That is soooo good:thumbsup2

Hope you don't mind but I've put it on the very first post :thumbsup2

Looks like we have a name!

Thanks MrsJobba! I'm glad you like it..and I don't mind at all that it's on the first page. I actually stole your idea and added it to my signature as well. :)

Great job SpinDisc,

When I am bored I usually take a nap or watch the Simpsons. I may just have to have a shirt made with this logo for the get-together on the cruise.

Perfect!!! Love it!

Looks like a winner, SpinDisc! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the :goodvibes everyone!

Here is an alternate version, that would be good for a t-shirt (good idea, ScubaD). If you click on the pic, it'll take you to a higher-resolution version of the image to download.

Later!

And the logo makes a great desktop.:surfweb: Until we get home after the cruise and I have a new picture of disneymom8589. (yes, she is my DW, so y'all just calm down:rotfl2:

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days. Somehow, I could sense that Spin would be the answer to my creativity block! Spin's design has blown me away.

And certainly my kudos to everyone else who helped to bring our name to fruition! I'm in end of the year Hades here with final exams and graduation and everything else. (2.25 HOURS for a HS graduation ceremony! 7 speeches! Ack!) In two more weeks, I'll be officially done. Can't wait! Then I can Really focus on the important MAGIC in my life.

Sorry for all the shouting. It's been a Rough week.:crazy2:

Wow, two more weeks - yikes! I'd be shouting, too :). We've been done since last week, thank goodness.

I've been lurking lately, enjoying reading everyone's posts but haven't had anything interesting to add. I've planned everything that can be planned, so now it's just sit back and wait for Aug. 1. Oh, and my company was nice and gave everyone an extra paid vacation day this summer (since they didn't give anyone raises this year), so I took July 31 off. Which is nice because our flight leaves KC at 5:30am Saturday ... ugh, that means leaving the house around 3:30.

Very nice! I'd like to use it as well. You did a great job!

I'm one of the founding members of the DIS t-shirt design thread, now called the DDA thread on it's 21st chapter, although I don't design much. Speaking of that, I guess we'd better get busy this weekend, as the next few weeks are pretty busy around here, and I have a few magnets and shirts to work on.

Good luck over the next two weeks!

Hi guys

Just checking in.

I have been thinking about luggage today and baggage allowances.

Coming from the UK on virgin airlines Dave and I have 2 cases each allowance. (although Dave would kill me if I actually used it all;))

However we are flying up to NY for 6 nights on continental airlines. I have spent the afternoon trying to understand what thier checked allowance is and what you can carry on.:confused3

Dave has a laptop and I have a carryone bag along with purse (see I'm talking American !)

I then understand that you pay $15 for your first checked bag and $25 for another upto 23kg / 50lb. Technically we can check in 4 bags as long as they dont weigh more than 50ibs each?? right -

If anyone can help me clarify this it would be appreciated. I've never taken a domestic flight in the USA and am kind of nervous about it.

Best wishes

Helen x:grouphug:

ScubaD - Dave

I just noticed your half marathon pic on your signature - do you run?

This is getting spooky - my Dave (jobba) completed the Great North Run last year for the first time and is registered for this years (Sept 20th )

hmmm you are both called Dave , you both do scuba, now you both run :rotfl:

Hi Helen,

You have it correct on the Continental flight: Two checked bags each, and one carry-on each plus one personal item each (such as a purse). Technically you can bring a bag over 50lbs but they charge you a fee if it's overweight. (Not sure what the fee is; I've always managed to keep mine under the weight limit.)

So ... theoretically you two could bring 4 checked bags, two carry-on bags, and two personal bags (purse and/or man-purse, also known as the murse :rotfl:).

You might just need that much for shoes alone ;). A co-worker and I had an in-depth conversation last week about packing shoes, and managed to get my shoe list down to 5 or 6 for the cruise! (Unfortunately this requires me wearing the same pair more than once during the week :sad2:)

OMG you know me too well :lmao:

The last cruise I did in 2007 I took 10 pairs of shoes and bought 3 more pairs in port:rolleyes1

I think its fine to wear the same pair of shoes for more than one night on a cruise.

With me I think comfort and I wont be bringing some of my fav shoes as they wont wear well in the heat:rolleyes1

Holy cow - 13 pairs!

Here's my list, subject to change:
1 pair dressy silver sandals for formal & semi-formal
1 pair low-heeled white leather sandals (newly purchased!) for casual dinner wear & shorts
1 pair water shoes (newly purchased!)
1 pair running shoes
1 pair flip flops

I'm tempted to add a second pair of casual sandals but probably don't truly need them.

Do all of you have passports? I've been on the fence about it for months and tomorrow is my do or die day. We don't have any plans of traveling outside of the country other than cruising. Please convince me that I'm not wasting money.

see this thread -- http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2192438

Whether you choose to have no passport or a passport card, you still take a risk that if something happens in a foreign country you won't be able to fly back...you need a full passport to board a plane.

It is a personal decision and it depends on how risk averse you are. I don't take many risks, there are other cruise expenses I can cut back on, and passports are good for ten years. And the rules can change. I need a passport for work anyway, but I have made the decision to get them for the rest of my family as well.

Also, you never know when you will need a passport in the next ten years. If a trip comes up suddenly, if you have a passport already you can go. I have several examples of people who missed trips because they didn't get their passport in time.

Your decision, but my understanding is that you don't have to have a passport.

We made the decision to get passports for the whole family. There were two reasons - First, I was getting mixed answers from Disney as to if we really needed them or not, so we decided the peace of mind was worth the cost. However, there seems to be more clarification now that you don't need them for this type of cruise.

Second, we want to go to Italy sometime, and now we just need to make that happen in the next 5 years (before the kids' PPs expire)! (Hmmm ... maybe a Disney cruise to the Med?? :thumbsup2 )
