What were the fees and taxes after the $32.99 per day? I have found lots of "deals" but once they add on all the fees and taxes it comes out to closer to $70.00 a day!

. I payed $48.95 in taxes and fees. It came out to 178.95 for everything for five days. I couldn't come anywhere near that rate, because we were under a week. Not sure how yours was coming out to $70/day? Good luck

Is the Flying Blue code still working? I have my car booked with it but as we get closer to the date I am trying to get the price down and the code in not being accepted. The National website says 'no vehicle available for this station. Please try another location.'

Have any of you seen this? I haven't looked at this thread for a long time....been dealing with illness in the family so I am very much out of the loop.

Go back to page 20, post 291 for the official email reply from National.

The short summary: National is honouring all confirmed reservations using the KLM discount code. It is no longer valid on any new rentals.

So...I have a rental through Budget($169, taxes and fees included) for a compact car, Aug 8-17.

My problem is that when I booked it, I thought we'd be flying out after work, probably arriving 8 or 9 pm and gave myself a little cushion by booking 6pm Aug 8 to 6pm Aug 17.

My husband took that Friday off and we're landing around 2 pm. Also have a 1pm flight home, so would be picking up 4 hours earlier, and dropping off 6 hours earlier,, so no extra time..

When I tried to change the times, the price went waaaay up, so I'm leaving it as is and hoping for the best.

Anyone have any experience of arriving a few hours earlier and picking up the car?

I've had this issue and I have found calling the customer care line is your best best. The two times I did they changed my times and honored my booked rate

I've never rented with Budget, but I have picked up cars hours early (and dropped off a couple hours late) numerous times and never had an issue.

I just checked my dates and my Alamo rates have come down. They aren't at the level where they beat my original booking, but they did in fact come down. I'm now 2 weeks out. Maybe some other people will be able to find better rates. Let's keep checking and let people know on this thread!

I just checked rates for my dates (I am one week behind you RysMomma). Prices are still ridonkulous. Alamo is $1123 vs my $466 with National. The only one that's coming close is EZ Rent a Car at $544 (midsize SUV in all cases).

Thanks for the heads up that the decline might be coming, though. Its a good reminder to keep looking, looking, looking!

I have $200 midsize for aug 13-21 with payless. Used them before with no issue other than they are not in the airport. I cant get near that except with fox, ez or advantage which i will not use. Reviews are awful plus offsite too.

I just booked through car rental savers .com. Alamo had a good rate for a full size car 8 days $170 total with taxes etc. That's the cheapest I've seen in the past 2 months.

Thanks for posting this I just got a great rate at Alamo booked a standard but since there is no standard aisle at MCO we will pick from the full size aisle. Aug. 26-Sept 2 7 days for $151! I had a car reserved with Budget for $180 its nice to see it going down!! I used code 7014926 and coupon code AF4469SDU Linda

Thanks for posting. I tried these codes but unfortunately the Alamo site says they are not valid codes. Did you put 7014926 in as coupon code, product code, or contract ID? (I tried it in all 3 spots).

If I booked a car with Alamo using an Entertainment Book coupon, do I have to check in at the counter or am I allowed to do it at a kiosk (or online) and bypass the counter? I haven't gone in five years, so forgive me for my questions!

Hertz and Dollar are coming down a bit as well. Still higher than what I have booked at Hertz, but there is some downward movement. Don't give up yet.

My mid August rates are still so high. I just checked your codes for a week 8/15 to 8/22 for a mini van and get $794. I guess that should make me happier with the $368 I already have booked but I'll still keep checking.
