August 2015, it's early but who's with me?!

Thanks, everyone, for the replies. I think that we will plan for the end of August. I'm really looking for low crowds - our first visit in August was incredible (hmmm, first time magic?), so I'm hoping that we can recreate a bit of that. As far as the "magical deal' that everyone has been mentioning...I'm a bit apprehensive about a travel agency - especially one that I haven't had any experience with. I think that I've found the one that everyone has been mentioning, and the price savings is awesome. Would anyone mind PM'ing me about their experience with this agency? I just want to make sure that I'm not doing something that I'll regret later on...
they are now endorsed by the Tikiman.....if you follow much about the Polynesian that doesn't get much better ;)

Thank you! I appreciate the response. This will be our first stay at the Poly - a deluxe, at that! - so I am familiar. That's reassuring info.

We traveled august 2013 with the "deal" we stayed club level at the YC. I was very worried about giving up my "control" and using a TA. We booked 3 rooms on 3 different reservations and had no issues at all.

We also traveled during one of the testing times b4 magic bands were rolled out to everyone. I have to say I loved them, our bands were mailed to our house with no issues. We had no problems using them either but we didn't load a credit card to them.

The only thing that was different was we were not mailed the voucher booklet because u are traveling under a convention type ticket. You do receive a letter with ME information and the magic bands are scanned to get on ME.

We are planning on traveling the same way this year with the deal. It's hot I'm not going to lie but it's worth the crowd levels. I think May was the same type of heat but with longer lines. No thank you.

The magical deals were not worth it for us for early August (our pre-honeymoon).
It came out to 1154$ for 3 nights (2-5/08) with 4-day park hopper for the Port Orleans (moderate).
Polynesian was 1618$.
Contemp was 1442$.

We went with DVC rental points with someone on this forum at the BoardWalk Villas garden/pool view for 695$ which I think was a good deal instead of staying at a moderate.

Then on Orbitz there is a 3 day park-hopper + 2 free days for 344$ pp.
Comes out to 68$ per day.

So this comes out to total 1384$ with an extra day park ticket (total 5). That's only 100$ ea person more than with the Port Orleans quoted.
I guess I just wanted something better than a value or moderate resort since it's after our wedding... and also the option to add the dining plan at 60$ pp per day.

Sorry for all the questions but I just want to be sure I have the correct info:

1. this is a legit and good TA
2. you can use the magical express to get to hotel and airport
3. you get the extra magic hours
4. you get your conf # and can link it to you MDE app
5. you can still book your own ADR's and FP ressies
6. its a $200 deposit with balance due 45 prior
7. can cancel 5 days prior and still get full refund

now for questions i'm not so sure about, keep in mind I am planning on going Aug 14 to 23 and not the labor day deal

8. what if you already have magic bands, can you use them or do you have to use the new ones?
9. a.) what if you want the dining plan? b.) is it still a discount?
10. to see if this is a better deal then the free dining, you can go to the Disney web site and enter the hotel and park tickets to get the price and compare it to the TA's magical quote?
11. can the hotel still check you in for your return flight?

Thanks

The answer is "yes" for 1-7. We are going Aug. 10-17...the only day we had to pay slightly more for was the night of the 10th. Your dates are good for the Labor Day deal pending availability.

8. Not sure....we always just use the new ones
9. No dining plan with the Labor Day deal
10. Sure
11. Can't help with this one...never had them do it.

Hope this helps you a bit! Have fun planning! :-)

To answer your final question- yes. The hotel can check you in for your return flight. We had a wonderful, perfect experience booking with them!

I have used the magical deal twice already and am booked for a third time this August-have had no problems at all and love them!

We are booked August 22-28 at GF. We have stayed at the Poly cl before but decided to try something new. Very excited!!

After reading about said "magical deal" I emailed them for a quote...awaiting a response. What do you NOT get with them that you would with Disney directly? We are already booked with Disney for August so I am very eager to see what the savings would be. I understand the DDP doesn't come with "magical deal" so how would one go about adding that, I thought you couldn't do that? Also with them it says MYW does that mean you can't add hoppers?

Thanks!!!

You can get park hopper tickets that are discounted through this agency. They are less expensive than Disney and UT ( at least they were two years ago). You cannot add the dining plan to the August promotion. You would have to pay oop for food.

Quick question - so for early August, neither the Magical deal nor renting points would get us a better deal than just making a reservation for POP through Disney will it? We have reservations from BB free dining for the end of August but may have to switch to the beginning of August depending on which college my son decides to attend. Very sad to potentially have to give up our free dining - and have higher room rates! Thank you!

We booked with them for the first time. Just added an extra day. It's an unbelievable discount. We're staying at the Poly from 8/15 to 8/22. Our TA is such a wonderful, helpful person. Really looking forward to the huge savings! It's hot in August, but have been there before during that month. The good thing is that we all love the heat. No problem for us! :dance3:

My son's friend was able to book my Girl's Only trip today using her F&F discount. DD19 and I will be staying at PoP for the first time starting 8/10. :woohoo:

I just googled 'magical deal labor day' and came up with the site. I sent in an email and received a quote within a couple of hours. It's a really good deal :thumbsup2

which email did you use to contact them ? I send them an email in the first of december for a quote and never got a response from them.

I've been trying to decide between the last week in August and early November ("Jersey week"), and this "magical deal" might just push me to choose August! I've requested a quote, so we'll see where that goes.

Only thing is, I want a WL room with bunk beds. Anyone know if that's available through this particular deal?

:goodvibes

We couldn't pass up the August deal either. We are doing the Poly. I think the WL discount was for a standard room only. Double check on their website though.

Thanks! You're right, the standard room is what was listed on their site, but I included a request that we want the bunk beds room. I'll post back once they respond to me & let y'all know what they say. I have squirmy, kicky kids, and we'll all be miserable if we try to share beds, so those bunk beds are a must.
