VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR OUR CABIN TOURS

Hi Everyone

A number of people have concerns and questions about our cabin tour.
Hopefully if every thing goes as planned it should work out.
I was on the Dream in April for the 4 day special double dip in Castaway Cay.
I did get a chance to do a cabin tour and managed to save the 1st day Navigator which I'm using as a reference.
The initial plan is to meet at 2-2.30pm on the ship on deck 13 forward in the family zone. This could be part of a general Dis group meet and greet if anyone is thinking of organizing one.
At 2.30p sharp we head off to tour the cabins which hopefully should be done in about an hour.
The selection of cabins will be narrowed down to those that are somewhat signficantly different from each other, so that we are not seeing duplicates.

Those who are showing, would be the Disers who volunteered their cabins to viewed.

Those who are touring will be the tourists travelling to view the volunteered cabins.

Those who want to do both will come along on the tour to see the other cabins and when we reach their cabin hopefully they will open the door so we can see theirs also.

The sailaway party takes place at 4.30pm. You still have time to enjoy yourself.

Good point. The lifeboat drill takes place at 4pm.
The sailaway party takes place at 4.30pm.
Hopefully as long as we don't linger too long during our tour we should be done to give everyone enough time to meet back at their cabins to pick up the rest of their family for 4pm.

I believe they start boarding the ship around 12pm??
As long as we all get to port by 10am, we should be able to be on board before 1p. There was a DCL Ship tour that met at the Port Adventures Desk at 1pm. There is also a Spa tour at this time.
When I got on the Dream in April we got on really late. So we dropped off my DM in Cabanas the buffet restaurant, went on a tour, then picked her up an hour later. Since we had missed the scheduled Spa tour when we went there at 5pm after the sailaway party, it was quiet and they gladly gave us our own little private tour of the Spa, salon and fitness center.
There's alot of activities that overlap for you to to have a choice. Some do get repeated on another day.

If anyone has any other questions or concerns or ideas to help this tour work please let me know.

Brenda

The cabin tour sounds great. I would like to participate in the cabing tour. Does your Navigator say when or if the DVC presentation was on the first day?

:yay::yay::yay: We might bump into each other !
This just occurred to me ... we will be at AKL pre cruise too !!!

and we plan to come to Sanaa for dinner one day !!

Are you coming to Boma some day ?

:hug::hug: laura

We just might run into each other. This time we will be in a 2-bedroom in Kidani. We have dinner reservations for 'Ohana's on Saturday. We have reservations at Boma for breakfast on Monday before the cruise. The rest of the meals we will play by ear.

I am just starting to do my Dream research to prepare for the cruise and I came across this change that Disney has made from the way they used to do Pirate night on the Magic/Wonder. Apparently it now starts earlier, at 8pm so younger ones can enjoy more of the night. You can read about it here (spoiler alert if anyone wants to be surprised with the Pirate night festivities):

Sorry if this is "old news", but I have been out of the loop for a while and am trying to catch up on all the Disney Dream info.

Kristin so sorry to read this. Hopefully you feel better soon.:grouphug:

Has anybody ever rented points from someone on the Dis? I'm thinking about renting at AKL but I've never delt with points before and am a little nervous about how the whole process works.

We have rented points, but not from the DIS. I don't know if that helps.

I've read good things and bad things about it - mostly good though. I guess with any agreement - the documentation is important.

We always seem to find a way to use our points each year, but we did think about renting our points once or twice.

The four of us from Minnesota; dad (that's me), mom (that's my darling bride), daughter 1 (age 12) and daughter 2 (age 8) will be joining you on the 8/16 douible-dip sailing.

This will be our second Disney cruise (Wonder, 8/09) and we can't wait.

I see there are at least two others from Minnesota on our cruise. We're from Mankato, about 90 minutes south of the Twin Cities. Where are you other Minnesotans from?

Kevin

Welcome! My family is from Otsego, a suburb north of the cities. I have driven through Mankato a million times, my grandma lives in Windom.

Kristin I think your ankle trumps my broken toe! Heal quickly!

I have rented out my points to someone on the DIS once, to pay for my last cruise. It was a very smooth transaction.
