We'll be right there with you on Serenity Bay, have never had the opportunity to go there until now. Save us a lounge chair LOL

You'll love it! It's sooooo peaceful .

We have had a couple of frights when snorkelling at sb dh saw a nurse shark! :scared1:I've never seen him move so fast! Lol in 2009 I was happily swimming when dh signalled to look below I nearly died as there were two string rays underneath me:scared1:

Disney has a no seat saving rule!! LOL!! (really kidding, not looking to start that!!):rotfl2::rotfl2:

I really want to go to Serenity Bay but not sure what to do with the kids?? They love the water, and they can all swim, but the right/wrong side of my brain is saying that I can not leave them un supervised by the water:littleangel:...the selfish, me, me, me side is saying they'll be fine!!:lmao:

I know they have a kids club on the Island, but my 12 yo is too old, and the other 2 have never been and probably wouldn't want to.

Jen-- We checked in at the airport last cruise (flew in day-of and took Disney transfers) and it was so easy! You did the whole check-in and luggage drop there, and we just walked right on the ship (because it was after noon by then).
I almost considered avoiding the whole terminal-check-in-craziness and just returning the car to MCO... but the cost of transfers is too high for 6 ppl, so we'll have to brave the terminal! :scared1:

I am also working on laundry today. *sigh* Somehow it always gets put off until Sunday. :confused3

We are planning on doing the CC 5K... not sure which day yet. If we start the Couch-to-5K plan now, we should be ready to run/jog the whole thing by then! (This is supposed to be the first step in training for the Princess Half next winter--Registration opens July 5!) We have had some sun, so no more excuses for not starting--today should be the day! :yay:

Boo hoo -- Steve and I are sitting at MCO waiting for our flight home. Though we missed the twins, we had a dreamy time on the Dream. It is an incredible ship! I'll report back with more details tomorrow. Just know that the ship gets a huge thumbs up from me!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Beth

Beth - Can't wait to hear all about it. I am interested in how crowded you felt the ship was...especially the pools. I would also love to hear about your experience in the restaurants.

This is actually why I do not like SB! The water there is far to scary for me! :scared1: DH and I did go on our first cruise and a barracuda made me get out of the water FAST! I will probably stick to floating in the family beach area.

Thanks for the information about the transfers. I am also feeling that the cost for 4 people is high and I should just deal with the craziness of renting a car. I am simply considering it because I have enough stress in my life and could use a simple process and I want to get on the ship ASAP.

Good luck with your Couch-to-5K. That is the program that DH and I did to get running and it was super. We have now run 3 1/2 marathons (4th one in 2 weeks) and several other races. This year we are also going to attempt a full marathon. Did the Princess Half this year and registered for the Tink Half in DL next year! Have fun with it!

Well we are PIF.

I'll have to see what kind of Palo ressies are available at 12:01am on the 2nd!

 Good for you! Wishing you luck with Palo ressies!

LMAO on the seat saving post.
I'm pretty sure they have a club thing going on for all ages on CC, I know my DD is a teenager and last cruise she was with the teen club doing some sort of excursion on CC.

Do they not have the waters at SB protected like the family beach or is what you are talking about only for snorkeling?

Happy Sunday Everyone..

Beth can't wait to hear all about the cruise!!

Hope Everyone is having a nice weekend!!:):thumbsup2

Who has stayed at the Hyatt hotel in the airport? Is it worth the price?

:goodvibes

We were originally going to stay near the port the night before our cruise last time. I changed it to the Hyatt last minute. It was the best decision I made. Our flight was delayed 3+ hours, so we didn't get into Orlando until almost midnight. It was so great not to worry about getting to the port. Tge next morning, we sent our luggage through the Hyatt/DCL. I had gotten mixed answers on whether or not you could do that w/out using DCL transfers (we had a car service), so I'm not sure if you can still do it.

We've stayed there 2x in the past - - both were actually on the days prior to leaving MCO. On those trips we had early flights and wanted to be as close to the airport as possible - can't get any closer than in the airport! It is pricey though and we really didn't get to experience any of the hotel amenities except for the club level breakfast. I think for both stays we had some Hyatt gift certificates as well which helped with the price.

The benefit of being there the morning of the flight was that the bell staff took our luggage all the way to airline check-in desk us - which was great. One time one of our bags was over the weight limit and the bellman really worked the agent to "give us a break"!! She wouldn't budge though and then he asks permission to open our bags to help is redistribute the weight. Above and beyond really!

Hope you enjoyed your laundry day!! :rotfl:

Well, I made it through the Warrior Dash. We had a great time, but it was a difficult race. The wall that I was so scared of turned out to only be 4 feet tall, I just threw my one leg over the top and heaved myself over. The best thing was jumping over the flame it looked scary but was not too bad.
Here's an after picture of us....

As I'm sure you can tell it's laundry day for me too now! :)

Jen, we're staying at the airport and we got a great government rate (half off) since you work for the school maybe you can check and see if they will give you the government rate.

Just catching up while watching Tom Bergeron on the Dream on AFV...

More rain in the forecast for this week, UGH!

sdchickie-congratulations on finishing the race!

Love that picture!!!

Jen, dd and I were at the Ordway last night, and I checked Facebook on my phone at intermission, and everyone in my area was posting about Tornado warnings!! Not what you want to see when you are out. But my car was safely in an underground ramp LOL. All we had was rain. Then in the middle of the night we had another couple hours of nasty hard rain, small hail and wind. Then today, yep, more heavy rain! The pond in our yard is up at least 2-3 feet from last year, and it goes up higher at least once a day, after these heavy heavy rains. All the docs on the pond are pretty much at the water level. One more rain and they will be under water. Enough already!

Oh my gosh how scarey Erika!! Glad that you are ok....How was the show at least??!!

It was so good to talk with you tonight! :goodvibes Funny that we didn't even talk about our weekends...:rotfl:

I am going to send you an e-mail in a few minutes.

I have actually found a decent price for the hotel and I am glad to hear you thought it was a good choice. My thought is that we are getting there so late that night and it would be great to just get in our room. Did it take long to get your luggage off the plane and to your room?

Hey Harry...laundry day was a blast! :rotfl2:

I am really leaning towards the Hyatt with all the positive posts about the experience. I am just not happy with the price of the transfers but my deal with that for the fact it will relieve some stress.

LOVE your photo! :thumbsup2 It reminds me of the Mud Run that I did last year. I thought about doing the Warrior Dash this year but signed up for the Mud Run again. Your photo makes me want to do both!

I may have to check into a government rate for the Hyatt. I will say that I did not think the AAA rate was too bad.

WOW! I am so sick of the rain and it is raining horribly again as I type. I am wondering when it will all end. Things here are really water-logged and there is a lot of standing water everywhere. DH and I actually did get out between down-pours today for a quick 3 mile run. Let's hope that MN gets to see the sun soon!

Hi Jen

We've stayed at the Hyatt MCO 3X and it's very easy. We always take a late flight and you can get right off the plane and walk up to the hotel. The bellman will take your luggage tickets and get your bags from the plane for you. It's so nice. I use Happy Limo for transport to the port but, they do offer Magical Express with the Hyatt as well. I booked through LMT, which is last minute travel for $128.76 with tax. Someone posted it on the Dis and I followed the instructions, seems like a pretty good price.

LOVE to read that they get our bags for us and that we just go right to the hotel. This sounds better and better! :thumbsup2 You have a good rate from LMT. With AAA, the rate is $179 and includes breakfast. I would love to get the government rate but don't know if they give that to teachers.
