August 2015, it's early but who's with me?!

This year free dining started on Labor Day or after Labor Day, I believe. I've heard reports that free dining will probably start after Labor Day for 2015 but who knows.

If the trend continues it wouldn't have mattered since we go the week before Labor Day since my kids start school the day after Labor Day.

My plan was to stay in a moderate and not get the DDP. DDP doesn't work for us. The price of the Beach Club is $202 a night. So we jumped at it. Especially with the discounted tickets the agency offers too. A moderate was around the same price before a RO discount but for us worth the extra few bucks to stay Deluxe and walking distance to Epcot.

How much of a savings on the tickets compared to UT?

Sounds like a great deal if you were planning to go for moderate anyways. Any other room perks that you can't live without?

I'll agree that the chance of dining plan general discount before labor day is abysmal. But what are the chances of getting a target pin or a visa card owners dining discount before labor day? Not very good, I know, but a little better I think or I hope.

Enjoy your trip!

Four 8 day park hoppers are around $100 cheaper than UT. We also get a free day at DQ, mini golf or one of the water parks for "free."

What's the harm in booking one while you wait for the other?:confused3

Thanks to this thread, we found out about the :wizard: "magical" deal and we booked it for 5 nights at the Beach Club before our cruise on Royal Caribbean out of Port Canaveral!

We probably would have booked something at Caribbean Beach, our usual resort, but with the special deal, we got BC for a little less than what CBR would have been (plus got the bonus on the tickets - which will come in handy as the kids love the water parks and will want to go to one). We've stayed at BC once before (with a 35% off PIN) and loved it, but find it difficult to justify the cost to go there on a regular basis. So thank you everyone :grouphug: .

We just decided to go again this August. We'll be going Aug 27-September 2nd. We went this same week in 2014, it was very hot but not very crowded, we also scored free dinning last year (with a unique discount aka pin code) with 5 kids we have fingers crossed to get one again.

So I have slaked off totally, all the fp+ stuff kinda turned me off! but I still want to keep my eyes open in case. Any rumors of a code yet? :rolleyes1

Question about the "magical deal." Do you need to get park tickets? I have an annual pass.

I just submitted my request for a quote on our "magical" deal. While We are waiting, can you guys answer a couple of questions? Would going with the "magical" deal include Magical express transportation and do they book flights or do we do that ourselves?

The "magical" deal does include Magical Express. As for flights, I believe you can book them yourself or ask for help. After you get your quote, email back and ask to be sure. I've gotten fairly quick responses (less than 24 hours) when asking questions.

PS. This is my first post, thanks for asking a question I knew the answer to and prompting me to stop lurking! Looking forward to my own "magical" deal and my first time at Disney in 20 years...at the Poly!

thank you!!

I just changed our magical plans for next August...

I had 10 nights reserved at the Poly from 8/16-26. Got to thinking we've never stayed at an Epcot area resort and saw the BC/YC was included in the agency exclusive. So now we're booked for 5 nights at the Poly 8/16-21 followed by 5 nights at the YC 8/21-26. Making the changed even saved us an additional $100, the YC is $20 per night less than the Poly.

The last split stay we did was Pop/WL to see what we thought of a value resort. Learned it wasn't out cup of tea. Looking forward to this split stay!

Hi folks! I got my "magical" quote. It is very good for 8 days at WL--but it comes to say about a 30% discount. It is good, but reading these posts, I thought it was going to be like WOW! Now, our dates include 3 days not in the discount + 5 days in the discount. Am I missing something? Is there a better deal on Poly? Is that why it looks like so many folks are booking Poly? Just can't decide if we should take the deal now, or wait until Disney releases it's discounts (which historically would be about 30% in the time we will travel in August). Thoughts?:scratchin

I'm saving more than 50% off the rack rate at the Poly. When I ran the numbers for all the resorts offered in the Labor Day Deal, the Poly had the best savings. I'm paying $223/night. :thumbsup2

You need to look at the nightly rate for the "5 days in the discount" - that should be the WOW! factor. It's the "3 days not in the discount" that is dragging your percentage savings down.

We booked 10 days in the discount - 5 at Poly and 5 at YC - and are saving close to 52%. That's not WOW!, it's :cool1:WOW! :cool1:
