August planners, lets plan together!

We'll be there - myself, wife, daughter(7) and son (5) on Monday 8/24 through Sat 8/29, then its off on a Disney Cruise!
We planned on staying a day or two before the cruise, but the free dining persuaded us. This is our 4th straight year in the parks!
Our tentative plan -
looking at past EMHs, it looks like MK is usually Tues and Thurs so I am using that as a baseline for our plan, but will modify when the hours are released.
Mon - POFQ pool, and relax. TRex at DTD for dinner
Tues - MK, hit fantasyland, frontierland, adventureland- Ohana for dinner
Weds - Epcot, LeCellier for dinner, if no ressies available, try for Friday and swap with DHS. LeCellier is our all time favorite Disney rest
For lunch, table service at San Angel. We always wanted to try it as the location looks great.
Thurs - MK - tomorrowland, toon town, - Crytsal Palace for lunch, back to hotel to swim and relax
Friday - DHS (or epcot depending on LeCellier!), Mama Melrose for dinner
Saturday - Breakfast at the hotel and off to Port Canaveral for a week on the Magic!!!!

We will be there from 13th to the 21st,

Hoping to eat at
Cinderella's Royal Table, Breakfast
Chef Mickey's any

This is one of many trips so looking forward to having fun with my family my three kids 6,4,2 my parents, my aunt and uncle and my best friend.

Any tips for getting reservations?
:tinker:

Something to keep in mind- Coral Reef is in EPCOT and that isn't on the list of places you want to go. To get into the park, even to eat, you need a park ticket. But, that said, we really enjoyed Coral Reef for our lunch last August. Great service and food. :goodvibes
And, :thumbsup2 to your other restaurants! The only one we haven't done is Donald's, but we've heard it good and are looking to try it for this August!
We are going to epcot not DS:confused3I dont know why I wrote that silly me!

for you guys who arre driving a long way......how much snack food do you bring in the car? how many movies should I bring? I dont want to over pack but I want the kids to have lots to do too. thnks nettii:goodvibes

We're driving down from Michigan as well! August 24- 30 at Pop.
Since it is free dining, I'm having fun trying to plan TS meals.

Possibilities include: Hoop De Doo, 1900 Park Fare, Le Cellier, Tepan Edo, Ohana, Coral Reef, and 50's Prime Time. (I know I have a lot of popular choices so I'll be calling early on my 90 day and have 2nd and 3rd choices too.)

HI disboards friends
My family will be in Disney aug 23-28 2009 .We are staying at the Fort Wilderness cabins. We are driving from Ny . I was waiting for the Aug hours myself. My 18 year old cannot wait to do the xtra magic hours. This is our very first time staying in The world .
Does anyone know since we cannot check in until 3:00 pm ,however we do have park hopper tickets for all our days, Since we will be in Florida already Can we use our tickets on sunday before we check in to our cabin or do we have to wait until after check in to our resort before we can use our park hopper tickets We are renting a house in Orlando from August 16-23
then checking in to Disney .(My 18 year old son for high school graduation wanted to stay in Disney .)We have a 5 day park hopper so really would like to get as much use as possible.
Thanks

We are going August 14-23... Getting in late Friday night and hitting the beach Saturday We booked 2 nights room only so we could book a package starting Sunday August 16 with the free dining...

I am a super anal over planner, so this is what I've come up with based on shows, heat and park hours from previous August and this summer's hours. We have no park hopper passes and are planning on heading back to the pool at the resort around 11 or 12, then back to the park before the afternoon parade. Of course things are apt to change if the park hours change/very/whatever for August...

Thoughts? Suggestions? Here is my plan...

Sunday

EMH at night
Cinderella’s Royal Table Breakfast(2TS)

We are going in August!!!! :woohoo:

We are surprising the kids with our first WDW trip. My Mom is going too.

I have put countless hours into planning this thing. I really think I'd be ashamed to know how many... but I've had so much darn fun doing it!

I have lots of lists... packing list, shopping list, garden grocer list, time line of what to do and when to do it... you name it- its most likely been considered as part of this trip!

