August 2010 anyone?

Booked Villas at Wilderness Lodge for 8/1 to 8/8. This is the first time for our extended family. Mel Bill and Cole (2 Years old) first trip to Disney. Amy & Jake (Son in law and Daughter), Son Brian. It should be a memorable trip and lots of fun. Hope it not killer hot. We are ready for the heat. Better than the winter here in the Northeast.

You'll love the Villas! DD had booked their '09 stay in the Lodge before they joined the DVC. So ... being the wonderful, generous, fantastic daughter she is :lovestruc she asked her super Mom  and her mother-in-law to come join them and use their accumulated points to stay at the Villas!:cool1: I'm a Poly fan but I must say WL and the Villas are my second favorite and we had the best time! We were able to enjoy "the kids" as much as we wanted to but when the DGD's ((ages 6 & 3) "needed a break from us" :rotfl2: we would retreat to the quiet Villas! We'll be arriving in Orlando the 14th for a day at Cocoa Beach and another at Universal Studios (youngest DD and soon-to-be 7 year old DGD MUST check out the new Harry Potter stuff) and will arrive at BLT :woohoo: on Monday for the rest of the week. Can't wait to get there:cool1:! Have fun!:tink:
PS Do yourself a favor ... schedule a massage at the Villas. Sure did enjoy mine last year!:thumbsup2

August 17-22 for 2 DS and I at POP. Getting so close now. Hopping to nab a pin code sometime for FD
:cool1:

August 5-15 at CR Club MK View, our dream vacation.......Hope to see some of you there!!:yay:

August 15th-20th Wilderness Lodge:banana:

We'll be at Bay Lake towers the 16-21! So excited ... especially since one of my dear friends "accepted" my invitation to stay at our house while we're gone and take care of our 5 dogs :worship:! One more thing off my "to do" list :cool1:. We'll be a group of 7 - First born DD with her husband and our 2 adorable 4 & 7 yr. old DGD; youngest DD; DH and the "head of the household" :rotfl: ME. If your family takes the boat over to catch the monorail and you see 5 adults chasing after 2 very excited little girls ... that's US! :rotfl2: :tink:

August 15th-20th Wilderness Lodge:banana:

Our last trip was to the WL and we loved it!

A good tip we found out was that the hot tubs at the WLV was hotter (and less crowded) than the hot tubs by the main pool at WL. At the end of the day, my DW and I enjoyed that relaxing time...and quiet.

Staying Aug 12th thru 22nd ASMu. This is my 4th year in a row. Going with my youngest daughter that is 13!:yay:

August 7-13 and we can't wait!!!!! Our second trip this year - we went last year in August (our first trip) and it was HOT HOT HOT!!!! - we are planning a trip to Blizzard Beach this time. :yay:

We're heading to the World from 20 - 25 August.

This will be our first family trip to WDW and we're basically celebrating DS's 7th bday as well as our return to the USA (we're military, serving overseas currently).

We're not staying on site :guilty: but do have a free family suite off site that is supposedly pretty close to DTD. Hopefully it will be OK.

Right now we're looking at doing 4 parks in 4 days :scared1: but think that we can pull it off. We're pretty used to commando touring all over Europe and the kids are troopers! :thumbsup2

I have 2 breakfasts planned (Crystal Palace and Tusker House) and am in the process of trying to figure out our touring plans for each park. At the least - I want to have a "must do" list with some sort of plan of attack.

We have my mom and step dad coming along too - so I may have to go a bit slower than usual  but that will also force us to stop and revel in the magic of it all too :upsidedow

SO - that is our story!

Questions -

For those of you who have gone in Aug previously - how are the crowds? I hear that after the 14th things slow down quite a bit - - is that true?

And - how hot is it really? Will we melt? What are the places in the park where we can let the kiddos (and adults) get soaked?

Thanks!! And - maybe we'll see you there! :grouphug:

First of all, congrats on planning your 1st trip!:thumbsup2

We have gone with grandparents and it has positives and negatives. We found that it worked best when we met for breakfast and for dinner and then just kept in touch by phone the rest of the day. It enabled us to physically touch base by meeting midday, eventhough we were on different sachedules.

August is hot and humid...but no worse that NYC. Bring ponchos; rain comes quick and disappears just as quickly. There is also plenty of water available for drinking, as well as misting, throughout the day.

You will have a great time!

Loved our DKs' first trip. How old are yours?

DD8 and DD6

I have surprise reservations at BBB for them. I just can't wait

Cousin 34 with MS is also coming with. She has never been before either.

DH and I will be celebrating our 10 yr anniversary too. We stayed at CBR on our honeymoon.
