August 13, 2005

I was planning to go to deck 10 for the sailaway. I think its best. On our first Disney cruise we were down in the crowd and couldnt really see much. I had planned to go to deck 10 on our second cruise, but because of lightning the sailaway party was inside in the atrium. We went on a cruise last year, not Disney, and it was a similar set up. We went up above and found it less crowded and more fun. So, I'm trying for deck 10 again this time. ;) Good point that it would work well for Pirate night too.

I cant believe how close it is now. This morning I tracked our flight(2 weeks early) and showed the kids where the plane goes. We refreshed it every once in a while for them to see how the plane moved across the country. They were so amazed by this,LOL!

Is there a roster somewhere with all the DIS'ers and their room numbers???

Is there a schedule with all the meets?

I'm happy to come thru this long thread and create one, but didn't want to go to all the trouble if someone else already did it.

Also, is anybody else bringing pins for trading? Can't decide if it's worth lugging them.

Thanks!

Susy

Susy...no list of room #s...yet?

i think we only have one "official" dis meet, which is at 3 at promenade lounge on embarkation day. there's an "unofficial" one at 1 by the mickey pool on the same day also. i think people were just getting their lunch & lounging by the pool to swim...thus the "unofficial" one sorta formed.

pins for trading...have not done that. our DSs collect pins. (they pick them, or i buy them, and pins it on their respective larnyard thing) they haven't gotten to the point of "trading" yet! that's a whole new ball game!

yes, it is getting close! 2 1/2 more weeks!

Thats what my kids do. I dont know if I want to get into the whole trading thing either, LOL! With our Disneyland Package we each get a free lanyard and pin so the kids are all excited about that.

When we see pins on sale or at the outlet I usually buy a bunch and then DS can trade them for ones he really wants.

Here's my docs dance :dancer: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :dancer:

Now I can "officially" sort out the stuff I have been putting into my luggages since Jan2005......... :bounce: and they said we can only have 2 luggages per person :sad2:

Hello everyone. Just as an FYI I went to AAA to get a map of Mexico. I thought it would be fun to map out where we are along the way on the the cruise. You could highlight each day where you are traveling and put the map up inside your room.

I think we are going to start taking out the suit cases this weekend and start packing. There is so much to do and only 17 days left.

I am going over the kids activities with Matthew and Carolyn. They sound really excited. On one night my daughter is going to be dressed up as Snow White and my son as Buzz Lightyear ( if his costume still fits).

Free Ariel Stickers from Disney Cruise line. Can you believe something for free. Yes it is free. Just go online and order a 2005-2006 Disney Cruise line planning guide and there are three sets of Ariel stickers inside.

If you order it now you just might get it before the trip. Figure two weeks for delivery. And if not you get it when you get back home.

Anyone else know of any free stuff let me know.

Its been so long since my last post. I've been trying to pace myself with this cruise because my excitement was steadily spiraling out of control.

Brenda - You are in my prayers. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I'm glad that Disney could help keep your spirits up.

JayCee32 - Great idea with the glow sticks. Can't wait to see all the DIS'ers on pirate night. pirate:
Any adults dressing up?

All - How are we going to ID each other the first day (before our meet at the Lounge)? Esp. at the Mickey Pool. :thewave:

My TA called today and my docs are finally in the mail. :cheer2: Am I the last one?

I'm so excited...I'm just about packed :rotfl:

Can't wait! :thewave:Can't wait!

We leave 2 weeks from today for DL!

DS has a Pirates of the Caribbean T-shirt that he is going to wear on Pirate Night. DH has a surprise shirt (I don't want to spoil it).

I'm almost packed - just a few last minute items that have to be washed like bathing suits, etc.

Courtney - we will be wearing DIS t-shirts on embarkation day so look for us. Our bus from GC is supposed to leave at 12:10 so I guess we won't get to the terminal until around 12:30-12:40.

hello everyone! hope this finds you all well. congrats to those of you who got their docs!

i am scratching the mini-album idea. can't seem to find them.

Arlene, please tell the mouse that we're not on the dolphin excursion. he must've gotten us mixed up w/someone else...

someone mentioned if anyone was dressing up for pirate night? our DSs are...sorta. we got them an eye patch, hat, & earring. really cute. they were practicing their "aarrgghhh", and "hi matey". (any other phrases i should have them practice??!! they're just wearing a white t-shirt. and the bandana provided. i have 2 extra eye patches, if anyone is interested. (they came in a 4-pack, and we only need 2) let me know!

really can't wait to meet all of you! will try to show up at the mickey pool, but if not, definitely at 3!! as for identifying one another...hmm...how about yelling out our codenames??!! wouldn't that be funny?!!?? i think i've gotten most of your names down...and can attach it to your codenames. that's a big accomplishment for me!!

anyways, will chat w/you all soon! :flower:

Hello everyone I am so excied we got our docs :dancer: a week ago Tuesday. I was in Ill. for 2 weeks and couldn't wait to get them and after driving 2000 miles and 3 days I went straight to the TA to pick them up before coming home. My kids thought I was nuts  Glad to be back and do all the catching up.

Aloha:
we will be...
DD14 dolphin swim and DH DS10 and I will be observing 9am PV
Mazatlan city tour and Folkloric show
Cabo Coastal highlights tour

can't wait to meet everyone see you in 16 days  :wave2:

gotcha! they're yours. they're black & plastic, and has a white skull on it. will pack them along! (not that they take up space!!!)

as for leaving the port after you get your number...i read elsewhere that you can leave. but i think you only have like at the most, 2 hours, before being allowed to board. i read there are characters, some movies that the kids can watch, and mariachi band playing...all to make the time go by quick.

hope this helps...

We have one category 2, is that big enough to have a DIS meet in?

Wish we could have gotten a category one, we were waitlisted since before it went on sail but could never get it.

Cat 2 room. WOW! It would be cool to get a look at your room to see what it looks like.

I agree you should think of waiting in line to get on the boat as if it were a ride a Disneyland or Disneyworld. A one to two hour wait for a one week ride. Not bad.

I would think that by the time you checked in and then got your car and drove somewhere it would take you at least 30 minutes each way to get where you are going.

If you are there the night or day before. Longbeach has the orginial Queen Mary, the World War II Submarine Scorpion and the Long Beach Aquarium. I have been on the Queen Mary before. If you eat dinner in their sit down restaurant you can wander around the boat at see the exhibits on the top floor. When I stayed on the Queen Mary a few years ago no one asked for tickets to see the displays on the top floor. If anyone is thinking about seeing the Queen Mary let me know. There used to be a secret entrance into the main exhibit area from one of the elevators at the back of the ship.

I am kind of sad someone broke off our car attenae and on top was my sorcerer Mickey ball.

A meet in Cat 2 sounds exciting...if you don't mind?

Long Beach has been developed over the past couple years. I took a visit a couple weeks ago. If anyone has time it's very nice and family oriented. They just built a merry-go-round, a ferris wheel, a gameworks (like a large Check"E"Cheese with bowling), lots of shopping and restaurants (I loved Bubba Gump's restaurant). Not to mention the Queen Mary, the Aqarium and the pier.

When I went to see the Quenn Mary they were not very nice. They wouldn't let you on the ship unless you were a hotel guest, dining in the restaurant, or wanted to pay $20 for a glimpse inside(I prefered to wait for the DCL-Magic).
