Now with the Vaughan Mall off of the 400 there, even MORE reasons to head up towards our way guys!!!
Snow flurries last night and ice around the edge of the pool this morning..
Looks like a great Spring!! :)

Cheers,

My sympathies to the Walsh family.

Congrats to the Ianucci family. She is adorable.

The weather isn't much better here in NE Ohio than it is in Canada.

Funny you should mention the Mall!

I was telling DD on our way home that I just might not mind dropping her and her friends off some Saturday while they hit the park and I'll do some shopping!LOL

Love  that BassMaster Shop!

As for the Weather, of course it's miserable, it's our Easter this weekend! I don't remember the last time we had nice, warm weather for Easter! Saves mucho denaro for a new suit though! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I picked up a shirt for the cruise at the Bass Pro Shop Janet...
It is a really nice golf shirt, with the Canadian Flag. Saving it for the summer :)
Doris likes the Winners/HomeSense there.. Claims it "is the best one I've ever been in" :sad2:
Heading down to Mississauga tomorrow afternoon for a birthday party. MIL wants to hit Toronto for the Easter service. See how the schedule works out.

Cheers,

Best wishes to Lou et al from this side of the Atlantic - hope the little one settles in quickly - in 16 weeks, she will have grown considerably!

FROM THE MOUTHS OF CHILDREN

A couple of little girls were playing on the playground at kindergarten recently. One suggested to the other that they play house. She said I will be the wife and you can be the ex-wife. ***

A four-year-old girl was learning to say the Lord's Prayer. She was reciting it all by herself without help from her mother. She said, "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us some e-mail. AMEN." ***

A three-year-old went with his dad to see a litter of kittens. On returning home, he breathlessly informed his mother there were two boy kittens and two girl kittens. "How did you know," his mother asked? "Daddy picked them up and looked underneath," he replied. "I think it's printed on the bottom." ***

Another three-year old put his shoes on by himself. His mother noticed the left was on the right foot. "Son, your shoes are on the wrong feet." He looked up at her with a raised brow and said, Don't kid me, Mom. I KNOW they're my feet." ***

On the first day of school, the Kindergarten teacher said, "If anyone has to go to the bathroom, hold up two fingers." A little voice from the back of the room asked, "How will that help?" ***

A mother and her young son returned from the grocery store and began putting away the groceries. The boy opened the box of animal crackers and spread them all over the table. "What are you doing," his mother asked? "The box says you can't eat them if the seal is broken," the boy explained. "I'm looking for the seal." ***

A father was reading Bible stories to his young son. He read, "The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city, but his wife looked back and was turned to salt." His son asked, "What happened to the flea?" ***

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5, and Ryan, 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake.

Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, "Let my brother have the first pancake. I can wait."

Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!" ***

A father was at the beach with his children when his four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore, where a sea gull lay dead in the sand.

"Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked.

"He died and went to Heaven," the dad replied.

The boy thought a moment and then said, "Did God throw him back down?" ***

After the church service, a little boy told the pastor, "When I grow up, I'm going to give you some money."

"Well, thank you," the pastor replied, "but why?"

"Because my daddy says you're one of the poorest preachers we've ever had." ***

A wife invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to her six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?"

"I wouldn't know what to say," the girl replied.

Just say what you hear Mommy say," the wife answered.

The daughter bowed her head 'and said, "Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?

Once upon a time, there lived a woman who had a maddening passion for baked beans. She loved them but, unfortunately, they had always had a very embarrassing and somewhat lively reaction to her. Then one day she met a guy and fell in love. When it became apparent that they would marry she thought to herself, "He is such a sweet and gentle man, he would never go for this carrying on. So she made the supreme sacrifice and gave up beans. Some months later her car broke down on the way home from work. Since she lived in the country she called her husband and told him that she would be late because she had to walk home. On her way, she passed a small diner and the odor of the baked beans was more than she could stand. Since she still had miles to walk, she figured that she would walk off any ill effects by the time she reached home. So, she stopped at the diner and before she knew it, she had consumed three large orders of baked beans. All the way home, she put t-putted. And, upon arriving home, she felt reasonably sure she could control it. Her husband seemed excited to see her and exclaimed delightedly, "Darling, I have a surprise for dinner tonight. "He then blindfolded her and led her to her chair at the table. She seated herself and just as he was about to remove the blindfold from his wife, the telephone rang. He made her promise not to touch the blindfold until he returned. He then went to answer the phone. The baked beans she had consumed were still affecting her and the pressure was becoming almost unbearable, so while her husband was out of the room she seized the opportunity, shifted her weight to one leg and let it go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a pulpwood mill. She took her napkin and fanned the air around her vigorously. Then, she shifted to the other cheek and ripped three more, which reminded her of cabbage cooking. Keeping her ears tuned to the conversation in the other room, she went on like this for another ten minutes. When the phone farewells signaled the end of her freedom, she fanned the air a few more times with her napkin, placed it on her lap, and folded her hands upon it, smiling contentedly to herself. She was the picture of innocence when her husband returned, apologizing for taking so long, he asked her if she peeked, and she assured him that she had not. At this point, he removed the blindfold. There were twelve dinner guests that yelled.....happy birthday!!!}}