We are staying off site. My dh couldn't handle a week of sharing a room with the kids. :rotfl2: We have a 3 bedroom condo and will eat most of our meals there.

I plan to make ADRs for breakfast at Akershus Hall and Chef Mickey's. We may hit up Le Cellier for lunch one day and dh and I may sneak in a casual date at Whispering Canyon Cafe. I'd like to go to T-Rex our first night there.

I'm just chomping at the bit now for TGM to list the green parks for the 8th through the 15th. popcorn::

DS8(turning 9 two days before the trip), are going 8/24-9/1. We were there last year during TS Faye-and I swore I would never go in August again--but when that 40% off code came, I couldn't resist. We are trying Deluxe Dining this year, and both water parks. We also spend one day at US/IOA. DS also likes Disney Quest and mini-golf. We are trying some new signature dining experiences-California Grill, Yachtman Steakhouse, and Narcoosee's. I pushed Epcot to my last full day in hopes of having no problem getting Le Cellier for dinner (yes, I will be disappointed if I don't get it).
I forgot to mention, we are staying at AKL for the first time this trip:cool1::banana::banana:
Good luck making your ADR's everybody, and enjoy your trip!!:yay::yay:

DH and I will be down Aug 16-23. Hoping to get ADR's at San Angel Inn - Mexico, Coral Reef - EPCOT, Sci Fi - DHS. Not sure where else we want to eat, thinking about using 2 TS meals for Cinderella's Castle but not sure it is worth it without the kids. Also considering Raglan Road in DTD. Anyone else have places they must have dinner?

I only read the first page, but wanted to jump in and join the thread too. We're doing a mom/son trip with my DS (then 16) and will be at Pop from August 24-30.

I just wanted to let you know that we did the surfing twice on our last trip because we had such a blast. Both times I think DH & I were the only non-teens (or almost teens), but I was amazed that I still did really well. We had booked a backup day in case we got weathered out on the first day and had so much fun that we went back again.

If you're interested in reading the details and seeing a bunch of pics, you can click on my trip report link in my signature and just scroll through the days to read those two days. Looking forward to meeting all of you here on this thread!

Guess I'm going to try to be edging you out on that morning since we'll be calling the same day! We're also looking for Le Cellier, Ohana, and 50's Prime Time from your list!

We were from Michigan for many years (hence my screenname) and I grew up there. We're flying this time because we got air for $175 each, which for 2 people (one without a license yet!), you certainly can't beat!

I'm in. We'll be there from 8/8 through 8/15 taking advantage of 4/3 package. We re-upped after having such a great time in Jan. We're on the Deluxe Dining. We're gonna do a little more of a relaxed trip since when we went in Jan. I hadn't been in years and literally got like everything in. This time we're looking for...

1) Le Cellier (booked out last time)
2) California Grill (Great last time)
3) CRT (which for lunch is great...something about eating in the castle overlooking Fantasyland is magical)
4) Brown Derby (maybe with the Fantasmic dinner package)
5) Kona Cafe

And Splash Mountain was closed for it's Jan refurb, so that's a major focus of this trip.

We are planning to take it nice and easy this August! We will be at Saratoga Springs from Aug. 16 - 21. We are staying on points so no free dining for us. We are buying the quick service dining plan this time so we can come and go as we please and not have to worry about ADRs! We are going to sleep late..swim..hit the parks in the evenings! I will be 6 months prego so I need to take it slow and it will be our kids 4th trip so there's no mad rush to see anything! I can't wait!

How far is disney from Cocoa beach?

About an hour - its a very easy drive. We go down once or twice a trip usually. I don't think we will this year though - we have a pretty full trip planned this time.

MelanieC That is great!! Yeah long drive but flying just seems to be adding on way too much to our vacation, plus we would be losing 2 days to get the cheaper flights so after much discussion we are driving.
Good luck

Since we are going down the same time and I need to get rezs for my daughter I say...Cinderellas Castle is a bad idea without kiddies unless its for lunch or dinner since i hear its really hard for breakfast :flower3:
