I'm stitchfan531, and this is my countdown thread to my Graduation Trip! We are currently T minus twenty three days, sixteen hours, and forty nine minutes and counting until me and my two best friends leave from our boring old suburban residence to go to the Happiest Place on Earth!
A little bit about me and my friends. You may recognize me and my writing style and vacation plans from another poster, Stitch of The Gang Of Five. We are one and the same, I just created another account because I wanted to continue posting AFTER the trip, and we're also not going as a group of five anymore
. So now we're The Three Mouseketeers, with me, Stitchfan, Mouseketeer1 (MSKTR1), and Mouseketeer2 (MSKTR2).
MSKTR1 is also known as The Gang Of Five's Lilo, a certified Disney Princess and my absolute best friend since second grade. She's been to the World a couple of times, but never with someone who's as big a Disney Parks freak as me
.
MSKTR2 is also known as The Gang Of Five's Pleakley. She's a wonderfully droll and witty person, and I've known her through all four years of high school and hopefully beyond (when she and one of my other best friends get into it, the rest of us can only sit back and pray we don't wet ourselves from laughing!). MSKTR2 has NEVER been to the World, and I'm really looking forward to introducing her to the magic! Keep an eye out on the actual trip report for quotes from MSKTR2, the master of sarcasm and drollallity (... umm... I don't think that's an actual word, but I'm gonna put it there anyway!)
This trip has its roots in another trip that me and my parents took, Lord, two years ago, now. We were sitting in Ohana just talking, and out of the clear black sky (it was late and we were sitting down to dinner), my amazing, awesome, incredible mother, from whom I'm learning everything I can about Disney trip planning, asks me if I want to take a trip down to the World the summer after my senior year of high school with my friends
. Would I? WOULD I?! OF COURSE I WOULD!! So, January of our junior year, I gathered all of my closest friends (there were five of us at the time, hence the name The Gang Of Five) and pitched the idea to them. Their faces just LIT UP
. The only catch was that we'd have to pay for everything but the room ourselves (my wonderful mommy was gonna take care of that little detail for us!).
After months of planning, working, and saving, we got all of our reservations, plane tickets, and room reservation. Unfortunately, two of our five dropped out of the trip, due first to parental intervention (one girl's mother refused to let her go, convinced that all the pedophiles in the country go to WDW
. I don't pretend to understand her logic, but it's not my call to make), and then to medical issues (the other girl was scheduled for major surgery the week we're going, and was fraught with medical issues throughout the planning period). So now it's just me and the Mouseketeers, trying not to let the excitement go to our heads!
Be back later!
