Go to the main board for Disney Cruise Line and you will see a thread for magnets right now very near the top - "Cruise Magnets 4"....scroll down and you will probably find other magnet threads.

There you can find magnets that you can print off on magnetic paper for your cabin door. You may even have time to request custom magnets to be made for your door. Most of the threads have all the details on them, how to make and print magnets, pictures of others' doors, etc.

How did you go on 3 previous Disney Cruises and never see any cabin doors decorated with magnets ???

This is a great attitude...as I get closer to leaving on Monday, I am feeling more and more like this. I planned to book the HOHO bus in Barcelona before leaving but now am thinking we can just see how it goes and what we feel like doing when we get there, maybe the Fat Bike tour, maybe just walking Las Ramblas or maybe we will just see a brochure in our hotel for something we don't already know about. I can get caught up in doing too much research beforehand and sticking strictly to a plan. My family does not like this

Do you just find 'the magnet thread' (look how long it took me to find this one We will definately plan to come and meet everyone - what a great idea - getting closer to my 10 posts - feels like completing a marathon or something but with only a few days left I'm racing through it.
This is our 4th disney cruise and now I know why some people had these wildly decorated doors - we just thought they were people who had too much time on their hands

Not long to go now!

Shawn and Erin (if you are still reading), I emailed the transport company to confirm and they sent me back saying 'Never mind your booking is ready'. I think they meant 'don't worry'!!!!

Fizzeio, welcome, what a shame you have joined late, but do look at Pixie08's website, it will give you lots of info.

The Magnets are just a bit of fun and they are basically just pictures, you print out on Magnetic paper and put on the door of your cabin. There have been a couple with this cruise dates done, have a look through this thread and also on Mary site.

If you look at the TJ Baggots thread of magnets, there is a link to his photobucket pages, which have loads and loads of names done in creative ways, I found some of ours and just printed them out to put on the door.

Personally, we don't 'do' ships tours - we have a five year old and find it much easier just to grab a cab and do our own thing, usually works out the same price as doing ships trips, or less and we see more and are flexible.

Most people will have booked their trips now, but very often you can hook up with someone at a port. We have done that a number of times of various cruises now, shared a cab to go somewhere and split the cost.

Hopefully we will see you at the cruise meet. I don't think any of us have met before, so it should be a bit strange seeing each other for the first time, although we do know a fair bit now about our lifes and families. I joined the boards late, as we only booked in June, but everyone has been really friendly.

Hope you have a safe trip over from Canada. I am in the process of packing and sorting out, but will be on the boards on and off until Monday.

Mindy, I am so glad your son was OK, a big step for you both and great he still gives you hugs!

Here's the link to one of the people that do magnets. You need to look through them, see one that you like and send a request. It's so late in the game they may not be able to accomodate you, but they turned mine around in a couple of hours. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2440038

I think Erin (who did the journals) may have left already. She closed off people requesting them about a week ago because she needed time to print and coallate. I don't know that she made extras.

I agree with Shawn, most have set up their private tours a long time ago However, I'm only going on 2 private tours, am doing Disney tours in most other ports.

Unfortunately our FE exchange is closed too...too many people have left and couldn't adequately prepare for extra people. Sorry

Welcome fizzeo!!! You're just in time for a great cruise! Glad to see other Canadians on the boards, we are from Ottawa. We have our tours organized at this point, some DLC tours and some ports on our own. We even have our luggage packed!!! Be sure to come to our DIS meet!

Welcome!!! First let me say how cool I think your daughter's charitable lemonade stand is. We are not that far from you and see it every year. Our tour in Pompeii is currently at 5. We are sharing with 3girlycruisers. I don't think I can check and see if there is space now but if our friends agree at the meet I will happily do so on board. It is a full day tour - Pompeii hurculaneum and a climb of the mountain. Looking forward to meeting you. When do you fly out?

Unbelievably I am not very internet savvy and just found this kind of site while trying desperately to get a handle on the ports we are going to and how best to plan for them without having to book all tours from the ship. Do families from these sites, plan to meet and book things together for the ports? We are from Toronto Canada and my husband and I are travelling with our 13 year old and 4 year old. This will be our 4th Disney cruise (we've cruised on many other lines as well but love Disney) We were in Disney World in February for the launch of Disney Give a Day Get a Disney Day which was incredible(my daughter fundraises for the Heart and Stroke Foundation - you can check out her site by googling the words Amanda Lemonade or just look for lemonade4heart.org) and now Mickey is coming with us to Europe but somehow I am very ill prepared for this trip and would love tips on planning and how best to manage this cruise. We would love to meet other families and although I found this site quite late - seems like people have posted for a couple of years, I hope we are not too late to 'join the party'. I hope someone can get back to me to further explain how this all works - these little smilies to the right are sooo cute (told you I was new)

Wonderful job your daughter is doing. I read all the articles about it. Amazing...I wish my kids would get involved and do something like that...I"ll have to have them talk to her on the cruise. At our temple, kids need to do a mitzvah project along with their bat mitzvah,I guess Amanda has her's already. Also, you must be exhausted, you seemed to be posting here all night.

I do not have any extras printed - they are quite thick and I am having to take them as my carryon because I am sticking to 1 checked bag.


Everyone,
I realized yesterday that I never printed out the last sea day and well - I am NOT going back to work to print those out... so I have extra NOTES pages.... Rough last week - fired 1 person, final warning on another and top of the cake was receiving 2 weeks notice from an exceptional employee moving out of the area! Yesterday was a bit of a punch in the stomach.

Off today to do all of those LAST minute things that I have put off!

Don't worry about it, they're fine as is. Do you have your own business? or are you management for a corporation>? As much as getting fired hurts, I know having to do it is pretty bad too....sorry to hear about your stressful week, but just think....you'll have 10 days of peace and relaxation.

Weather is breezy, and nice mid 70's. It rained this morning, but is nice now. We're just hanging around the hotel (beach & pool). As far as having any tips to empart, not yet. But if you need me to do some "recon" for you just let me know...

Have fun!!! Thanks for the update. We will be there Tuesday.

Got the rental phone programmed this morning. Next, mow the lawn and finish packing, then time for mani/pedi. Also need to go back to Kohls for a new swimsuit for my son. He left it in the locker room at summer camp.

May also need to buy more gum for my daughter. She got her braces off on Thursday, perfect timing for the trip. She has been eating bagels, popcorn and skittles. The good / bad thing is that her retainer did not fit. Now we don't have to worry about leaving it in Italy.

Hoping Sunday will be a day of relaxing.

We would like to as well- two adults, one infant (no stroller for the pompeii though!). The plan right now is the SITA bus and then finding a tour guide there, but if someone has something, please let us know.

we are going on two "free" tours with runnerbean in Barcelona. With the infant, I figured it would be easier to do that there I am very into just winging it. I have no idea how long she'll last and Rome seems to be a LONG day for us!!!