LOL Mark!!!!

Eyes are doing great...........on Thurs. (day after LASIK) I went back for a check-up and right eye was at 20/20 while the left was 20/30. The left eye was sort of foggy/blurry. Stayed that way until this a.m. when it seems to be a little sharper now. Seeing great today. Did have TONS of trouble opening my eyes for the dr. after the surgery on Wed. when he was trying to get a look at them--he said it meant I have moderately to severely dry eyes--which I never thought I had (but could explain why contacts were starting to annoy me!). Anyway--can't wait to be able to swim, jog, etc. My neighborhood is new and under costruction so I am staying inside the next few weeks to keep my eyes safe! My husband wants to get his eyes done now!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Here's a game for our resident wine expert, whomever she may be!!

This happened to me too, and I have talked to a number of people who have also had the same problem since lasik. I think it is a side effect of the surgery, but none of the doctors I have talked to will confirm this. Maybe they don't know why. I keep a bottle of rewetting drops next to the bed since it seems to be a problem mostly at night for me. The dryness abates over time. I had plugs inserted in the tear ducts that drain the eyes, and that helped a lot. I never had problems with dry, scratchy eyes before the surgery. On the other hand, I couldn't see without glasses before the surgery either :flower:

Yah--in a month from now when I go for my next follow up--he said the plugs may be something to consider. He said we'll see how things go.....said something about temporary ones and then the silicone plugs that he was suggesting. We'll see....like I said--they are less "misty/foggy" today. But who knows how they'll be tomorrow!! All I know is it's nice to get up in the middle of the night and not have to grab for glasses and then in the a.m. I don't have to rush to get contacts in!! Feels like I am seeing 20/20 today in both eyes.

The misty/foggy feeling is because of swelling and it will go away. I have some dryness, some days worse than others, but I just keep drops in my purse and use them as necessary. It hasn't been too bad. My next follow up is end of June.

Hello everyone - I haven't been here for quite some time; and now I come calling with a very strange request... We booked this cruise the first day it was available for myself, DH, DD, and DS. Our two children have since decided that there is no way that they can miss school. DD will be a junior in college and DS a junior in HS. Anyway, is there anyone out there who happened to book on opening day, for 2 adults in a Cat 6 that would be willing to let me know what their cost was. I need an idea what it would be for just DH and myself to go. Our travel agent is out of town and it's really bugging me. You could email me with the information or post here, whatever. Thanking you in advance.

I am so very happy for you. Dry eye is pretty common after surgery seems more common in women and fairly common in women of a certain age. I am thinking about plugs and I haven't had LASIK. Keep the rewetting drops handy, it does get better over time. Let me know if you need some for the cruise, we gets lots of sample.

Taking a quick look at the DCL site, it looks like the savings could be close to $3000. Your DD, and possibly your DS, would have probably been charged as an adult. Our DS is 11 and adding him was close to $1000 more than just 2 adults. A quick call to DCL should give you the exact amount.

Hope that helps..........

Thank you--I made my husband purchase 2 of the Value sized boxes of the Refresh Plus single use drops. They told me I could start using them every hour now (as opposed to every 10 minutes) but I still use them about every 10 minutes!

Been busy today. Now instead of leaving from Orlando Aug 19th DD and I are leaving from Baltimore after work Aug 17th and getting in sometime around 10 or 11PM. Air Tran instead of Song :guilty: Two extra days at HOJO (boy did the price go up!) Still have to think about disneyland tickets (how much of a hassel is it to convert WDW park hopper days to DL park hooper days?) Now I'm thinking about priority seating for fantasmic on the 18th.

How much did the price go up? I'm curious.
