crown @ The United Kingdom for dinner. I am going to request an outdoor table and a 7:45 reservation so we can watch Illuminations
San Angel Inn @ Mexico
Teppen Edo @ Japan
Whispering Canyon Cafe @ Widerness Lodge:cool1:

We also have to get fish & chips at Epcot and sit and enjoy the band, go to Typhoon Lagoon and Disney Quest. Would also love to do mini golf.

We are not booking breakfast becasuse I don't think my daughters will be up early, they want to do all the late emh's.

Hopefully hours will be posted soon!

Happy Planning everyone!!!!!!!

I'm taking my sister for a quick weekend August 14th to 17th. Any ideas what to do for 28 and 19 year old?

We are heading down 8/23-9/1 staying at CBR with free dining. Last time we went was Aug 2007 and it was hot but not real crowded.

Our meals so far are Chef Mickeys, Boma, Ohana, Whspering Canyon Cafe, LeCellier, SciFi, Cape May Cafe. We will do Counter servie at PizzaPlanet, Cantina de San Angel, Cosmic Rays, FlameTree. All breakfasts will be at CBR food court as Dha nd I are the only ones that eat it. The kids(DD16 and DS12) will eat a bagel or something.

No idea on park days yet....

Going August 8-15 for our first family trip! Have many character meals on our ADR list - but really hoping for CRT on my dd's bday!!!

We will be there 8/16-8/23 so excited. First time.
I have no clue where we are eating besides trying to get a breakfast at Crystal Palace and with Donald. Then since we have the free dining I want to do alot of character meals. We are driving down from Philly.
Does anyone know how early you can arrive at the hotel to get you checked in? When you get your package from Disney does it include your tickets so you can head out right away?

Hey - we are driving from near Philly too - Uggh I hate the long drive, but I love having our car.

We are also doing a lot of character and family style meals during our free dining portion of our trip too.

You can check in as soon as you get there, but rooms are not guaranteed ready till 4pm. If your room is clean they will give it to you then, if not you can check in, but you have to check later to see if you room is ready. No matter what it will be ready by 4pm.

That would be awesome if the room was done...i just want the tickets :)
Thanks for all your help

We will be there too, from August 16 - 24th. We are flying over from London and staying at the AKL with free dining. We were not going to have an American holiday this year as we are saving up for Christmas and New Year at WDW next year, but we decided on a quick trip for our anniversary seen as free dining was offered. I too am anxiously awaiting the hours to be out so I can finalise my plans. We want to spend as much time in the parks as possible, but will take an afternoon break each day to chill out from the heat. We will be bringing our rain coats ready for the daily downpours that we will no doubt get, but we are English so used to rain!! I have also decided that seen as it is my birthday a month before we go that we will do the Backstage Safari tour for my present. We enjoy doing a tour each time we go to a Disney park.
So for meals we have though we would like to eat at: Boma, Yachtsmans Steakhouse, California Grill (not on DDP), Sanaa, Mama Melrose, Le Cellier, Coral Reef and Crystal Palace.

For dining we are hoping for these during our stay:
4 of our days are at Sea World and Universal

Mythos - Island of Adventure
Finnegans Pub & Grill - Universal Studios
Sharks - Sea World
Jiko - Dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern - Lunch

Our family will be there Aug 3 - Aug 13. This is our first time and I am sooooooooooooooo excited. :cool1: I am sure I am much more than my kiddos. Twins DD(10) and DS(10) and DD(7). DD(10) is helping me plan every step of the way, so that has been fun for us.

We are staying off-site at Windsor Hills Resort. We wanted to stay on-site, but with the five of us it was a ton cheaper to get a townhouse. Besides DH is an awesome cook, so we can eat some meals there.

We were there last year during Tropical Storm Fay :umbrella: -I can attest that staying hydrated was NOT a concern! It did help keep the temps down, however. Hope you all have a dry stay.

Too funny! We were there for Fay too! By midweek I told my DW that I would rather be wet in an empty park than sweltering in a packed one and she just shot me one of those looks. oops sorry dear. I still think it was our best trip to date.

But don't tell her I said that.

I was there at the same time last year dropping son off at Disney College. It rained all day for 4 days straight. I was wondering how anyone could be enjoying the parks?

Well, we just had to reschedule from early June to August due to the kid's sport schedules.

I may also be rescheduling from June to Aug this year, but what concerns me is the weather as far as Hurricane activity. Also do the parks stay open late in Aug?

We depart from Northern Virginia by car on Friday August 21 making 2 stops on the way down (Savannah and Daytona Beach) and checking in on August 23 and staying until August 30. Staying at AS Movies, 2 rooms, 6 people: 37 DH (me), 43 DW, 22 DD, 17 DS, 15 DS, 13 DD. Got in on the free dinning plan with park hoppers, not doing water parks and more. Waiting for the park hours to be released so we can plan our days. We have our list of dinning reservations we want to get and will make that call on the 90 day window.
