August 18, 2010...Can't wait for the MAGICal Mediterranean!!!

Drive to Ca almost over. Total time about 16 hours. DD very good, considering. Cats, however, a huge pain in the a**! kitty drugs didn't work so well on one of the cats and she ended up whomping on the other cat. We ended up letting them out, which worked surprisingly well. Cranky cat took up real-estate on top of cat carrier, in between wandering around and shedding. We came armed with a lint roller......

I'm putting my dog and cat in a kennel while we're away. The kennel is about 20 minutes away from my house and the poor cat whines and cries the entire way. Sounds like I'm killing her!! I feel very bad, but we'll be gone for 2 weeks and I can't leave her at home for that long. :sad2:

So now I know that my last day of work for 3 weeks is going to be the longest ever and my DH is not helping. I was away from my desk and he left the Magic's horn sound on my voicemail....:lmao::lmao:

We'll have 1 suitcase each...I bought us the bigger ones, which will probably be packed close to 50 lbs. We pack tonight or tomorrow. I purchased a scale to make sure we don't go over 50 lbs. I'll probably have one carry on. I'll update everyone tomorrow once packed. WOOO HOOO!!!!
:dance3::dance3::dance3:

After you pack, I want everyone to post how many suitcases you have, for how many people. The reason I ask, is because on my last DCL cruise for the 4 of us, I had 4 suitcases and we each had a carryon and my DH carries a cpap machine and his computer. When the car came and picked us up, I heard the driver snicker to someone "you'd think they were leaving for a year." I just want to see how overpacked I am.

I plan on having one suitcase for each of us and then one extra for shoes and other stuff and then carryons. I'll have foldable suitcases with me too for extra stuff I may have on the way home.

3 full-sized suitcases that are not stuffed at all.....I had to restrain DH from trying to combine them into 2 cases reminding him about all the stuff we're bringing home.....
Also, 3 carry on's....2 cases and my camera bag.

Oh my - 16 hours in the car with CATS :scared1::scared1::scared1:

You deserve a medal ... or a cruise ;)

The rest of your travel should be a breeze after that!! :goodvibes

Our seem to have adjusted well today. They aren't ignoring us and are looking around for stuff to get into. They are and drank, so all seems well.

Excellent about your cats! They can be such finicky creatures!

How do you all have room in the stateroom for all these suitcases? We only managed last year because mine would fit under the double bed. I got a new one recently that takes up aaa-looot of room. Ahh well, I won't have time to care where my suitcase is: I'll be on the Disney Cruise baby! :rotfl:

My guinea-pig is going on 'holiday' to my nans. I'm sure she'll get lots of attention there, she love animals :goodvibes

I don't have a problem because I'm in a suite, but I know the room steward will store the cases for you.

One suitcase each, not over 20kgs!! One Carry on for me, one little trolley bag (full of stickerbooks etc.), for dd. Sometime OH has a carryon, but probably not this time.

Have a safe journey everyone.

Spent all day at poor mans Disney (Gullivers World), it is a poor example of a theme park, but the kids love it. Went on my first rollercoaster today. I hate them, but my friend was going on with her daughter and dd really wanted to go, she was happy to sit behind on her own, but I couldn't let her do that, so my instinct as a Mother, took over my fear of the Coaster!!!! It wasn't so much up and down, but along and as if you were going to go off the edge and a turn around a sharp corner, I can't say I enjoyed it, but I did it!

So I did nothing towards packing etc., to day, and therefore, I am still in a muddle here - just printed out the last of the magnets, about to do more ironing and then the 'big clean' before we go. I always feel better if that is done!

Will pack on Sunday.

Ran WK8D2 this morning, it seemed easy to be honest. I hadn't run for a few days, due to being ill, but thought I would try it. My final run and end of the Programme, will be aboard the Magic on our first sea day!

Ok I am going to get sorted!!!!
:surfweb:
No more Dis boards tonight!!!!

Ok...I'm done....supposed to be here until 4:30 today (work that is) but I've had it and I want to see my DS, so I'm done with work for 3 weeks.

Just spent 2 hours organizing for packing. Can't say I got much done, but it's a start!!!!! I'm exhausted!!!!!

We also spent 2 hours organizing and laying things out tonight. Did not get much cooperation from Hubby & Son :headache: I don't know how they think this is all going to get done - I refuse to pick out their clothes and pack for them:mad:

We also have a slight problem with son's dining room attire. Found out today he can not fit into any of his khaki pants. He's at a fast growing age (13) so what fits today may not fit in 2 weeks. Frustruating and expensive! If we were still in the US, I could solve this with a 30 minute trip to the Mall or even Target, Kohl's, etc. Here in Stuttgart, I can't find a pair of kid's or men's that fit him and look "normal". (sorry but some European clothes just look different to us, no offense) Hubby is going to take him out again tomorrow but if they can't find anything he will just have to go in dress shorts. I know this will pi** off some diners but I don't have alot of options at this point. If we can rush him in and out of there, he will look fine seated with legs under the table and just a collared polo showing on top:thumbsup2

I did W7D1 today and it looks like my program is just steady runs here til the end...25 mins this week, 28 next week and 30 for week 9. I miss the intervals, I find it difficult to do these long runs. My feet hurt all day after I do them.

The most fantastic news today is that while we were in the US spending $ as fast as we could print it, hubby was back here in Germany saving like crazy and he saved enough to pay off our whole cruise:banana::banana::banana:
I am SOOOOOOO proud of him:hug:

Safe travels to everyone and I will still be popping in until Sunday night
