Hi all! We spent the day in NYC yesterday. In the past it was an opportunity for us to visit the WOD store and replenish our supply of Mickey pasta (see prior post <LOL>), but that store has long since closed. For those interested in the new
Disney store in Times Square... we were able to peek through the plywood in the front and well.... we really couldn't see anything good

But supposedly they are interviewing for jobs and are due to open this fall.
The new store will include an interactive princess castle and a childrens theater for screening animation and holding storytelling events for children. No word on whether they'll have the pasta or not?!?
We have a "bucket list" of sorts each summer - things we want to do and accomplish. We rarely get through it, but we are making good progress! NYC was on there and we decided since the temps and humidity were going to be reasonable this weekend to go for it. Should have went Saturday, because we did get a bit of rain yesterday, but it only lasted a short time.
We hadn't been to Ground Zero and decided to check that area out. The 9-11 Memorial Preview site has some pretty good stuff in it - still brings chills to me. Construction seems to be moving along nicely there, too. Another chilling part is the church across the street - which survived after the towers crumbled down next to it.... there's some of those postings that people had placed around looking for their loved ones, etc. Very emotional crowd in there - still to this day.
We dropped too much money at American Girl and Nintendo World... hit the NHL store, and paid a visit to Tiffany's. Had some entertainment on the subway as usual and had excellent NYC pizza for dinner
The short trip on the water taxi also reminded Vicki to look for her sea bands for next August 16th!!!

In all fairness it was a bit wicked out on the Hudson yesterday!!
The next "urban legend" for our household also occurred!! We have lots of stories that evolve over the years - especially when told by me. Ask me next year how much the M&Ms cost me at the M&M store in Times Square!!
