August 25 2012

Hi, we have booked Aug 25 2012 as a dummy cruise but may also decide to take the cruise as well. If we do cruise we would love to join the cruise group and fish extender exchange -- can I send you a private message with our details?

PM me anytime,
Christine

Haven't been around but finally caught up on the going ons of this board. Wow it is busy. That's great to see. We are on the January 15th, 2012 (4 day) sailing on the Dream and there is like 5 posts total.

I just looked up the price for our room (a 5A) and the price is now $7300. We booked the cruise on board and we paid $5175 for the four of us. Taking the 10% into account this rate went up $1400 from last January '11 to now (7 months). I think that is the most I have ever seen the price go up and for this cruise to still be 13 months out it's amazing to me.

Very excited as we get closer. I think once the announcement is made on the FE we might get involved for the first time as this trip will boost us up into the Gold castaway club status. So I figured we would finally get involved. Although, there might be so many families participating could that be a full time job and logistical nightmare? Plus our family is not very crafty so we may have to find someone elsewhere to make ours. I have seen places like eBay that has some.

Tim

Travelers: me, DW, and the twins DS and DD(almost 11 at sailing)

Who wishes it was August 25th, 2012???<--- This lady right here does!!!!!

My same room would be over 1500 more now... insane!

We are actually in room 8092. The first page says 6088, but we moved.

Hello Fellow Cruisers,
I have updated the Master List, please let me know if I miss anything. We have 45 plus rooms filled with our group and there are still over 13 months to go!!! Sounds like a great party!! I think we should start thinking about a name for our group, we are going on the Fantasy, in August, to the Carribean, in 2012, for a week, we are a big group, we span many gererations, what else??? I am sure given all that input some creative soul out there should be able to come up with a slogan for our trip.

For some added excitment here is a cool video too watch

Thanks for udating the list. I just wanted to let you know that my parents room is now 8056. We were able to get the room connected to us. Cannot wait almost a year away!

Well, I'm not yet wishing it was Aug. 2012, I'm WISHING it was SEPT. 2011!!
We had my sons Birthday party this past Saturday Where we revealed the DREAM cruise to him though a treasure hunt (calendar and shirt were buried in the park in a tin, he had to use the map, metal detector and shovel to find it). He too has been telling me again and again that he can't WAIT till 2012, he want's a Disney Cruise NOW!! So he opened his treasure and once he read the Calendar and then the Shirt which indicates the DREAM in Sept 2011, he was confused (Ok he just turned 8, so his logic doesn't work the same way as someone older), and said "But I thought it was called the Fantasy, and I already know about it" We had to have him read the Shirt again, and then here was his reaction:

http://

He left yesterday for the 2nd sleepaway camp, and when he returns this Friday we will do some more packing and start our FE gifts, THEN we can focus on the NEXT cruise :thumbsup2

I can't wait - my family will be joining all of you :yay:
Jennifer (ME), Brett (DH), Emily 14 (DD) and Mason 13 (DS).
My DD will turn 15 on this cruise

We sailed the Dream in April 2011 but never looked at the cabins in the front of the ship. We have three cabins, two are midship and one is Forward. I am alittle worried now as we did not select our cabins our TA did and we didnt get the assignments until after the fact. The three people that are in the forward cabin have never cruised, do you think this will make their first cruising a bad experience. I know personally I cannot even spend time on the front of the ship as it make me sick.

My DD will be 17 on board...as for the threads for them, what we did for our last cruise in Feb '11, the kids linked up on Facebook and have kept in contact since the cruise. We met some great families with kids our ages our last cruise and still keep in contact. It was very nice to hook up with them online first.

Thank you..the wonderful world of facebook. LOL How were the kids able to hook up? Did the parents exchange information on here first? or did they create a group on facebook.

What is everyone doing about the dining and show time popcorn::choices?

I picked main dining and the 9:00 show. My thought was the twins would not want to eat late and we also did not want to rush back from an excursion to get to the 5:00 show. I figured that it would be better if they fell asleep at the show instead of in their plates!

We did the Dream on the April-May cruise and took the late dining. Worked out Fantastic at the time my little ones were DD 8 and DD4. We signed up for the dine and play program and when the counselors came around before I could even say go, they were gone. They feed the kids as soon as they sit down, so it is great. by the way my 4 yr old even stayed in the kids club to 11:30 everynight. taking the nap after the excursions and then show worked out great before dinner.

Yes...parents exchanged info first by PM...parents would find other parents who had kids the same age on the thread and then you could exchange info and the kids ended up making a group of facebook. I know for another cruise the adults also made a group on FB too.

Those forward rooms are roomy according to reports and photos. The front wall is slanted, which I think is pretty cool. However the people with you that will be in that forward stateroom Are two of them a couple? I mention this because most of the Forward staterooms have only two beds (the Double and the sofa bed), no drop down out of the ceiling bed. If two of the 3 are a couple then the bed situation is fine and they should be ok in that stateroom. As far as rocking goes, I don't think it really matters. I get motion sick easily and on our last cruise, it didn't matter WHERE on the ship I was, I felt it, but even then it was only on that first night heading out through the Gulf Stream?

Thank you I will start working on that :)

Thank you for the update, the sleeping should be ok as its two of my daughters and one of their friends. I am still a little worried about the front part, but I guess you are right if they are going to get sick , they are going to get sick. Wish we would have known we would have gotten them the family oceanview room.

I was able to change the 2nd half of our B2B to a Cat 9B from the A because the stateroom we were assigned for that one is the one with just the two beds. It will be myself, my 8yr old son and my friend threeiscrazy travelling together (Sheri and I are leaving the rest of the family behind for the Dream LOL) . Although I could share the large bed with my son, I figure, I'm on Vacation, why should we have to share a bed, when I booked what I was used to on the Wonder. Thats how I learned that what is one Cat. on the Wonder and Magic, is not always going to be the same in the same category on the Dream. The 9B's on the Dream are exactly like the Cat. 9's I booked on the Wonder. The 9A we got for the first half of our B2B is a corner forward room, and HA room and is very big, has the 3 beds, and we're happy with that :thumbsup2

Prices for our cruise have gone up again. The cabin we are in, 5D, has gone up another $330 since last week. I am soooo happy that I booked onboard before the price skyrocketed. That, along with the 10% discount on the cruise fare for rebooking onboard, brings us to $1625.40 less than the going price right now.:thumbsup2

Wow - I just checked ours and almost fell over. We have 10 people traveling 2 adults in a 5A, 2 adults and 1 child in a 5A, 2 adults in an 8B and 2 adults, 1 child in an 8B. We rebooked in February so with the 10% discount our total was $13,400. I thought that was a lot but figured we'd splurge a little. If I booked the same thing today the cost would be $20,919. And we're still a year out.

My TA told me that the cheapest the 3 of us could get on our Aug 25th sailing is now $2000 more than I we paid for it!! Yikes! She also told me that the inside staterooms are all sold out and DCL isn't giving any FL resident rates on the Dream and Fantasy as they are selling fine without the incentive. And where is the recession????????
