August 2010 anyone?

Hello everyone,
We are going Aug 1st thru Aug 12th.
We had planned on staying at Beach Club the whole time, but my son who is leaving to go in the Air Force at the end of August can now go with us.

So we had to change resort, we are going to stay 7 nights at Boardwalk Inn Deluxe with Club level, then move to Cabin at Fort Wilderness for the last 4 nights.
First time staying at any deluxe resort for us, plus with club level. We just can't believe it. My daughter and I have stayed at Cabins, we both love them.

Hope to see some of our disers in August!

We will be going August 9th for hopefully 7-8 days. We had origionally planned to go in June but some things changed/ We know it will be hotter then we would like but we'll deal with it. This will be out 6th trip as a family since 2005, we are addicts!! This will also be our first stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, the kids are really excited but not as excited as me I think.

My wonderful hubby and I are planning to celebrate my birthday at WDW from August 8 - 11. Good and bad dates according to this thread. Not many of you will be there, but that could mean smaller crowds?? We are hoping to stay at CBR but we haven't made any reservations just yet. (I know, get my act together and get booked!) I too am a Jersey Girl, only from South Jersey. We have a house "at the shore" and it's always hot and humid in August. I don't really care how hot it will be. Just knowing that I'll be spending my birthday with Mickey makes everything better! ;) :cool1: :woohoo: :dance3:

We will be at SOG Aug 7-14. Maybe we'll see ya there and make plans for us to stay at your beach house (just kidding). Happy planning.

August 23rd-31st at the Poly. We went exactly the same time last year. The heat is brutal, but we go to the parks in the AM, take a pool and hotel break in the afternoon and usually head back around dinnertime. The schools in Fl start back up around then, but we dont start school until after Labor Day. Other than the heat and occasional spontaneous rain, crowd levels were OK. Not so sure about this time though becuase of the Free dining Promo

We are going for our honeymoon August 2-11. We will be at AKL with the DxDDP! Future hubby will golf one day and we are doing KTK Tour. I'm so excited!!!!

My brother and I will be at the Poly August 22nd-30th! Good to hear about the crowd levels, we've been in the beginning of august and i've been in the beginning of september so I know about the heat but was curious about the crowds, thanks

Just switched our last two days at the Nick Hotel for two nights at the Contemporary with a MK view room! I cannot wait now!

Apart from volcanic ash and BA hope to be there first week at POFQ counter service dining . Torn between upgrading to Old Key west and getting table dining for same price. Any thoughts folks.
First time-to USA as well. Got 14 day price. Oh how are UK people buying their Universal tickets- direct at £96 from Universal or through angencies at £86-do you get actual tickets or vouchers?
See you there
David

My boyfriend and I will be at Pop from August 26th-September 7th with free dining. Can't wait!

We have finally booked it, after months of thinking, pondering, planning, researching, computing pin codes discounts and renting points, oh MY! :surfweb:

Wilderness Lodge 1 bedroom Villa August 27-Sep 4!!!!!

The kids (boys ages 4 and 7) don't even know anything yet, we'll wait as long as possible to tell them. We haven't been since our Honeymoon is 1998!

I'm so excited I already am having trouble falling asleep at night with all the info running through my head and there is still almost 3 months to go.

55 days!

(We actually start on the 29th of July, but the majority of the trip is August.)

Seems like yesterday when we were excited to go from 100 to 99 days! Now I just want it to slow down to enjoy the summer and the anticipation.

Only 76 days until we hit the road for 10 days in Disney. But we to are trying not to wish our summer away. The worst part of going at the end of August is we find ourselves wanting to hurry up and get summer over with. We have tried to give the family other little things to look forward to but nothing compares to Disney. How do you slow things down? .

Hi! I'm new here and am hoping to go to WDW next August. I have no idea when to begin planning or what is best to do first, if I am thinking about this too soon, etc. We got our free customized maps and DVD in the mail, so we are excited to start planning!

Anyone else going next August? I notice rates for lodging dropped this year on August 9 - is that similar from year to year?

I have a million questions! Experts - what advice do you have for where I should begin? I am not completely committed to August if June or July is better!

My husband and I, our son (who will be 5) and my parents will be going. I'm known for my couponing and internet savvy shopping with promo codes, etc. We don't want to be "cheap" on our Disney trip, but stretching our dollars is always a plus!

Also, our son has food allergies to nuts and eggs, and I understand that Disney is VERY accomodating with meals.

So... who's in for August, and where do we begin? :cool1: TIA!

HI, we have been going to Disney for 11 years now, and the past four have been in August. It is hot, but it's hot everywhere!! We love it.
Start planning as soon as possible, but know that discount codes will probably not come out until next February. Also, you can then book your dining reservations 180 days out. You are not being cheap; the trip can get very expensive if you are not careful.
Disney is EXCEPTIONAL when it comes to food allergies. My sister travels with us, and she has 7 food allergies, some very obscure. She brings an index card with all of her allergies listed, and meets with the chef prior to ordering. Boma, Kona, Cape May Cafe, Coral Reef....these are just some of the MANY restaurants in which we have eaten, and where the chefs had been incredible. No worries about the food.
Have a wonderful time, If you have any more questions do not hesitate.

Our current 5th wedding anniversary plans are:

Road trip...OH to FL

11th - 13th Vero Beach

13th - 17th DCL

17th - 20th WDW between BLT and AKL Club

The WDW portion is up in the air right now just allocated funds for a Saturn Sky so trying to swing it with the finances.

Going through WDW club level widthdraw...
