Oh my, I have been so busy I didn't even realize it was time to start stalking the mail carrier! I got on here today and got all excited about cruise docs so I sent DD13 out to the mailbox and they were there! Talk about instant gratification! I started painting my family room/kitchen the other day, then found out I'm throwing a bridal shower for my neice in a week and realized I'd better get painting a whole lot faster! Not to mention a lot of sewing I've had to do and getting stuff ready to send kids off on 4 seperate camps before we leave. I kind of hate being so busy because I'm not getting to enjoy overplanning like I usually do!

we will be sailing on this cruise and we are first timers. we would like to participate in the FE event as well.

DH wanted to know if we were going to have door signs again? [Of course.] Poor soul. He used to be a normal person. Just glad he loves Disney.

He was disappointed that we would not have matching shirts. I can't tell you how many lime green shirts we have from over the years. It didn't seem like that many until one day I looked into the washing machine and it seemed to be the only color in there.

Hello everyone,

Picked up our docs today and I think there is an issue with an excursion. Will have to call tomorrow. We are doing the jet ski on cc and it only list my dw as going.

Ok for all those giving us grief concerning our matching shirts you are to funny. Your darn right we were in matching attire this weekend and we looked good to. We coach a group of 11 and 12 year olds in a u12 division. We just played 7 games in 4 days and played 31 innings yesterday to win our league tournament. The kids were on the field from 8 am warm-ups till the last pitch and championship victory around 8:15pm. To say that watching these kids play yesterday was awesome would be an understatement. I have never been involved with a team that does not quit ever and battles. When you see our team the comments are look how small they are or hey they have a girl on their team..... Yes we are small and yes we have a girl and she will kick your butt! Both teams were exhausted but our kids got stronger as the innings piled up. We were down 6 runs in bottom of 7th with 2 outs and 2 strikes on the batter and he hit a shot to the fence and it was on. Scored 6 then beat them in the bottom of the 9th. You would not believe the emotional roller coaster. At that point I knew the team we had to beat twice was in big trouble. We beat them 8-7 in 8 innings then pounded them in the final. Guess we aren't so small anymore. Awesome day for me 18th wedding anniversary and my DW and I would not have spent it any other way than watching our youngest battle through injury and fatigue and then to see him get his trophy. Awesome!

Sorry not talking dcl but this is a story I must relay. For those that live in a small town you can relate to how special it is and the pride you as a community have when your kids do something great. While our team did something really special yesterday two 18 year old boys really made and impression on me. In the game where we were on the brink of disqualification from the tournament two recently graduated boys from our high school showed up at some point during the game and I did not recognize them as siblings and no one really knew who they were. They had knights hats on and started cheering and rooting the team on saying lets go knights and hit it hard and being somewhat obnoxious at first. It completely woke up our kids and fans and they became the cheering leaders for our awesome comeback win. Come to find out both of these kids had no real connection to our team other than they both played for one of my assistant coaches at some point and were in the park and thought they would stop and watch some baseball. While this is awesome the next part of this story is one that will stick with me and one I need to look into and you will see why in a minute. These kids stayed for the ending and they were jumping up and down as much as the kids and parents were when we won it. They stayed for a bit of the next game and then I did not hear them anymore. In talking with my parents after the game the kids came up in conversation. I said did anyone know those kids? Some said yeah they just graduated from MHS .... but what struck me was a comment by one of my parents. We were talking to them and they really got us going, and we kept on hearing the one boy say I have to go, I am going to be late but I can't leave I have to see how this ends this is an awesome game...... Then the parent telling the story said that kid was leaving for basic training that night and thought he would catch a baseball game before he left. I thought to myself we as a society don't have a lot of positive stuff to say about our young people but here are two probably best friends that have hours left before one goes away to serve his country and they are spending it cheering on a bunch of kids that they don't know at all. How awesome is that! I need to find out who these kids are because for one I want our kids to thank them and two I think it would be special for our kids to write the young man entering the service as he has a tough road ahead of him.

I guess it really hits home with me as I teach so many knuckleheads and so often the kids that do amazing things are overshadowed by the few bad apples. In addition in the last year and a half I have had 2 of my students killed in Afg, one being a very special kid that I got to really know as he took a lot of my classes. Both were United States Marines and they gave the ultimate sacrifice for me and my family.

I hope you didn't think I was kidding you about the matching shirts? I like the idea. On our third cruise, our DIS Meet had matching shirts. I decided not to subject my DH to this thinking he would think it was going a little bit too far. As we stood in line waiting to board, he whispers in my ear, "Why don't we have matching shirts?" From that point on, we had matching shirts. On one cruise we had about 200 people as part of our Dis Group. We had matching shirts and lime green leis. My DS humored me by wearing the shirt. He thought there would only be 20 people doing this. He was so surprised at the terminal to see a seas of matching shirts. It was a lot of fun. Now at 16 and almost 18, they asked if we could just wear our regular clothes to board.

BTW..... Happy Anniversary!!! I know what you mean about being on a field watching your children be part of something on milestone days. Some of my happiest Mother's Day was sitting on a soccer field. It never got old.

I've always loved the matching shirts too, for DIS'ers and for the families that all have the same color/design.

I asked the "kids" (16 and 20) if we should all wear matching shirts, at least for the first day - and they said NO!!!

I tease because YOU GUYS pointed it out (I would have never noticed) and I think its nice. You know I wouldn't tease you if I didn't like you (as a DIS friend)

I love coaches like you.... proud of the kids no matter what! Willing to go the extra mile. Happy to have kids who care. I come from a long line of coaches. My grandfather started the althetic association in my childhood neighborhood. They named a park after him. My Mom was the first champion female softball coach (with female assistant coaches) in the city. I played until I tore cartlige in my left knee (catcher). I've coached before (my now 18 year old - t-ball through fast-pitch softball). It is NOT easy. I think I liked the kids more than the parents of those kids. It got harder as she got older. I had tween girls for years. Ugh. The drama! DD didn't care. She got hurt, rubbed dirt on it and walked back onto the field. Until that one fateful day when she was pitching and a line-drive came right back to her. Right on the cheeckbone. On the bruise you could see the stitching. This was fall ball tournament so her 8th grade picture has the bruise. That was her last season.

DD9 (Mackenzie) likes to play but she's there for social reasons. I am too old for the parenting drama so I just keep the book now, let someone else coach.

I'm glad those boys "showed up". I see too many of DD18's peers acting foolish.
