Weather aside, that sounds amazing!
It was very cool! What girl doesn't dream of having any part of her wedding in a real castle!!!
Weather aside, that sounds amazing!
3smithboys we are staying at the CI&S the night before too!!! Not sure if you've stayed there before (we haven't) - but the girl I spoke to said the shuttle times are assigned starting at 11am the day before. Our flight is not getting in until 7pm - so she told us we could call that morning at 11am to get our assigned time. Just thought I would pass this along to you so you could get an early shuttle too![]()
Ok, everyone keeps posting about their port times and I keep thinking "I really need to get on this!" But I am spending too much time updating my ADR's for this weekend's trip and planning my FE gifts! Really need to try and do this, maybe when I am sitting in boring conferences this week at the GF...![]()
Double check your times. They are not allowing anyone in prior to 11am. I forgot to put that in my original post!! That is the biggest change of all.
2:30 is good for us Lani.
Like the sound of both your suggestions for a place to meet. We're happy to go with the flow.
Just received a fed-ex package - yay! Our Disney cruise documents have arrived! Now I'm really excited.
I was worrying that they might not arrive before we leave for the US - I can relax now.
What? When are my documents going to arrive? 2:30 is good for us also.
Now we have to decide on a place and time to meet when we get on the Dream!!! The two places I mentioned before (and any other suggestions are welcome) are Currents, which is the outside "bar" area on deck 13 and Club 687, which is the "sports bar" in the District Area on Deck 4. Both of those places are open to kids during the day, so that is not an issue...
It just depends if we want to be inside rather than outside and in quiet spot vs. a place that might be busier.... Currents will probably be busier since it is outside and above the pool areas... Clun 687 is more off the beaten path and most people will not even know that it is there.
Now, as for the time to meet... we have to work around certain things on the first day as well as when everyone is getting on board! So, here is what I "know" is happening the first day...
3:45 - all aboard
4:00 - lifeboat drill
4:45 - sail away party
5:00 - departure
5:45 - 1st seating dinner
I am assuming that we would want to get together sometime before the lifeboat drill since then it seems that everything just starts happening in full force.... I know that we are planning on getting to the port at 11:00... so maybe a 2:30 meet would work for all of the travelers who are coming on the WDW busses? I can't remember when they get there from our Wonder cruise, but I thought it was around 1:00??? Does anyone know? Any thoughts? I am really looking forward to meeting everyone!!!![]()
2:30 in Club 687 sounds good to us!
My DS had just turned 13 on our 7 day on the Magic in 2009. We booked this trip especially because my sons would be in DIFFERENT clubs. Oldest in teen club and 13 year old in tween club. They were looking forward to some "apart" time. Well, DS 13 was in teen club for open house with other DS and met the counselors and kids and then open house in his club. After first night in his tween club, he went to teen club with his brother all the other days. He thought the tweens were acting very immature. Now, he is mature for his age but I didn't really like the idea of him in the teen club (illegally actually being he was only 13), but felt o.k. with it being older DS was there to supervise. None of the counselors ever checked his ID, I think because they remembered him from open house. He loved the teen club with his brother. So, I think a lot of it depends on the group of kids in the clubs/ages, etc. Maybe your DS can check it out and see which he is more comforable with. My boys did say there was some dancing on the dance floor "that I wouldn't like" but it wasn't too bad, I guess. My boys aren't really chick magnetsIt's time to reintroduce myself and my family since it's been over a year since I posted on this thread! DW and I have two sons - DS14 and DS9 (almost 10). Both of our boys are big fans of the kids' clubs, but DS14 just recently turned 14 so he's still trying to decide whether he prefers the tween club or the teen club. Anyone else have a similar issue?
We have been on two other Disney cruises, and neither I nor my wife remember taking dressy cloths. How dressed will you get?
Wow, will go check my port time when I'm done here. I signed up for 10:30 initially.Double check your times. They are not allowing anyone in prior to 11am. I forgot to put that in my original post!! That is the biggest change of all.
Did you get it early because you are not a resident of the US? Ours hasn't arrived yet.Just received a fed-ex package - yay! Our Disney cruise documents have arrived! Now I'm really excited.![]()
I am excited to play Kokomo while on my verandah, always makes me think of a vacation/ocean and have Margaritaville, but fun idea to download more to my ipod. Great idea! I like the idea of more Jimmy Buffet songs and Marley, didn't think of that! Here's a question - Music always inspires me so what kind of music does everyone listen to to get you in a Caribbean cruising mood? I listen to Marley year round but I usually kick it up when we get close and listen to more Buffet, steel drums, other Reggae artists. Anyone have other suggestions for my IPOD?
(Still haven't started my FE.............)
Rae -It is entirely up to you. Last time we had a mix, some for all, some just for the cabin, some just for kids. Whatever works for you!
Ugh, 8 days is a long time away from your kids, especially during the summer. I would think after 2 or 3 days of relaxing, sleeping in, doing whatever I wanted, I would start to miss my kids also. It would be nice to have those 2 or 3 days, though! LOL!![]()
