QUESTION OF THE WEEK #1

I thought it would be fun to do a "Question of the Week" to help us pass the time until our cruise. I will post the questions and compile all the answers on our web site - I have already posted our first question and my answer there! :goodvibes So, here is our first one...

Since we are ONE YEAR from our cruise date...are you doing anything to celebrate?

Can't wait to hear all the answers!

We are celebrating today! One year woo-hoo  I like the idea of mickey pizzas for dinner, we're so doing that. I'm printing decorations right now so I can decorate the house before the kids wake up and surprise them. We're having mickey pancakes for breakfast (with our pirate themed disney placemats) and we'll be wearing our pirate mickey ears today while we watch the pirates movies complete with popcorn. For desert I have a mickey shaped cake that my SIL made me for my B-day yesterday. She made the mickey cake as the centerpiece for a whole bunch of cupcakes so when we were just eating the cupcakes I thought hey I should save the mickey cake for tomorrow! Got to go put up some disney in my house! Have a great 1 year till cruise day everyone!!!!

One year to go!! :banana::banana::banana:

Can't believe that this particular thread started all the way back in the fall of 2009!!??

Ohhh...I will have a nine year old girl when we sail also! I am so glad to hear that there will be others!

Cool, my girls will be happy to have someone else to hang out with too!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I love the shirt too! I got it in the mail from this great family who loves Disney as much as me! :rotfl2:

Seriously...I love to wear the shirt and think of you guys every time I put it on! THANK YOU! It was perfect for today because we all agreed we had to wear Disney clothing.

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:confused3:confused3

I wonder what Great family that was??LOL!!!

HAPPY ONE YEAR TO OUR CRUISE EVERYONE!!

We have decided to make it a Disney Week in our house!!:cool1::goodvibes

Soo cute...I have to download the pictures from my camera from our party. Tonight, we are going to make chocolate Lava cake for dessert!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Mmmmm Chocolate lava cake. That sounds so good! We just made Mickey shaped pizzas for dinner. I know it's early, but Amber has cheerleading tonight so we won't be home at the real dinner time. Can't wait to see more picts.

I packed and waved off my hubby and son to Boy Scout camp for a week :sad2: But I can't feel too bad, we just returned from a week in "The World" where we had a great time. Tried Indoor skydiving which is a blast. Also tested these devices for Disney in Epcot similar to an ITouch with interactive maps with wait times and fastpasses, along with extra bonuses like name your own price for ice cream (we paid $.01) :thumbsup2.

So, 365 days and counting down :cool1::cool1:

Where did you try indoor skydiving? That sounds fun! I'm also intrigued about the devices you tested out. Tell me more, please....like ice cream for .01? YUMMY!!!!

Know where some of us were last year this time?????

We aren't really doing any celebrating, since DS is out of town. We are definitely taking about the cruise and doing some planning. I hope we can go to the parks a few days before or maybe Vero....who knows!

Love the disney decorations to celebrate the 1 year to go mark. Seems like its been forever since we booked this... I need a cruise soon. We took our big vacation in April and I am missing my big summer trip.

Aww, I love this picture....I just showed the girls the picture of CC and they were like AWWWWW, that is where we were one year ago today..........

We would love to have you join us @ Vero Beach....Let the party begin at VB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonight, is pasta on our Mickey Mouse plates, and Chocolate Lava cake for dessert........Everyday, this week the girls want a DCL dessert......LOL!!!!!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Mickey shaped pasta here for dinner + chocolate lava cake!! That's all we really had time for considering we had multiple soccer practices tonight!

We put on our last cruise video and replayed the sail away party - complete with a loud, boisterous countdown!!! The sound of the DCL ship horn was the highlight of our evening!! Well, the cake was the highlight for me actually.... :rotfl:

Hi all! We spent the day in NYC yesterday. In the past it was an opportunity for us to visit the WOD store and replenish our supply of Mickey pasta (see prior post <LOL>), but that store has long since closed. For those interested in the new Disney store in Times Square... we were able to peek through the plywood in the front and well.... we really couldn't see anything good :lmao: But supposedly they are interviewing for jobs and are due to open this fall.
The new store will include an interactive princess castle and a children’s theater for screening animation and holding storytelling events for children. No word on whether they'll have the pasta or not?!? :)

We have a "bucket list" of sorts each summer - things we want to do and accomplish. We rarely get through it, but we are making good progress! NYC was on there and we decided since the temps and humidity were going to be reasonable this weekend to go for it. Should have went Saturday, because we did get a bit of rain yesterday, but it only lasted a short time.

We hadn't been to Ground Zero and decided to check that area out. The 9-11 Memorial Preview site has some pretty good stuff in it - still brings chills to me. Construction seems to be moving along nicely there, too. Another chilling part is the church across the street - which survived after the towers crumbled down next to it.... there's some of those postings that people had placed around looking for their loved ones, etc. Very emotional crowd in there - still to this day.

We dropped too much money at American Girl and Nintendo World... hit the NHL store, and paid a visit to Tiffany's. Had some entertainment on the subway as usual and had excellent NYC pizza for dinner :)

The short trip on the water taxi also reminded Vicki to look for her sea bands for next August 16th!!! In all fairness it was a bit wicked out on the Hudson yesterday!!

The next "urban legend" for our household also occurred!! We have lots of stories that evolve over the years - especially when told by me. Ask me next year how much the M&Ms cost me at the M&M store in Times Square!! :rotfl:

@Terri! Awesome pictures!! We decided to go for quasi-seafood at Red Lobster because they have "sail-away smoothies" didn't think to take a picture!!

Hi Betty! If it feels like I'm following you around, it's true. I'm stalking you. lol :)

I am thrilled that we are now less than one year away from this cruise!! I wish I had thought to do a "Disney Day" of some kind...

Received my PassPorter Disney Cruise Line Guide yesterday in the mail!

I'm thinking it was quite fitting to received it exactly one year to the day of sailing! :cool1:

I've been reading furiously about all the ins and outs of DCL. Need to start taking notes soon of things I can't forget!

...ETA.... My TA was also able to get us FREE DINING for our post-cruise stay at WL!:yay:

GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,
BOYS AND GIRLS!
WE SET SAIL IN EXACTLY 52 WEEKS! THAT IS 364 DAYS!

WE ARE AT THE ONE YEAR MARK!

We are doing the exact same thing! We are so excited! Normally I would like to do Disney before we sail, but the free dining was too good to pass up. Harry Potter World for us, I guess. :)
